Good morning everyone, the coffee is on as always and it's Thursday. Beth and I stayed home last night and enjoyed homemade reuben sandwiches and and a couple of Newburgh Brewing Cream Ales. Hopefully next year, we'll be able to go out in full force to a local Irish pub and enjoy. Still undecided which cigar lounge we're going to this evening. Got invites to Aroma Cigar Lounge and Schlesinger's Hudson Valley Cigar Bar, we'll see what happens later as the fellas chime in on the group text. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Friday! Well, we ended up going to Aroma Cigar Room in Monroe, NY as it was a unanimous decision by everyone on the group text. Had a great time and smoked a couple of tasty cigars. Tomorrow, Beth and I are planning on hitting the road and going Jeep shopping for a new one for me. There are a number a dealers in our vicinity, hopefully one catches my eye. Sports wise this weekend, the MLB is finishing up their Spring Training, the NHL is busy on the ice all over and the NASCAR drivers are in Atlanta with races Saturday and Sunday. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday already. We had a very successful Jeep shopping day. Beth and I ended coming home in a 2021 Jeep Wrangler "Willys Edition". The color is Stin-Gray and the vehicle solid as a rock. Yesterday we had friends over for Sunday funday: ribs on the grill low and slow, cigars burning and the weather was spot on. Good morning all, the coffee is on as always and it's brisk Tuesday morning. I'm heading out shortly as West Point will be conducting training today in Central Area where the Cadets live and get educated. We will activate the EOC after some of our folks shoot some blanks in the area and see how the Cadets react to it. It's an annual requirement and hopefully they react correctly: Run - Hide - Fight. Good morning everyone, the coffee has been on since 0420 and it's "Hump Day". We had a good "active shooter exercise" yesterday, the majority of the cadets and cadre knew exactly what to do. After I got home last night, I took our 11 year old Weber grill apart and scrapped, wire-brushed and scrubbed the heck out of it as we do every year. We grill year round but the beast needs it's annual maintenance and it was due. Anyway, enjoy all and smoke a favorite today if you get the chance....... :tu

Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Friday. Had a busy day yesterday for sure. Mandatory training starting at 0545 for a number of security guards, MPs and other first responders. Last night, we went to Aroma Cigar Room and enjoyed a primo stogie relaxing with the fellas. Today, I'm going back to the Jeep dealer as the new vehicle has an issue with the sound system. It goes on and off continuously to include AM, FM, Sirius Radio, Navigation, etc. There must be a circuit board fault and I'm bringing it in to get the issue resolved or at least identified for repair/replacement. The dealership said that it'll be in this week and installed asap. Good morning everyone, the coffee has been on since 0420 and it's already "Hump Day". Yesterday after work, Beth and I started our Spring maintenance around the house. We started with our three season room taking the windows out and cleaning them one at a time. They are full screened and are two piece Larsen Storm windows. There's a total of nine windows and it took us a good 2+ hours to clean them all to include both doors (slider going in the house and the storm door going in the three season room). This evening, we'll be putting together the new patio furniture that we picked out from Home Depot, should look good when finished. Anyway, enjoy all and smoke a favorite or two if you get the chance....... 👍

Well, we didn't start the new patio furniture yesterday as the weather didn't cooperate and today I'll be heading to the Aroma Cigar Room in Monroe, NY. It looks like tomorrow will be furniture day as I took a vacation day being we're dropping off our 2020 taxes and all. Today is also the first day for the MLB season, sucks that it'll probably get rained out here in NY as the Yankees are scheduled to take on the Toronto Blue Jays at 1305 (1:05 pm):

I have an early meeting to attend and then I'm going to post this year's "Quad State Herf & Cigar B Que 16" event on Facebook as well as on here and a couple of other cigar boards. I have all the regulars that have chimed in, called me and sent me messages pre-signed up. Just as we do every year, we'll find a way to accommodate everyone that attends this great event. I see that the Yankees came up short in the 11th inning last night, 4 - 3 loss always hurts after coming back being down. They're off tonight and will take on the Rays in Tampa tomorrow evening. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday already. We had a productive weekend overall: Saturday, I stopped by Kassel Supply Inc and ordered a yard of 3/4" white stone; stopped in at Ramos Upholstery shop to get our dining room chairs & bench redone (ordered material - 3 weeks and then will drop off pieces to get reupholstered); then came home to split a cord of wood by hand to stay in shape and get some wood ready for the fire pit. Yesterday, Beth and I took a ride through the country side and then stopped in to Craft Draft to have a couple of cold ones. Came home to watch the NASCAR race and a big congrats to Alex Bowman for grabbing the checkered flag at the end. The Yankees did not fair to well this weekend but the NY Rangers took both games from the NJ Devils. Have a great week all and enjoy...... :tu

Got a lot done this past weekend: Saturday was definitely a yard work day as Beth and I spread a ton (1 truck load) of 3/4" white stone; weeded all the flower beds and then I finished by cutting the grass which took all the energy I had. The Aroma Cigar Room was hoppin' this past Thursday and to answer your question about Schlesinger's: Neil is in the process of selling it to a couple from NYC but is keeping 1% ownership so they can keep it a cigar bar / restaurant / store. He's in his 70s and his three adult children have no interest in the place. Hopefully the new owners bring the place back to life and all...... :tu

