Good morning all, the espresso coffee and Belgium Waffles are on. Wanted to ensure I had a full belly prior to going out and clearing the heavy snow from the side and walkways as well as the vehicles and driveway. Unfortunately, the Eagles played horribly yesterday and got eliminated from the NFL playoffs just as the Cowboys, Steelers, Patriots and the Raiders. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Friday! We had a good night at Aroma, a number of the regulars were out as well as a few of our friends we haven't see in a while. Weather wise, we ended up with roughly 3" of snow yesterday and currently it's -2°F with the wind chill. There are going to be some good NFL Football games both Saturday and Sunday starting at 1630 (4:30 pm) tomorrow. The NY Rangers are hot on the ice right now and NASCAR is heating up as well with the first race of the year coming the 6th of February. Enjoy the weekend everyone....... :chr

We had a good weekend overall, spent Saturday at the Aroma Cigar Room with the fellas and the had a nice dinner at home with Beth. Yesterday after doing some grocery shop, we relaxed at the house and enjoyed a few cold one while watching a couple of great NFL games on the television. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's Friday! We had a great at Aroma, place was hoppin' and everyone was enjoying top shelf cigars and all. Unfortunately, the NY Rangers came up short loosing 5 - 3, they'll be back at it tonight against the Minnesota Wild starting at 2000 (8 pm). Also this weekend, we have the NFL Conference Championship games on Sunday to determine who goes to the Superbowl. My prediction is the Chiefs vs. the Rams in the big game come February 13th. Spent Saturday at the Aroma Cigar Room with the guys and the came home to watch some NASCAR and enjoy dinner with Beth. Sunday Funday was relaxing and we watched NASCAR throughout the day finishing up with the Daytona 500. Congrats to rookie driver Austin Cindric for capturing the checkered flag and being one of the youngest drivers to do so. Thursday, we're spending the day with our dear friend Eddie Ortega (owner of Ortega Cigars) and then that evening we'll head over to the West Palm Smoke Inn for the Alec Bradley event. Alec, Bradley and their father Alan Ruben will be there along with Abe and his crew. Friday, we're meeting up with Pedro Gomez Rodriguez from Drew Estate and spending time with our good friend. That evening, we have a dinner planned in North West Palm at a private residence on a beautiful golf course. Saturday is the main event at the South Florida Fair Grounds and if that wasn't enough, we're heading back to the West Palm Smoke Inn for a Robert Caldwell event. We had a great past two days so far: Thursday, we spent the day with our dear friend Eddie Ortega down in Deerfield Beach and that evening we hung out with Alec and Bradley Rubin from Alec Bradley Cigars. Yesterday, we went down to Miami and had lunch and smoked cigars with Pedro Gomez Rodriguez from Drew Estate. Last night, we went to dinner at home on private golf course which was top notch. The main event on Saturday, "The Great Smoke", was absolutely outstanding. We saw and spent the day with a lot of dear friends in the cigar business. All the owners were in attendance being that most of them are based in the Miami area. That evening, we headed over to the Smoke Inn at West Palm for the Robert Caldwell event that was pack as well. After getting settled from the trip, Beth had a nice meal waiting on me and we relaxed watching the NASCAR race from California and a big congrats to Kyle Larsen for claiming the checkered flag. Our friend is leaving Government Service to begin a chapter in his life with a private global security firm based out of Austin, TX. Wishing the best for our brother in arms, we know he'll do well. Got all the documents filled out and all our required stuff in a folder as well. Anyway, the weekend went well. Saturday, we stayed home as we had a nice little storm and then yesterday we hit a couple of breweries in the area with a some close friends. We had a great weekend overall: the music and beer (and cigars) were top shelf for sure Friday evening; Saturday, Beth and I along with two of our dear friends spent the day at Post 1796 American Legion in New Windsor, NY. They had a tasty Reuben sandwiches, Irish dancers, 50/50, etc. Yesterday, Beth and I relaxed and stayed home as I put the snow blower away for the season. Congrats to William Byron for taking the checkered flag in yesterday's NASCAR race, it was definitely high speed race with plenty of bumper to bumper racing. Good morning all, the coffee has been on since 0345 as we have to be up and running in the EOC at West Point by 0600 this morning. Today is our bi-annual Full Scale Exercise being evaluated by our higher headquarters from San Antonio, TX (IMCOM). Because of COVID, we haven't been evaluated since 2019 by IMCOM. We have numerous exercises throughout the year in preparation for this level training. Most likely, the scenario will be an active shooter with add-ons for sure. The evaluation will run at least for eight hours and we're ready for them. At the end of the day, I know a beer will have my name on for sure. Anyway, have a great day everyone and enjoy....... :tu

