Yea it's about that time. Hopefully we can score another case here. I have 2 of last years in the cellar. I love that beer even fresh. I don't mind when big beers are hot or boozy. I drink plenty of bourbon, so maybe that has to do with it, but people always complain about beers being hot.

I am enjoying a Pauwel Kwak finally for the first time. Not the best Belgian, but still very nice and enjoyable. I'd buy it again.

11/26 - Rare Bourbon County Preview on Black Friday at Goose Island Clybourn
Please don't get confused there will be no bottles on sale at the pub this

1/6 barrels to the Clybourn pub for Black Friday. Come on in, buy a beer and

Expect to see bottles of Rare in retail shortly after Thanksgiving day.

I have spoken with our GI rep down here and she said that bottling will be going on while that event is happening. So, I would imagine that the first week or so in December would be the actual arrival date of vanilla.

I talked to one shop and was informed they weren't getting any of the first shipment of Vanilla but will get some in March.
Must be two batches?

Yeah. GI has shown favoritism towards their 'better' accounts. You can't really blame them though.
Our rep down here mentioned two batches that were brewed. But I thought she said they were done at or near the same time. She also said that the barrel aging took longer than anticipated.

The Vanilla I had a couple months back must have been from a pilot batch.
Trust me. It is worth the wait.

Availability: Limited, Draft Only
The Quartier Rouge is a reddish hued Belgian-style Tripel flavored with grains of paradise and guarana seeds. It's the brainchild of our very own Engineering & Maintenance Departments (who helped make the brew)! Unfiltered and 100% keg conditioned...very tasty!

9.4% ABV, only available at the brewpub (sadly). It's wonderful.

Yes, I really enjoy it. One misconception I had was I thought it was is a big beer but it is just a solid American Stout with a hint of coffee.

The only one I can speak to is SN Celebration. Don't let the label fool you it is not a Christmas beer but instead an IPA, a very tasty IPA, but if you are looking for a Christmas/Winter Warmer style ale it can be deceiving.

Just finished a 6 of the SN--it's not really in the Christmas/Spiced ale category. It's a rich, vey balanced & drinkable IPA. After all these years I'm still partial to Cascades hops, so I like the piney, citrusy aroma of this beer. Probably one of my favorite SN's right now, even better than Torpedo. :tu:tu

I'm drinking a bottle of Boulevard's Collaboration #1 Imperial Pilsner that I got in a trade with our friend BeerAdvocate. This is perfect for going with Thanksgiving dinner. It's more of a Belgian pale ale than a pilsner, and it's a perfect paring with the rich foods associated with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

I'm chilling down a bottle of my homebrewed Imperial Vanilla Bourbon porter for later this evening. This will be my first bottle from this batch, so I'm interested to see how it's developing.

I drank a few Summit Imperial Pumpkin Porters last night, #5 from their Unchained series, and have to say I'm very impressed. This is a nice solid porter with the background notes of pumpkin pie, which I liked very much. It's not too "pumpkin pie-ish". Either this or the Rye have been my favorite from the Unchained series. I'm going to grab a couple more 6'ers before it sells out. It will be a very nice beer for winter evenings.

Yeah I get that too on the very end of the finish. Up front I love the great roasted malts, rich chocolate and coffee on the mid-palate. I also taste some nuttiness as well. I want to pair this beer with a cigar. I think maybe a Monte 2. The beer isn't too strong, and I think it will enhance the classic monte flavors.
