What did you think of the Life and Limb? I still have bottle left.

Excellent! Can't really describe the flavors, but I really liked it. We've got ~4 more bottles, I think. :D

And I got on the list for some Surly Darkness at the local Haskell's He said he can only give me one to start, depending on how many he gets, and then after a week or so, I can get more, as they want others to have a shot at getting some. That's fair to me. :)

It was great, Tony. Gingerbread Dark Strong Ale. Just like Grandmas house during Christmas, especially if Grandma is a bad ass! Extremely dark beer with a unique head almost like Chocolate milk that got shaken up real good. The aroma will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, the taste will leave you wanting more, and the 11%abv will keep you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside for a while.:D

I brought home 2 bottles if that tells you anything.;)

Yeah losing DFH was like driving a stake in my leg :td

It's true I kept asking for St. Bernardus and they kept promising to get it....usually I am quite persuasive "Hey I'll buy a f*ckton of it if you carry it". Still no avail. It's okay I'll make a Kentucky run next year sometime and St. Bernardus 12 is a case purchase easily.

It'll be the second case of beer I've purchased, the first being Three Floyds Dreadnaught.

I'd love to purchase a WWS case too while I'm there :dr :dr

But yeah St. Bernardus 12 is a top 3 beer for me. I'd say tied with WWS for 'beer I could drink every 2 minutes till I die' :D

That's not a lambic!

http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1199/25852 - Blushing Monk; Belgian Strong Pale Ale (w/fruit)

Wiki - "Lambic is a very distinctive type of beer brewed only in the Pajottenland region of Belgium (southwest of Brussels) and in Brussels itself at the Cantillon Brewery and museum. Lambic is now mainly consumed after refermentation, resulting in derived beers such as Geuze or Kriek.
Unlike conventional ales and lagers, which are fermented by carefully cultivated strains of brewer's yeasts, lambic beer is produced by spontaneous fermentation: it is exposed to the wild yeasts and bacteria that are said to be native to the Senne valley, in which Brussels lies. It is this unusual process which gives the beer its distinctive flavour: dry, vinous, and cidery, usually with a sour aftertaste."

Fruit + Belgian does not always equal lambic. Blushing Monk is a fine fruit beer, but a lambic it is not. :2

I found that its a love hate kind of thing. Alot of people that had it absolutly loved it. Everyone else hated it. No middle ground. That being said I like it alot. Its very unique. When its fresh is has a very sweet stong caramel flavor. The year old bottle tastes alot more like champagne. It lost all the caramel and became fruity and bubbly. I say if you have the extra cash give it a whirl especially with the holidays here.