We had a great time this past weekend starting with Friday as we hosted at our house a retirement party for two of our dear friends. There was roughly 20 of our friends enjoying tasty foods, adult drinks and lots of laughs and memories shared. Good morning all, the coffee has been on since 0400 today (a few minutes earlier than normal), and it's raining all night here in the Hudson Valley. The reason why the earlier start this morning at West Point is we have to be in and set up by 0700 (7 AM) for COVID observation/testing again. The Orange County COVID level is back up to "medium" and most likely a result of Spring Break. There's no requirement for masking yet (that gets turned on if we get to the "High" status). Sports wise, the Yankees lost yesterday in Detroit 3 - 0, they had a bad 8th inning. They'll be home this evening taking on the Cleveland Guardians (no longer the Indians) starting at 1905 (7:05 PM). The NASCAR drivers are in Talladega, AL this weekend racing tomorrow and on Sunday. The NY Rangers only have a few games left in the regular season and the NHL will begin the Playoffs. Went out on a catamaran for the day: cruised the mangroves in kayaks; had a beach party on a sand bar out in the middle of the ocean and all. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's an early morning at West Point as 1300 new Cadets (Freshmen) arrive starting at 0600 to start their four year adventure. I had a great weekend, went back to my home town of Maynard, MA and spent Friday evening and half the day Saturday with friends I grew up with. Then Saturday evening, I went to my 46th High School Reunion at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlboro, MA. Twelve of the twenty Electrical Wiring classmates of mine were there and it was great seeing the guys. Already planning to attend our 50th and hopefully we all stay in touch from now on. Sports wise, congrats to the Colorado Avalanche for being crowned the 2022 Stanley Cup Champs; the Yankees split the four game series with Houston; and a big congrats to Chase Elliott for grabbing the checkered flag in yesterday's NASCAR race after being rained delayed a few time down in Nashville. I'm taking the next couple of days off in preparation of this weekends Quad State Herf & Cigar B Que 17. Tomorrow, we have to pick up all the bottled water (roughly 50 cases), soda and drop it off at Lake Frederick along with tents, tables and buckets, etc. Friday morning we'll be packing the "goodie bags", and then stopping by the Newburgh Brewing Company to pick up the kegs. Saturday was a great time at Yankee Stadium with Military Appreciation Day, unfortunately, the Yanks came up short losing 5 - 2. They did bounce back yesterday with a 4 - 2 win and halted the Blue Jays from the sweep. I'm only working a half day today as Beth and I are heading back to Yankee Stadium today to catch the Yankees vs. Mets (Beth is the Mets fan) subway series. Beth and I had a great weekend starting with Friday as we attended the Ring Ceremony at West Point for our Senior Cadet that we sponsor. His parents were down from Augusta, ME and we all enjoyed a nice BBQ afterwards. Saturday afternoon, we went over to one of our niece's home and celebrated their 7 year old son's birthday. Then yesterday, we hosted a "thank you" event at the American Legion in New Windsor, NY for all that helped out with this year's Quad State Herf & Cigar B Que. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Friday! We had a good time at Aroma last night, the usual suspects were out enjoying top shelf stogies and all. Congrats to the Eagles on their win last night (it was ugly but still a win at the end) and now they have an 8 - 0 record this season. I see that Phillies lost last night, the Astros up now 3 games to 2. They're heading back to Houston and the World Series will be decided this weekend. Also this weekend, all three NASCAR series (Camping World Truck, Xfinity, and Cup) will race for the Championship in Phoenix, AZ; NHL; college and NFL football. Enjoy everyone....... :D

We had a relaxing weekend over all starting with going out to dinner Friday evening and then going to see a local Play with our niece in the cast; Saturday, I went to the Aroma Cigar Room in the morning and then relaxed out back at home in the afternoon grilling wings; yesterday, we went to the American Legion in New Windsor, NY for their annual gala with 300+ others and had a great time. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's another early morning here at West Point. We're back to testing the unvaccinated Garrison employees today and tomorrow starting at 0700 in the EOC. Orange County is back in a "High" status which means testing twice a week within a 48 hour period. One good thing about it is that we get off early which is always nice especially during daylight savings time. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day and remembers to be safe out there....... :)

We had a great weekend starting off with Spending the day on Friday with my brothers and sisters in Arms on Veterans Day; Saturday, Beth and I raked the yard of all the leaves and then relaxed out back with a few cold ones; finished off yesterday at the Aroma Cigar Room with a packed house as we had a send off brunch for one of our dear brothers who is relocating to Charleston, SC with his wife. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Friday! We all enjoyed the food and all at Vesuvio's, top notch. As we were finishing up, I received a phone call from one of Beth's nieces' that her younger brother had just passed away which devastated her. We rush to the hospital and spent a number of hours there with family and a priest. Her brother Michael drove himself to the hospital early in the morning complaining of chest pain and shortness of breath. As the nurses were helping him to the bathroom, Michael turned blue and passed away. God rest his sole...... 🙏

Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday already. We worked the Army Football game Saturday versus UCONN which the Army team won 34 - 17. Yesterday, we stayed home after going to the grocery store and watched football and witnessed the wildest finish this year. The NE Patriots and the NY Jets were 3 - 3 for almost the entire game until the Patriots ran a punt back for a touchdown with 5 seconds left in the game. Congrats to the Philadelphia Eagles on their late game win to go 9 and 1. This week will be a short work week with Thanksgiving and all. We'll be going to the Aroma Cigar Room on Tuesday as they are having a membership Thanksgiving dinner along with a Room 101 cigar event as well. I hope everyone has a great week and enjoys....... :)

To celebrate Thanksgiving, we went around the corner to our dear friends home, Eric and Maggie Reder. Eric graduated West Point in 2013 and we were his sponsors while he was a Cadet. Now they are back here and he is a Major in the US Army and teaches math here at the Academy. Friday, Beth and I relaxed all day and watched television shows that we DVRd. Saturday, I went and spent the day at the Aroma Cigar Room with the guys and then yesterday, we put out some of the Christmas lights outdoors and stuff. I took the day off of work today as I have use-or-lose vacation days (we're authorized to carry 240 hours over a year), I have to take 8 days off by the end of the year not counting the already scheduled holiday days we get. Since the Army-Navy game is always played at college football season's end, and the CFP playoff teams are announced a week earlier, what would happen if Army or Navy were in contention for one of those top 4 (or in the future, more) slots but their rivalry game hadn't happened yet? Would the playoff picks have to be delayed?
