An oldie but goody, Raising Arizona.:tu
Caught a few scenes of Raising Arizona (again) while flipping the dial the other night (the one where he pulls the pin on the hand grenade) -- reminded me of an interview with the lead on "the Hurt Locker" where he explains why they wore two pairs of dog tags -- one around there neck and one tucked in their boot.

I could watch Zombieland back to back and enjoy it both times. :r
I gave Inglorious Basterds a real chance, a typical Tarantino suspension of disbelief.
What I saw was more of a fun movie with a ton of tension, for instance, anyone
who feels like the German kat didn't EARN his Best supporting actor Oscar needs to
watch the movie again. While I am watching it I am thinking, this is the best actor I have
seen this year. A movie that I thought was destined for greatness was the worst I have
seenin many many years....Couples Retreat. Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau in my eyes,
can do no wrong (Made-Swingers). Throw in Jason Bateman who is the ultimate child star comeback kid,
and I thought this thing was aces going away. Instead it should just go away. Seriously,
can Jason Bateman be any better than he is right now? He is the man. He can play comedy so
well and you never see the work, it looks effortless and completely plausible. I saw glimmers of
it in Dodge Ball. Bear in mind that I am too cheap to have cable, so I never saw that series he
was in with Jeffery Tambor et al.

Road to Perdition
I WILL say to clarify that i was letdown as well. I thought this movie could potentially be his best work ever,
but after seeing it, it was just entertaining, and a little strange. But in the end I am in favor of a director
rising to glory or dying a slow embarassing death according to his will. Who am I to tell them what they
want to do with their career. That's why i trust Spielberg to do "the pacific" really well, cause he has made
excellent choices in his career and rarely done a half-ass job. But yeah, the Nazi Hunter makes the movie.

Couples Retreat was really bad and the most disappointing Vince Vaughn movie I've ever seen.

I picked up the 2 disc on Tuesday, great flick. RDJ and Jude Law rocked!
Jude Law is good in about everything he does. I think he is far under-rated.
Did you see him in A.I.?
Enemy at the Gates was a low point, but other than that, lol. And he wasn't terrible in that.
Jason Bateman is also badly under-rated. Great in everything he has done as an adult.
I don't' watch many movies... but I did enjoy the Blindside the other night. Just a nice easy movie to watch.
Being as I am currently stuck in side of Memphis with the Mobile blues again,
I took to the Blindside. I DID find it soft in alot of places, acting was a bit
amateurish from most outside of any oscar nominees, and the direction was
even more clumsy. The Bed scene comes to mind. "I never had one before."
"What, a room of your own?" "NO. a bed." If Sandra Bullock is turned around
and messing around in a drawer or something and distracted, this is fine.
But she is looking at Michael LOOKING at the bed and still delivers this line.
Just weak direction.
And that happens repeatedly. It's like a student film. But a good one, don't
take me as disgruntled, I enjoyed the film.

Caught it this weekend, too. Good film, Sandra Bullock was very... watchable... :tu and I thought the story was compelling. Nice family flick. Plus, the opening scene highlighted Redskins football, so it was bound to be a good movie!
Of course, it's the only Redskins play that still gives me nightmares...

Pirates who don't do anything
A veggie tale movie
Watched a slew of disappointing movies lately.
Old Dogs is worse than Wild Hogs. Maybe fine for a family man.
Got on my nerves.
Men who stare at Goats. Fun for what it is, and I always like
G. Clooney in these kinds of shows. But wandered around in the
woods near the end, like Hansel and Gretel, and got seriously lost.
Sherlock Holmes Not bad at all. In fact, I liked it alot.

Black Hawk Down...:tu always enjoyable.
Honestly I wish they would have just left it alone though. That can be safely said about 75% of sequels. Where they left it at the end of Pt.1
has nothing to do with whether they should make another. Or perhaps a better
way of saying it is that just cause you left the door open, don't mean you should
walk through it. ;)
That reminds me I HAVE to watch The Kite Runner this week. I told my mother I would

Armored - horrible movie
I don't know if it was horrible, but it was defiantly not very inventive. Have you ever seen Hard Rain? It's basically that movie, but with a "better" cast. Overall Armored is a 5/5, it does not hit the "horrible" threshold until it drops below 5. :2
