Tonight, a few of us are going to the Hudson Valley Renegades baseball game versus the Staten Island Yankees. Always fun watching a minor league game to see possible stars in the MLB. Weather wise, it's looking like we'll have a beautiful stretch of sunny days with temps in the mid 80s, As far as sports goes, the Yankees are back in town taking on the Blue Jays this weekend and the NASCAR drivers are down in Sparta, KY racing tonight and tomorrow evening as well. Good morning everyone, the coffee has been on since 0420 and it's back to work Monday. We had another fantastic weekend, the weather was great and I enjoyed a number of tasty cigars. Congrats to the Yankees for taking 2 out of 3 games from the Blue Jays and congrats to Kurt Busch for taking the checkered flag in Saturday night's NASCAR race. Beth and I stopped out at Lake Frederick yesterday to do a pre-check in preparation of this year's Quad State Herf. All is looking good and we are less than 3 weeks out. The Yankees game got postponed until 1500 (3pm) today as a result of rain last night. They're currently scheduled to have a doubleheader today but not sure that'll happen either as the rain is still lingering in our area. Good morning everyone, the coffee has been on since 0400 as I couldn't sleep and have to be at the office soon. We had a great night at Schlesinger's, the usual crowd was there plus a number of ole' faces as well. Congrats to the Yankees as they won both games yesterday against Tampa Bay in the doubleheader. They'll be taking on the Rockies here in the Bronx this weekend and the NASCAR drivers will be in the great state of New Hampshire this weekend as well. 2 weeks from today will be the start of the 2019 Wings for Warriors - Quad State Herf 14 weekend, start getting your stuff together early. If you have cigars that are just laying around your humidor not being smoked, Cigars for Warriors will be at the event collecting stogies for our troops in harms way. I think the heat wave is over for now, the Hudson Valley has rained predicted for the next day and a half according to NOAA. The Yankees took 2 out of 3 from the Rockies this past weekend and a big congrats to Kevin Harvick for getting his first win this year in yesterday's NASCAR race. Good Morning.

Up early and doing things. Wife and I are taking off on vacation this morning. NewAir CC-300H sitting at 90%RH @ 70F finished seasoning this morning. Took out my sponges, put in 12oz 65% heartfelt beads (3 XL tubes) and hopefully it will be ready for my cigar collection (50 total) before we leave tomorrow....be nice to keep them at an even temp after hanging in my Pelidor with less than steady temps.

We're changing things up for today as it's a beautiful day and a number of us are taking a road trip to Citi Field to catch the Mets vs. Padres baseball game with the first pitch being thrown at 1210. Should be a great day for baseball and the weather looks to be nice as well with temps in the mid 80s and sunny. Congrats to the Yankees as the beat the Twins again last night. Tonight, they take on the Red Sox in Boston starting at 1910 (7:10 pm). Always a tough series with Boston, doesn't matter if they are home or away. Good morning all, the coffee has been on since 0420 as always and it's Friday! We had a great day yesterday at Citi Field as the Mets won 4 - 0 over the San Diego Padres. Now on the other hand, the Yankees got spanked 19 - 3 in Boston by our rivals the Red Sox. Hopefully they turn things around tonight and put up a "W". The NASCAR racers are in the Poconos this weekend in the Monster Series and the Xfinity Series racers are in Iowa. One week from today, a number of you will be making the trek out here to West Point for the annual Wings for Warriors - Quad State Herf. Start packing now as it'll be here before you know it. Please go through your humidors and pack up some cigars the you haven't smoked for a while and bring with you to donate to Cigars for Warriors who will have a tent sent up at our event. Our proud men and women in the uniformed services that are in harms ways love it when they get a care package of cigars and stuff. We had a great time last night at Schlesinger's, S/BOTL were there that have arrived in town for this weekend's Quad State Herf 14. Today is another busy one with making all the "Goodie Bags", picking up the kegs of beer and doing those last minute things that makes this event go off without a hitch. Sports wise this weekend, The Red Sox are in town and the NASCAR drivers are north of here at Watkins Glen, NY. This evening, Army Takes on Rice for the first football game of the season here at West Point. We'll be working in the Emergency Operations Center from noon on until after the game ends which should be around 2300 (11pm). The Yankees are at home this weekend taking on the "A"s, we'll be heading down to Sunday's game which should be a good one. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday already. The weekend flew by as we had a great time at the West Point Oktoberfest Friday evening. Then we worked all day on Saturday manning a booth at the West Point Emergency Preparedness fair followed up by the 2nd annual pig roast at the Rock Wall in Cornwall, NY. We finished up the weekend spending the day at our friends weeding which was a great time. The Yankees only took one game out of three this weekend and the Eagles lost to the Falcons yesterday. Martin Truex Jr. took the checkered flag in yesterday's NASCAR race which was the opener for this year's playoff series. Enjoy your week all and remember to be safe out there...... :tu

