Opened a 2011 Trader Joe's Vintage Ale last night.

Didn't seem as spicy as the 2010, which was perfectly fine with me.

Had one last night and your right, not as spicy as last year but still very good! Going out today to pick up a case. :tu

I doubt I'll ever see this one again. Alchemist Hell or High Water Luscious. It's an RIS that was salvaged from the brewery basement after the flood and bottled at Rock Art. Great beer, glad I got a chance to try it.

Surly is good stuff. I haven't had the abrasive since last march at the brewfest in Duluth.

Was just about to ask about that - what is it like? Worth $18?

I found that its a love hate kind of thing. Alot of people that had it absolutly loved it. Everyone else hated it. No middle ground. That being said I like it alot. Its very unique. When its fresh is has a very sweet stong caramel flavor. The year old bottle tastes alot more like champagne. It lost all the caramel and became fruity and bubbly. I say if you have the extra cash give it a whirl especially with the holidays here.

Indeed, it doesn't suck! I'm a big fan of the Brown Shugga, but I'm going to be upset if they can't figure some way to keep making the "sucks".

I can never age beer though, I always end up drinking it. :sh

Not sure, DFH120 weighs in around 450cal, and most imperial stouts & barleywines are in the 350+ range. Troegenator is good beer, though, so don't count calories & enjoy!
