I watched the Proposition with Guy Pierce last week. It was an awesome western, set in the outback in the 1880's. The soundtrack was done by Nick Cave and it was as dark, intense and disturbed as you would expect from something associated with Nick Cave. Check it out if you like gritty, modern, "Deadwood" kind of westerns. This is no film for John Wayne fans.

I was on vacation last week and went on a movie binge. Then I bought a 32" LCD HDTV on Black Friday and things only got worse.
Movies included, but not limited to:
Angels & Demons
Beowulf (It was while watching this movie that I fell in love with my new TV)
Up!
KungFu Panda
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Taking Lives
I Know Who Killed Me (Not as bad as I expected, but will never watch it again)
And most of Season 1 of The Mentalist
But the highlight was:
Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day!! :banger
It finally came to theaters here in KC this weekend. I went to see it early Sunday afternoon with some friends. I was absolutely giddy with anticipation. I've been waiting for this movie for 10 years.
I could never ask a sequel to live up to the original, especially when that original is in my Top 5 Faves of all time. I was not disappointed. DaFoe was sorely missed, but seeing the rest of the old faces made up for that. I'm not going to reveal too much, but if you're a Saints fan you need to go see this movie.

We watched Paranormal Activity last night. Turned off all the lights & made some snacks. The wife and I felt it didn't live up to the hype of being a "scary" movie. I thought it was stupid!

Robin Williams- Worlds Greatest Dad. Very odd. Written by Bobcat Goldthwaite.
Don't pay more than a buck. A few interesting moments, followed and surrounded by waiting for something to march it along.

Not exactly the best movie ever made. Pretty low budget and horrible acting. But entertaining nonetheless. It was like watching an "adult film" without any sex or foreplay.

District 9, didn't think I would like it but it was very interesting. Discriminating against aliens and throwing then in refugee camps because they are poor and different... Seems more realistic than murderous creatures that we're scared of. Also had an interesting take on Metamorphosis.
