I warned ya. But did you listen...NNNoooo.
I can top your viewing of Old Dogs. Low budget Indie film Defying Gravity.
Mute girl goes out to California and lives in a cemetery where her Mother is
buried, all the time running away from her wicked stepfather, blablabla.
I can't tell you how it ends cause i am not sure I finished it. I think I did
but what the F happened, I can't tell ya.
Wife said... Old Dogs or Whiteout and I wasn't in the mood for a thriller/murder type movie.... Figured a comedy would be a nice way to relax. Ughhh :td :r
Wasn't a comedy at all... was a tragedy.
Wasn't a comedy at all... was a tragedy.
Confirmed to me that John Travolta is a good actor, but what a bad choice.
Here's a little tip for you. Look in the 3 dollar rack for a movie called "A Love
Song for Bobby Long" with JT in it. Cool movie, and nearly unheard of.
I watched Anchorman for the 5th time this year and LOST.

We tried to watch Old Dogs and could only get halfway through. Ditto for Williams' other newish flick, The World's Greatest Dad. Dunno what's going on with his script selection process these days.
Last move I watched was Shutter Island. Saw it twice, because everything takes on a different meaning the second time around. Great flick.

Watched Inglorious Basterds and Paranormal Activity this weekend. Both were a bit of a let down. I didn't expect much from Paranormal Activity, but it was below my already low expectation. I had high hopes for Inglorious Basterds as I'm a big Quentin Tarantino fan. It was a decent movie I just expected more I suppose.

"Let the Right One In", a Swedish subtitled movie with a 12 year old Vampire becoming friends
with a 12 year old boy that gets bullied at school. Subtitles can be a pain sometimes, but this
is really good. See it before the American remake butchers it. It is cool in alot of ways. The kid
sucks on this one lady, but she lives and begins to become a vampire herself. She walks in
this dude's house that has about a dozen cats and they all attack her at once, wicked. The setting
of cold-a$$ Sweden and the darkness where the vampire lives and the typical cold clime depression
complete with alcohol really combines to make this a dark and moody piece of film.

I liked that movie too, a refreshingly dark and original take on the vampire genre, which is getting incredibly played out at the moment.
I watched Black Dynamite last night. It was EPIC. Need I say more than kung-fu pimps and Richard Nixon with nunchaku? A glorius send up of 70's blaxploitation and kung fu movies.

I liked that movie too, a refreshingly dark and original take on the vampire genre, which is getting incredibly played out at the moment.
It made me smile in so many ways. I loved the lead character in particular, the
blond kid, Oskar. He would get these looks on his face like he just peed in his pants or in the pool.
He would look into space and this relaxed and dreamy look would come across his face.
Everything about this movie had some kind of appeal to it. I think it was incredibly well made.
Not sure if you knew this going in, but in the scene where Oskar sees the vampires crotch, it was
to illustrate a part of the book that was not explained in the movie, and that was the vamp-kid
was a castrated boy. It did not change or improve the way the story was told in the film.
Nor would it have been helpful to explain the books telling of the relationship between the old man
and the vampire-kid. Read about it online to see what I mean.

Clash of The Titans. Another remake of a cult classic. Well, sorta. They took alot of liberties from the original story. Alot. C'mon on, a cameo of Bubo the Owl? I hate these remade movies! They are very rarely any better and in most cases worse than the original. :td

I finally got around to watching the Bladerunner: Final Cut. I have to say, I didn't think the movie could get any better than the director's cut, but Riddley Scott really outdid himself. It certainly puts George Lucas to shame seeing how a real director can go back with digital technology and deleted scenes and actually improve his masterpiece instead of just marring a classic with crappy CG add ons.

I think you should see it, and not just because I own stock in Dreamworks and IMax. It is a good movie and the Mrs and I enjoyed it. Although since I own stock I hope everyone goes to see it multiple times.
It depends on what you mean when you say you're not a 'fan of animation'. Does the style just put you off? I think there has been some great animation from Toy Stories, Incredibles, and Shreks to Monsters vs. Aliens. If you didn't like any of those, then you'll probably not like the Dragon movie.
Finished watching Defendor and it was a bit too much of a mess to really enjoy but it gave it an admirable try.

Kind of an interesting movie. Lots of dialogue, long pauses and silent sections.. followed by utterly intense edge of your seat, freak you the F out sections.
Definitely watch it when you're fully awake though :D