It was a quick weekend as we worked in the Emergency Operation Center 12 hours in support of the Army football game. Congrats to Army on their win over Morgan State with a final score of 52 - 21. Also, a big congrats to Martin Truex Jr. for taking the checkered flag in Saturday night's NASCAR race which was the first in the playoff round. The Yankees are rolling along with taking 2 out of 3 wins this weekend, they are off today and take on the Rays in Tampa Bay the next couple of nights. Congrats to the Eagles on a sloppy win last night over the Packers. This is the final regular season weekend of play for the Yankees, they are down in Texas. Lets go fellas, put up a couple of "W"s and stay healthy for next weekend's ALDS playoffs. The NASCAR racers are down in North Carolina for race 2 of the their playoffs as well. I have a family wedding to attend with Beth tonight and my normal 0430 arrival to work tomorrow is delayed until 0830. Spent Saturday morning with the guys at the cigar shop and then slow grilled a beer can chicken in the afternoon. Beth has been dealing with a cold all weekend so we had Bowl games on all day Saturday and then yesterday watched NFL games as well. We had a great weekend as always: Friday Beth and I stopped by the Newburgh Brewery and spent some time with Paul and the crew enjoying some tasty beers; went to a family birthday party that evening; Saturday was cigar shop day relaxing with the fellas and then Beth and I were invited over to her sister's house for homemade raviolis with meatballs; yesterday was Sunday Funday hitting a couple of breweries and then hanging out at the firepit smoking cigars to cap off the weekend. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Sunday. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, We're on 12 hour shifts here at West Point with the Emergency Operation Center in full operation 7 days a week. West Point still has a large number of Cadets, Cadre/Instructors and family members overseas waiting to come back to the U.S. to be tested and quarantined. As everyone knows, all large events have been cancelled/postponed to include Cigarfest up in the Poconos. I'm sure we'll get through all of this but it will take time. Keep an eye on your neighbors and try and shop local to help the small business community. I'll be off to work shortly and check back in tomorrow morning....... :)

Good morning all all, the coffee is on and it's Thursday. All is good here in the Baranyai household, only 3 more days of quarantine as a result of contact with a positive COVID-19 victim. One of our supervisors in the EOC came in 11 days ago and was not feeling well, got tested and came back positive. He and his family are doing good but the EOC is working virtual and utilizing a program called WebEOC. All meetings are held on MS Teams and we've been teleworking via VPN. The President extended the stay at home through the end of April to help stop the spread of this virus. I have to put a little smile on things, so here's a little funny for you to laugh at. Just be careful because people are going crazy from being in lock down! Actually I've just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking tea and all of us agreed that things are getting bad. I didn't mention anything to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on everything and certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant. In the end the iron calmed me down as she said everything will be fine no situation is too pressing.

Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Ground Hog Day (LOL). This is the new normal for a while, get up early; head to West Point at 0600 (6 am) and get get home after 1800 (6 pm). Yesterday's rain and wind brought down a lot of trees in the area, no damage at our house but there were roads closed for a while and the power was out for a number of hours. The United States Military Academy along with Head Quarters Army has made a decision to bring back the senior class (Firsties) so they can graduate and become Second Lieutenants in this great US Army of ours. They come back between the 27th and 28th of May and get ready for the 13th of June when President Trump (Commander in Chief) will preside over the ceremony. In two weeks, the senior class (Firsties) will return to West Point in preparation for their graduation on the 13th of June with the President as the guest speaker. There's a lot that has to get done before the 13th for sure, i.e., medical testing, shipping of household goods to their next assignment, etc. There are strict guidelines in place as far as social distancing goes, feeding schedules and parade practicing for the ceremony itself. Time will fly by and the next thing we know our Commander-in-Chief will be landing his helicopter on the parade field for the graduation commencement. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's back to work Tuesday. The first group (roughly 100 brigade staff members) of the Graduating class return to West Point today, they'll go through medical testing and then a 2 week quarantine prior to the June 13th graduation.
