Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on now for a good hour. Well, the Northeast has another storm headin' our way in roughly 24 hours. We already have an Adverse Weather Condition Conference call scheduled for tomorrow morning at 0400, but I don't think they'll close West Point down as the brunt of the storm won't hit us until the afternoon. Today being Thursday, we'll be heading over to Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars this evening to enjoy a primo cigar or two and watch the GoDaddy.com Bowl with Middle Tennessee taking on Miami of Ohio. Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on since 0345 as we had our scheduled Adverse Weather Condition Conference call. With the snow on its way, we have called a "Code White" and closed the the West Point schools. Code White simply means that if you want to take the day off and you have the leave time saved up, stay home. Well, we had a good time last night at Schlesinger's with the regular crowd and a few new faces as well. Congrats to Miami of Ohio for defeating Middle Tenn. with a final score of 35 to 21. Tonight we have the AT&T Cotton Bowl with LSU taking on Texas A&M which should be a good matchup. Good morning all and yes, a fresh pot of coffee is on. Well, we ended up with a good six plus inches of snow yesterday shutting down West Point around 1200 (noon). Congrats to LSU for winning last night's Cotton Bowl over Texas A&M with a final score of 41 - 24. Today we have BBVA Compass Bowl with Pittsburgh taking on Kentucky at 1200 (noon) televised on ESPN. Then later on, we have the first NFL playoff game with the Saints taking on the Seahawks followed by the Jets playing the Colts. Both games are on NBC today starting at 1630 (4:30pm) and then the latter at 2000 (8pm). I hope everyone has a great day and enjoys a favorite or two or....... :banger

Good morning all and yes, the Killer Beans are brewin'. A big congrats to the Jets and the Seahawks for winning their playoff games yesterday as well as to Pittsburg for winning their Bowl game. Today we have two more wildcard games on with the Ravens taking on the Chiefs at 1300 (1pm) which will be on CBS and then the Eagles versus the Packers at 1630 (4:30pm) which will be televised on FOX. I'm definitely rooting for the Eagles and I'd like to see the Ravens advance but I wouldn't mind seeing the Chiefs move ahead as well. Later on this evening, we have another Bowl game on with Nevada taking on Boston College in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl which will be televised at 2100 (9pm) and seen on ESPN. Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on now for a good hour. Well, congrats to the Ravens for advancing yesterday but I can't say the same for Michael Vick and my Eagles. I thought Philly was going to pull it out at the end with a winning touch down but as we all know, it was an interception instead. Oh well, there's always next year I say. Congrats to Nevada for the victory over Boston College last night in their Bowl game with a final score of 20 to 13. Tonight is the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game with Oregon taking on Auburn which starts at 2030 (8:30pm) and will be televised on ESPN / ESPN3. Good morning all and yes, the pot of joe has been on for a while now. Congrats to Auburn for last night BCS Bowl victory and for being this year's National Champions. The final score was 22 to 19 and I give Oregon their congrats as well for a game well played. Well, we are getting ready for another winter storm coning in this evening. Right now, they are predicting anywhere from 8 to 12 inches depending where you are at in the Hudson Valley. Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on as always. Well, we got the snow fall of 8 to 14 inches as they predicted and it's still falling. The entire area schools are all shut down to include the Military Academy. After a while, I'll head outside and start cleaning of the Jeeps, driveway and walk ways. Definitely a good day to smoke a stogie outside afterwards and enjoy the fresh air. Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on now for a good hour. Snow totals for the past two days here in the Hudson Valley is roughly 10 inches plus. Is wasn't that bad for us as they were expecting plus the snow was light and fluffy. According to NOAA, for the next couple of days the highest temps are in the 20s and the lows are in the single digits:

I went over to Hudson Valley Cigars yesterday afternoon and enjoyed a couple of primo cigars watchin' some college basketball with the fellas. With all the recent snow storms that we've had, there's quite a bit of snow getting built up on the roof of our house. I've called around to the nearby Lowes & Home Depots and they are all out of roof rakes. The Pro Bowl ended up with the NFC winning 48 - 28 over the AFC. It was a good game but it seemed like a scrimmage game to me as some of the rules were weird, no blitzing the quarterback, come on now. As a result of the sleet and freezing rain right now and what is forecasted for the remainder of the day, West Point is at a "Code Red" again today. Well, yesterday's Daytona 500 definitely was an exciting one with plenty of accidents and 3 wide racing. A big congrats to Trevor Bayne for winning the race, the youngest ever and driving for the Wood Brothers who haven't won a race in 10 years:

