Tonight's game has the first pitch being thrown at 1905(7:05pm) by Phil Hughes and hopefully the Bombers back him with the bats again. Today being Thursday, we'll be at Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars this evening enjoying primo stogies watchin' the game. Good morning all and yes, the Killer Beans Electric Chair™ Espresso is kickin'. It was good to see the Yankees win another one with A.J. throwing a great game with a final score of 7 - 3. Jeter was 3 for 4 and A-Rod finally got his first homer of the year. After that, I switched it to the Mets vs. Cardinals game which was the FOX game of the week. It was a scoreless game for the first 18 innings and the Mets finally won it 2 - 1 in 20 innings and the game lasted almost 7 hours. Today the Yankees and the Rangers will have one more meeting which will start again at 1305(1:05pm) and today's starter for the Bombers is the veteran Andy Pettitte. Also today we have the NASCAR race from Texas Motor Speedway which is scheduled to start at 1500(3pm) on FOX. Yesterday's Nation Wide Series race got rain delayed yesterday until 2100(9pm) this evening and it looks as if it is still raining there. I'd hate to see both races get rescheduled until tomorrow, but if that's what it will take to race em', so be it. Anyway, I hope everyone has a good day and gets to enjoy a favorite or two or....... :D

On the other hand, the Yankees won again and the Bombers are definitely on a roll. The Yanks and the A's have one more game today before moving on to take on the Angels again. The Bombers can regroup today on their day off and head to Baltimore tomorrow evening and get that win again. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's day two of my stacation. We had a great time yesterday taking the Hudson River Cruise out of Kingston on the Rip Van Winkle http://www.hudsonrivercruises.com/. We had lunch at Rosita's http://www.rositasonline.com/ and after the cruise, we went over to the Mariner's Harbor for a couple of cold ones and some fresh seafood from the raw bar http://www.marinersharborny.com/mariners/. Finished off the evening with an 03' Opus X Petitte Lancero which was smooth as silk. It was good to see the Yankees beat the Indians 8 - 0 and the two teams will play one more this evening at 1905(7:05pm) again. Today, I'm planning on driving down to Barrister Cigars in Union, NJ for a fund raiser to benefit The Steve Faccenda Children’s Education Fund. Here is a cut and paste from an email I received yesterday:
Meet Tim Ozgener at The Barrister

Join CAO President Tim Ozgener for a very special evening at The Barrister tomorrow, July 29. Tim will be in-store from 4-10 pm as CAO partners up with The Barrister to raise funds to benefit The Steve Faccenda Children’s Education Fund.

Steve Faccenda, a regional sales manager, was a beloved member of our CAO family for over four years and was known and loved throughout the cigar world. Steve recently lost his hard-fought battle with cancer, passing away on May 29, in Dover, New Jersey. Steve is survived by his wife, Deborah Gifoli, and their three children, Steven Jr., Tim, and Taryn.

In return for a $40 charitable donation, you will receive a CAO 3-pack containing a CAO La Traviata, CAO LX2, and CAO Vision, along with a CAO Cutter and matches. There will also be raffle prizes throughout the evening. Come out, meet Tim, and help support a worthwhile cause.

