Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on. I do a daily post on a number of other borads and thought it would be cool here as well. Well, I took a day off today making it a nice 4 day weekend away from West Point. I have some running around to do today but hopefully later on I'll be able to watch some more great college football as Beth and I did yesterday. I hope everyone has a super weekend and gets to enjoy a few of thier favorites through out it....... :usa

Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on. In a little while, I'm gonna head over to Hometown Bagels & Deli (formely known as Bubba's Bagels) and pick up a couple of tastey treats for breakfast. http://www.hometownbagelsanddeli.com/ Then later on today, one of our neices is having a bridal shower so the guys that are not busy will be heading on over to Schelsingers Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars to enjoy a cigar or two. There are a couple of Bowl games on this afternoon so that should be cool. This evening we have two NFL playoff games on as well which will finish off the night. I hope everyone has a super Saturday and gets to enjoy a favorite or two or........ :chr

Good morning all and yes, the joe is brewin'. I had a great day yesterday with a nice stop at Schlesinger's Cigar Bar where I got to enjoy a Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Emperor with at least 10+ years of age and then a mystery stick that I was gifted by Saxjazzman. Our buddy Ralph (ilcchef2) showed up as well and we exchanged sticks as always. There were some great football games on and it was good to see Utah go 13 - 0 for the season. Today, I'll be getting ready for the Eagles / Vikings game with the hopes that Philly will be taking on the NY Giants next week. I hope everyone has a great day and enjoys it as well........ :D

Good Morning.

Finally a day off here. Coffee and a RASCC ready to go :)

Enjoy your morning & smoke, Dave! Just finished a cup of Joe with a nice, smooth La Aurora Leoninos Robusto that had rested 2 months. Might need another month to be perfect, but very good, nonetheless. Maybe a little golf for me this morning, then watch the NFL playoff games this afternoon. Have a great Sunday, All!:ss

Good morning all and here's to a new work week. The coffee is on and it looks like bagels are on this morning's breakfast menu. Well, the Eagles beat the Vikings 26 - 14 which equates to a Eagles / Giants match up next Sunday at 1300 (1pm) in the Meadowlands. That should be another great game and I'll be hootin' and howlin' as I did yesterday. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week and gets to enjoy a few of your favorites through out it........ :D

Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on as always. Congrats to Texas for winning over Ohio State last night in the Fiesta Bowl, 24 - 21. That leaves only the BCS Championship game this Thursday with Florida taking on Oklahoma at 2000 (8pm). That should be a back and forth game as well and it's still up in the air as to who the defined winner is. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day and enjoys....... :)

Good morning all and always, the coffee is on. As a matter of fact, it's been on since 0330 (3:30 am) since we had an Adverse Weather Condition Conference Call resulting from a major ice storm. Currently at West Point we have a "Code Red" condition until 1000 (10am) which means everything is shut down. After that, we go to a "Code White" for the remainder of the day and that simply equates to if you have the vacation time saved up, you can stay home with no questions asked. Last night's GMAC Bowl was a blow out with Tulsa Stomping Ball State, 45-13. Here is a down and dirty link from ESPN stating the facts:

http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=3815219

As for today, we have a variety of NHL and NBA games on as well as a number of college basketball match ups. I hope everyone has a safe day and enjoys a favorite or two if the get the opportunity........ :tu

I had a good time last night started off the evening at Schlesingers Ciagr Bar enjoying a couple of my favorites and then indulging in some great conversation. Hudson Valley Cigars was packed due to the winter weather and of course the crowd that was there to see the BCS Championship game. This weekend will be filled with NFL playoff games and I'll be hootin' and howlin' during the Eagles / Giants game Sunday at 1300 (1pm), GO EAGLES!!!! Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on. I had a great day yesterday, got a nice box of cigars in from CigarBid(yeah, I still visit the devil now and then :D ), talked with a number of S / BOTL on the phone about the upcoming Quad State Herf and then had a nice quiet evening home with Beth. Today, the weather guessers are calling for 7 to 9 inches of snow starting this afternoon and continuing through into tomorrow morning:

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=West+Point&state=NY&site=OKX&textField1=41.3623&textField2=-74.0273

I've got some running around to do prior to that in preperation of Sunday's Eagles Football party. I see that the odds are now 4 1/2 points advantage for the Giants (3 for just being home team), so even the bookies are thinking that this is going to be a close game. May the better team prevail, but I got to root for the Eagle. I hope everyone has a great day and enjoys a favorite or two or......... :)

Good morning all and yes, the joe is brewin'. I'm plannin' on a big breakfast today with bacon, eggs, homefries and all of the rest of the fixin's to get ready for today's big game at 1300 (1pm). The Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants will go head to head in the Meadowlands and it's going to be a good game and the better of the two teams will be victor. I'll be rootin' for Philly and to get things going, I have posted the link for the Eagles fight song:

http://play.rbn.com/?url=nfl/nfl/open/eagles/demand/fightsong.rm&proto=rtsp&rbnkey=1