Good morning everyone and yes, the special Sunday coffee is brewing. Well, Kyle Busch did it again yesterday by winning the Nationwide Series race with Carl Edwards right on his heals all the way. What was amazing was that Kyle Busch led every lap of the race and that hasn't been done for years. Good morning all and yes, the joe has been brewing for almost an hour now. Well, the Yankee definitely earned their nickname of the "Bronx Bombers" last night as they crushed the Orioles 13 - 2. This weekend, the Yanks take on the Mets at home which is always a New York favorite. Good morning all, the coffee has been on since 0430 and T.G.I.F. It was great see the Yankees sweep the Rangers with another win yesterday as they beat them in 12 innings with a final score of 3 - 2. Today they'll be in Chicago for a 1420 (2:20pm) game against the Cubs. Should be a good series and hopefully they take 2 out of 3 games if not another sweep. Well, it was a great day yesterday at the Pocono Race Track as the West Point Cadets and the MP Honor Guard did a great job with the opening ceremonies and presenting the Colors. Around 1500 (3pm), it began to rain so they red flagged the race and we jumped in my jeep to head back home. 2 hours later, they dried the track and I got home at the same time to see the end safely at home. Well, yesterday was no slow day at all at West Point as the Installation received numerous lighting hits with trees and telephone / power poles down all over. We activated the Emergency Operations Center and it was staffed in no time. 3 hours later, all was handled and no one was hurt. Morning all and yes, the coffee has been brewin' since 0430 as usual. Well, it was good to see the Yankees bounce back and beat the Angels 9 - 3 last night. Today these two teams will have a day game with the first pitch thrown at 1305 (1:05pm). I was thinking of going down there and catching the game but I have a few things to do at work and also take care of some more Quad State Herf stuff this evening at Hudson Valley Cigars / Schlesinger's Cigar Bar. Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on since 0430 as always. Well, the Yankees won again yesterday 6 - 5 with help from Robie Cano as he hit a grand slam in the 7th. The Bombers will be taking on the Rays this evening starting at 1905 (7:05pm) here in the Bronx. The NASCAR racers will be in Watkins Glen, NY this weekend maneuvering one of only a few of the road race courses of the season. I hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys....... :)

Good morning all and yes, the Sunday morning coffee is on. Well, it was good to see the Yankees win yesterday 9 - 2 with help from Jorge Posada as he had 6 RBIs which included a Grand Slam. These two teams will meet again today at 1305 (1:05pm) weather permitting as they are calling for heavy rains off and on today. The NASCAR race up at Watkins Glen will most likely be rained out as well if this rain continues to head north. I hope everyone has a good one and enjoys (while staying dry)........ :)

Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on since 0400 as I just couldn't sleep any longer. Well, the Yankees game in the Bronx got rained out as well as the NASCAR race up in Watkins Glen, NY. The Yankees game has been postponed to the next time the Rays are in town which is the 20 - 22 September. The NASCAR will hopefully go on today starting around 1000 (10am) live on ESPN. I just checked the 7 day forecast on NOAA and it looks good for this Saturday's Quad State Herf:

Got a lot on my mind with all of the last minute things to get done for Saturday's Quad State Herf and ensuring I'm not forgetting anything. I see that the Yankees lost last night but so did the Red Sox, so no change in the standings. The Bombers will be moving on to take on the Twins this evening at 2010 (8:10pm) right there in downtown Minneapolis. Hopefully the Bombers get a "W" tonight and have a good 4 games series with the Twinkies. Well, being that it's Thursday, we'll definitely be at Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars this evening enjoying a couple of primo stogies and finalizing the head count for Saturday. Good morning all, the coffee has been on since 0430 and it's back to work again. We spent the last 2 day at the West Point Emergency Operations Center preparing for "Irene" as well as reacting to her once it hit. There's devastation all over Orange County and I'm sure it's the same all the way up the coast from Florida to Maine. Now it's time for recovery which will take quite some time for some as the picture on the television and all over the internet are incredible. It's time to work together again and help one another out....... :)

I just checked NOAA and they are predicting more rain for the next couple of days, hopefully this lets up for a while and dries out a bit. Good morning all and yes, the joe is brewin' as we speak. Well, the Yankees lost to the Orioles again in extra innings with the same results of a 5 - 4 loss. One good thing is that the Red Sox lost as well, so no harm, no foul. The Bombers will be in LA for the weekend taking on the Angels with a late start tonight. Also this weekend, the NASCAR racers will be in Richmond, VA starting tonight with a night race and finishing up tomorrow evening with another one.