Good morning all and yes, the joe is brewin'. I had a great time yesterday at the Barrister and it was good to see Tim O. as always. They raised quite a bit for the Children's Education Fund and it was great to have Steve's wife in attendance along with the three kids. As I was driving home from New Jersey, I had the Yankees game on. The Bombers went from a 2 -1 game and by the time I got home, it was 9 - 1. The final score was 11 - 4 and I'm sure the stands were pretty empty by the 8th inning. This weekend New York is taking on the Rays down in Tampa Bay and this evening it will be Phil Hughes startin' for the Yanks at 1905(7:05pm). Also this weekend, the NASCAR racers are at the Pocono Raceway where Beth and I will be headin' tomorrow thru Monday. We have the pleasure Sunday morning of escorting the Color Guard from West Point to present the National Colors at the start of the Pocono 500. It should be a memorable time and I hope that the weather cooperates. Currently there's a slight chance of rain for Sunday and I hope it stays that way. Either way, we're going in and hopefully they start the race on time. If it gets rain delayed, I'm off till Wednesday, so we'll go back to the track on Monday and watch it then. On another note, the Yankees lost last night 3 - 2 and now the Rays are only one game behind. The two teams will play again this evening at 1910(7:10pm) and A-Rod is still at 599 homers. Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on as always. Beth and I are back from the Poconos and we had a great time. We got to walk up and down pit road, drive on the track, see every driver before and after driver introductions and sit in seats right on top of pit wall road. It rained a little bit prior to the race which delayed the start but once the green flag flew, it didn't show again until there was about 25 laps to go. At that time there was a bad accident, so between the clean up and rain delay, we made it to a restaurant right down the road. I see that the Yankees are now tied for 1st place with the Rays as the Bombers lost last night 8 - 6. Good morning all and yes, the joe is brewin' as always. Today they will play the Goat - Engineer game which is a build up to this weekend's Army / Navy Classic. Here is a little info about today's game:

Goat-Engineer game: As part of the run-up to the Navy football game, the Corps of Cadets plays the Goat-Engineer game. First played in 1907, it is a game between the "Goats" (the bottom half of the senior (Firstie) class academically), and the "Engineers" (the top half). The game is played with full pads and helmets using eight-man football rules. The location has changed over the years, with recent venues being Shea Stadium, Michie Stadium, and Daly Field. Legend states that Army will beat Navy if the goats win, and the opposite if the engineers win. In recent years, female cadets have begun playing a flag football contest, so there are now two Goat-Engineer games, played back to back the same night.

Tomorrow, we have the Spirit Luncheon at Ike Hall which is a huge pep rally and then tomorrow evening is the bon-fire / send off of the team. I hope everyone has a great day as well and enjoys a favorite cigar or two....... :banger

Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on now for a good hour. Well, the Eagles had one heck of a comeback over the Giants yesterday and the Jets won over the Steelers as well. Anyway, we are less than a week from Xmas and I hope the holiday shopping is coming to a close for all. I'm not sure about the rest of you but I'll be working up to this Thursday and Uncle Sam gave us Friday off. I hope everyone has a great week and gets to enjoy a few favorites throughout it........ http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/6614/merrychny6xmas.jpg (http://img337.imageshack.us/i/merrychny6xmas.jpg/)

Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on since 0400 (4am). We conducted West Point's adverse weather conference call and with no doubt, it's a "Code Red" resulting from the current blizzard:

I'll wait till daylight and then get bundled up to clear the vehicles off and shovel out the walk ways and such. It looks to be a nice day to smoke a stogie in the garage / shed and then check out the other neighbors / relatives if they need help as well. I hope everyone has a good week and enjoys a few of your favorites before the New Year is here....... :tu

Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on now for a good hour. Well, I got the driveway, walks, trail around the house, back patio and trail to the shed all shoveled off yesterday as planned. I'm not sure if it was all the snow or that I'm getting older but it whipped my butt. We got roughly 18" to 20" of the fluffy stuff and the drifts are amazing. I might have to invest in a snow blower at the end of this season when they go on sale as this "Global Warning" thing is a bunch of garbage, LOL. Anyway, there are only 4 days left in 2010, enjoy them with a favorite or two or....... :banger

Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on as always. Well, the Eagles lost last night 24 - 14, maybe they should have played it this past Sunday evening during the blizzard. One good thing is that they are definitely locked in for a playoff position by clinching their division. Anyway, I hope everyone has a happy "Hump Day" and enjoys....... :D

Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on as always. Well, today is the last work day for the year which means we'll be getting our files and stuff ready for 2011. Today, Army is in the Armed Forces Bowl taking on SMU with a kick-off at 1200 (noon). The game is being played in Dallas / Fort Worth, TX, so the weather shouldn't be a factor. Being that today is Thursday, we'll be meeting up at Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars for a primo stogie or two and catching up on the world's news. I hope everyone has a good on and enjoys it as well....... http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/5903/coffeedrinkers.gif (http://img402.imageshack.us/i/coffeedrinkers.gif/)