Good morning all, the coffee has been on since 0410 and it's back to work Tuesday (only 2 days of work this week as Beth and I are flying to Deadwood, SD Thursday morning). We had a good weekend overall even with a couple of days of rain which was well needed. The Yankees lost four in a row, lets go fellas and turn this around. Kyle Larsen took the checkered flag in Sunday's NASCAR race and won us $100 in the pool at the American Legion. Yesterday, we facilitated the Wreath Laying Ceremony at West Point and then came home and grilled a rack of ribs low and slow that came out great. Stopped in the Deadwood Cigar Company and a number of breweries in the area. Today we’re heading to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. For those of you that are wondering, we have been going to Aroma now for a good 6 months. They are very supportive and will be at this year's Quad State Herf handing out cigars under to same 10' x 20' tent with Francisco Almonte (owner of DBL Cigars) who will be rolling cigars as well. Schlesinger's was our go to spot for for the last 15+ years and we needed a change. They have recently sold and the new owners are making changes. Anyway, it was good to see the Yankees win again last night with a 3 - 2 victory over the Blue Jays. These two teams will meet again tonight and hopefully the Bombers can do a three-peat. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday. We had a great three day weekend starting with Friday as the President gave all Federal Employees off for Juneteenth. We had my office over for a BBQ all day and roughly 15 friends ended up coming over to spend the day. Saturday, I headed down to Philadelphia to attend the "Gathering of Heroes" with five Medal of Honorees. It's an annual fundraiser for the Philadelphia Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation. We had a great weekend over all: Friday, Beth and I relaxed at home enjoying a nice dinner and a few cold ones; Saturday, we did a mini winery tour (3 wineries and a cidery) with a couple of friends in the Hudson Valley. Yesterday, I did some yard work in the morning and then sat back for the rest of day with a nice cigar and a few cold ones and barbecued some wings. We had a busy and fun weekend: Beth and I along with a number of friends went to a fundraiser at Handsome Devil BBQ on Saturday. Great cigars paired with beer, wine and whiskey and some top notch BBQ as well. Then afterwards, Beth and I went to out nephew's house to celebrate a birthday which was above and beyond. There was a fire truck converted into a pizza truck, lots of dear friends flew in from all over the US. We had a great weekend overall: got to spend some time with a lot of our close friends at the Army vs. UConn football game tailgate before and after the game, Army won 52 - 21; yesterday Beth and I relaxed at one of our nephew's house smoking cigars, sipping on a few cold ones and sharing dinner of smoked chicken, pulled pork and all the fixings. Unfortunately, the Yankees didn't do so well this weekend as they are 1.5 games behind in the Wild Card race and the Eagles lost as well against the 49ers 17 - 11. Beth and I had a fun and busy weekend: Saturday, I got my new Jeep serviced (7000 mile check up), and then went to the American Legion in New Windsor, NY; Sunday did some early shopping and then sold $1200+ in 50/50 tickets at the annual Legion Special back at the American Legion. Afterwards, everyone was invited back to the Legion Hall for lunch and refreshments. This week is Installation Fall Clean-Up on West Point and our department (roughly 17 of us) will rake up the leaves around our office building today. We have to rake every thing to the curb edge and the leaf sucker truck will pick it up from there. Tomorrow, Army has their last home football game scheduled for the season and it's against UMass. It's a noon kick off which means we'll be in the EOC by 0500 up and running. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on as always and it's back to work Monday already. Saturday was another win for Army, the final score was Army 33, UMass 17. Yesterday, Beth and I raked the yard and then we sat out to enjoy a few cold ones and a fine cigar. For dinner, we enjoyed a rack of ribs that went low and slow on the grill for a good 3+ hours on 275 °F. We had a great time down in New York City on Thanksgiving, the parade great and we enjoyed ourselves throughout the day. Yesterday, Beth and I had our Thanksgiving dinner and are in the middle of transitioning the house and yard from Fall to Winter holiday. Tomorrow is the Army vs. Navy football game starting at 1500 (3 pm). This year it'll be played in MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NY (home of the NY Giants & the NY Jets). I don't have to work the game this year, so Beth and I will be at the America Legion in New Windsor, NY with my fellow Army and Navy veterans cheering and enjoying the game. We had a good weekend over all: The final score of the Army / Navy football game wasn't what we wanted, 17 - 13 Navy won. It was a hard fought fight till end. Good morning everyone, the coffee has been on for a while now and it's Friday! We had a good time at the Aroma Cigar Room last night, the usual suspects were there enjoying themselves. Today is my last working day for the year as I have a lot of use-or-lose vacation time and I have it calculated that I won't lose any by the end of the year. Monday morning, Beth and I along with a few of our relatives are flying to Clearwater Beach, FL for the holidays. We plan to hang on the beach as much as possible and make trips to local breweries, wineries and such. We'll definitely be stopping in Ybor City and smoking a few cigars there. We had a good weekend overall: Saturday, we had a celebration of life for one of Beth's brothers that passed away before Christmas and we're honoring another one of her brothers that passes two weeks prior this coming Friday. Good morning everyone, the espresso coffee is on and it's Friday! Today, we will lay Beth's brother Tommy to rest as he passes away peacefully back in December with his family by his side. He passed away from Alzheimer's which is a terrible disease and it's even worse for the caregivers that have to watch their love ones fade away. Tommy was a great father, grandfather, brother and husband to his loving family. Rest in peace brother, you are dearly missed and will not be forgotten. Until we meet again....... :)
