I saw The Asylum's 'Megashark vs. Giant Octopus' and 'Transmorphers' recently too... SyFy shows them, they obviously don't cost much... Hell, Transmorphers is such a thinly veiled Transformers rip-off it's untrue... but I still loved it!

Death Machine is one of my favourite movies ever. Brad Dourif is outstanding.
It's not strictly bad in a b-movie sense, but if you haven't seen 'The Terror' with Boris Karloff and Jack Nicholson, you should. Ol' Jack is supposedly in Napoleon's army. Best French accent you ever heard.

Not sure how I got roped into this one, but the wife wanted to watch it. Too depressing & uncomfortable for my taste, although I'm sure it reflects the life of many folks. Maggie Gyllenhaall does an awesome job as the lead character and is practically naked through much of the movie, so it has that.

I really enjoyed The Town. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. The only thing that was weird was that if you looked away while Ben Affleck was talking, you would swear it was Adam Sandler playing the part!

Really? How was it unrealistic? I thought it was a great movie, Best Picture and Best Director were well deserved. Of course I've never served in the military so my idea of realistic may be way off base...

Where to begin...
#1: That two NCOs and a SPC would answer to noone while in combat. No mention or visual Chain of Command at all.
#2: That a SGT would just up and smack a SFC in the face.
#3: Alcohol all over the place...in the OPEN. While I know there is liquor in country, it is hidden very well. Not just left out in the open for others to see.
#4: That he carries around an iridium phone at will.
Could go on and on...but then again, just my :2

The hurt locker was a turd. Miserable borefest, plot went nowhere. There was like ONE good scene.

I absolutely loved this movie. I thought Affleck did a much better job directing than he did in Gone Baby Gone.. and I liked that as well.

The New Nightmare on Elm Street last night. It was OK. It stayed very true to the original, but Kreugers voice was very very very very very very very very very very bad. I'd give it a 6/10. I think Iron Man II should be here today.

Watched 13th Warrior on blu-ray tonight. Love that movie - never gets old for me.

If they're the ones I just found on IMDB (Zombies Anonymous aka Last Rites of the Dead from 2006, and June 9 from 2008) then HELL YEAH!
June 9 has a character called Trucker Voice and another called Irate Gypsy Woman... I think I'll love that.
And Zombies... sounds so delightfully low budget it'll rock. and it has zombies, which is generally always a winner.

Went and watched a special 20 minute pre-view of Tron: Legacy last night at the IMAX theater. It was about 6 scenes from the movie and I can't put into words how excited I am about this movie. It's visually stunning, the sound was so amped up that it shook the theater, almost but not quite to the point of being too loud. The storyline looks pretty solid too, so I'm honestly expecting this to be my favorite movie of the year hands down.

Awesome! A friend of mine was in that movie. Real strange back then to watch the movie and see this girl you saw all the time while growing up.

She was Lucy, Marsha Dietlein is her name. She has been in lots of things since, some decent movies and a ton of TV. Her husband was a producer on Lobstermen and After The Catch.

Now I'm gonna have to go back and watch it again. I think Lucy was the main girl. The one you are talking about had the boyfriend who turned Zombie and wanted her brain right? If so, that was not her.
I think Lucy was the older sister of one of the boys who originally opened the containers.
Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWTyl2_rfj0) is the trailer, she is the one in the blue sweater, you only see the redhead girlfriend briefly in this trailer. Marsha is NOT the redhead chick.

We don't have TOO many famous people from our area, but there are a few. She is the only one I knew personally though. John Legend (the singer) is from our town, and Clancy Brown (shawshank, highlander) is from Urbana. He comes back there all the time and walks around town like its no biggie. I just missed him a few months ago, went to make a delivery for work and he had just been there.
I guess unless they become super mega stars and can't have privacy, people like Marsha and Clancy love to come home and be normal, and the people let them.
A nightmare on Elm Street...2010 version....man this was bad... gotta love the og...

You didn't ask me ;) but I thought it was decent. Not sure whether it is historically accurate, but it was enjoyable to watch. Had to put subtitles on, though, and it made a lot more sense. Couldn't understand a damn thing they were mumbling about.

Wife dragged me to Secretariat the other night. I expected the worst but was surprised at how good it was. Yes, we all know the basics of the story, but it is well told enough to not matter. I enjoyed it.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - meh. Except for the Mila eye candy, the movie was just o.k.
The Expendables - lots of guns, blood and explosions. Fun movie but nothing special.