Then, later on today, the Pittsburg Steelers will battle with the San Diego Chargers @ 1645 (4:45pm) in Pittsburg. That should be another tough game and hopefully the Steelers win that one for my brother-in-law Gary who's a big fan of them as well. Anyway, I hope everyone has a super Sunday and gets to enjoy a favorite cigar or two....... :D

Good morning everyone and as always, the joe is brewin'. Yesterday, it was a great day at the office. The majority of us there are retired military which equates to everyone is from different parts of the US originally. There are only two of us out of 18 that are Eagles fans and all the local Giants fans finally admitted it that the cream raised to the top. Now I can hardly wait till next Sunday as our Director is a Cardinals fan and he said that they would have rather played the Giants as well. Good morning all, the coffee is on and a ig TGIF!!!! We had a great time last night at Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars with a packed crowd of the Thursday night crowd and few ole' faces I haven't seen in a while. We took care of some business as far as the upcoming Quad State Herf IV and we definitely have a Standby List now. I will do my best in letting all that want to attend be a part of this great "Cause" but I want to ensure that there is still room for all to enjoy and be comfortable. As far as this weekends big sporting event, I'll be watching the Rolex 24 At Daytona which starts Saturday at 1530 (3:30pm). It's the unofficial kick off for the racing season and for all you motor heads out there, here is the link for your convenience:

Good morning all, the coffee has been on since 0400 (4am) and I'm ready for some good Army chow. The weather guessers are calling for a good storm to hit some time tonight as it's making its way across the US right now. Here is a link to www.noaa.gov to give you a better idea:

http://www.goes.noaa.gov/ECIR4.html

They are calling for a mixture of snow, frozen rain and sleet. Makes for a tough ride into work and even worse for the kiddies on school buses and the ones that walk. Good morning all and as always, the coffee is on. Well, the weather guessers were correct this time and we have a nice storm presently hittin' us. We had an Adverse Weather Condition Conference Call this morning at 0400 and have come to an agreement that West Point will be closed "Code Red" all day. Here is the link for the West Point site that will give you the exact explanation wat a Code Red is:

http://www.westpoint.edu/WeatherConditions/SnowPolicy.htm

USMA Snow Policy (Non-emergency positions)

"WEST POINT IS CODE RED." Only employees in emergency positions should report to work. Employees in non-emergency positions should not report to work until their next regularly scheduled workday.

There were car accidents all over and they closed the main road going over Storm King Mountain resulting from it. We had to go all back roads around the moutain which turned a 20 minute ride into 2 1/2 hours. I did get to talk with a number of BOTL which was cool but the ride still sucked going 10 miles per hour. Anyway, we are 2 days and a wake up from the annual Quad State Herf and almost everything is done. I hope everyone has a "Happy Humpday" and enjoys......... :)

Good morning all, the coffee is on and it looks like bagels are on this morning's breakfast menu. I've been watching the weather guessers at www.noaa.gov for the past few days to see the trend for this weekends Quad State Herf and it's actually looking good:

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41. Light wind becoming south between 11 and 14 mph.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of snow showers after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 47.

The party tent goes up tomorrow and at the same time I'll be home (taking the day off) making goodie bags and doing those last minute things to ensure this event will be a big hit. Today being Thursday, we'll be at Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars tonight enjoying a couple of ceegars and talkin' with the local S / BOTL. Good morning all and a big TGIF!!!! Well, we had good last night at Schlesingers / Hudson Valley Cigars smoking primo stogies and talkin' about the upcoming Quad State Herf this Saturday. We also talked quite a bit about the fact that CigarFest 2009 sold out so quick and that only a few of us got tickets and the other dozen of the regulars didn't get a chance to get theirs. If any of you have extra tickets, just let me know and I've got a number of S / BOTL that will buy them right away. Today I'm only working till 1130 so I can make goodie bags for the event and organize all the door prizes and raffle items. I hope everyone has a great day and for you all that are traveling today to get to NY, be safe and take your time. Enjoy a stick or two and I'll be back on later on....... :D

Good morning all and today's the Quad State Herf IV, woooooo hoooooo!!!!! Rick (rrick57), my wife Beth and I packed up over 110 boxes of cigars in goodie bags yesterday afternoon. We already had 30 boxes pre-packed and Altadis USA, Oliva and a couple of others will be at the event handing out cigars as well. All-in-all, everyone will leave with roughly 20 cigars a piece and then there are the raffle items that totally blew me away. So in roughly 7 hours the fun will begin. Remember the admin notes and parking map that I posted on the Herf thread Feb 4th to make things go nice and smooth. Safe travels for all of you driving and don't forget your cameras. I hope everyone has a super day and enjoys........ :D

Good morning all and a big TGIF!!!! I took today off to make it a nice 4 day weekend. Last night we had a great time at Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars with a full house of S / BOTL. We enjoyed primo sticks and talked about last weekend's Herf. Besides the regulars, Israel (uptown_isy) - becoming a regular :D , Carlos (Saxjazzman) - also becoming a regular, and Captain Curtis Edwards and his wife (Commander of the Wounded Warriors) and a handful of others from West Point joined in on the fun. Well tonight, Beth and I have reservations for the Black Forest Mill Restaurant in Highland Mill, NY. A quaint Authentic German place with outstanding meals, full line of german beers and a real german umpapa band.

Good morning everyone and as always, the coffee is on. It was a good day yesterday and we had a superb dinner at the Black Forest Mill. I had one of the specials, the SweineHaxen (roasted pig knuckles) over a bed of sauerkraut with potatoe dumpling on the side. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about:

Add a couple of cold german tap beers and it was a meal fit for a king. Afterwards, we came home and I watched the NASCAR truck race which was a good one and Todd Bodine won it now 2 years in a row back to back. Today, is another race in Daytona, the Nationwide Series (the old Busch series) and then tomorrow is the Daytona 500 with all the big boys racin'. Beth and I have the house warming party to attend so hopefully my nephews show up and we'll enjoy a cigar on the front porch as the ladies sit around talk in the living room. Well, yesterday's Daytona 500 was a little bit of a let down with a rain shortened finish giving Matt Kenseth in the #17 the win by default. It was a good race up to that point and when the NASCAR officials called it, we were all saying, "what the f**k". Oh well, there's always next week where we'll find the racers in Fontana, CA. Good morning everyone and Happy Hump Day. The coffee is on and it looks like bagels are on this morning's breakfast menu. I see that the MLB players are showing up for Spring Training and the big news of course is A-Rod admitting that he took the steroids while he was a Texas Ranger:

Not sure what to think of it all, I just hope the press doesn't make a big thing of it and lets the guys concentrate on the game it self.

The weather guessers are calling for a mixture of rain & snow today and I'd rather see the latter as it's gets a little slick out there when the rain decides to freeze up and turn into a sheet of ice:

Good morning all and yes, the joe is brewin' as always. Well we all had a great time up at Israel's (uptown_isy) shop yesterday (Uptown Cigar Company). We smoke some great cigars from the islands, enjoy a few special bottles (variety of port & red wines, silngle malt scotch, variety of microbrew beers), all sorts of coffees, pan after pan of shrimps and then a never ending surplus of steamed clams. About 14 of us went up in total and Isy, Diane, Michelle and the rest of the regulars made us feel very welcome. Thank you all for the day and I'm sure that we'll be up again soon. When I got home, I watched the NASCAR Nationwide series race and Kyle Busch won it and made history to be the 1st ever driver to win two different series races in the same day. He won the NASCAR Camping World Series truck race earlier in the day. I'm not a fan of Busch but congrats goes out to him and the entire Joe Gibbs racing team for making history. Well today is the big boys day, the NASCAR Sprint Cup series racing at 1700 (5pm) EST and I hope Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the #88 Amp / National Guard car does a good job today. It's only the 2nd race of the season but as everyone knows, they all count points wise to be the champ at the end of the season. Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on since 0330 (3:30am). We had an Adverse Weather Condition Conference Call this morning at 0400 (4am) as scheduled resulting from this current storm we are having. We did come to an agreement to call a "Code Red" closing West Point for the day because of the high winds and current snow drifts making it nearly impossible to get to work.

"WEST POINT IS CODE RED ALL DAY." Only employees in emergency positions should report to work. Employees in non-emergency positions should not report to work until their next regularly scheduled workday.

http://www.westpoint.edu/WeatherConditions/SnowPolicy.htm

We have already received a good 7" of snow and before it's all over, it looks like we'll get another 3 to 4 inches by this evening. I'll go out later on and clean off the cars to make it easier for when it's finished and then it be a final touch up here and there. Good morning all, the coffee is on and TGIF!!!!! Well, we had a great time last night at Schlesinger's cigar bar, the usual suspects showed up along with a few new faces. We did discuss some news that just came know; Carlos (Saxjazzman) just found out that he came down on orders to Fort Benning, GA. Once I find out when he'll be leaving us, we'll be throwing him a send off herf / party, more details to follow. Well, for this weekend, I've got a driving class tomorrow (DDC). If I didn't have that, Israel (uptown_isy) has a NUB event going on with Sam Leccia showing and telling his story behind it all:

http://www.nubcigar.com/creator

So if you have no plans and want to enjoy a Saturday afternoon cigar event, join Israel and his crew at Uptown Cigars in Kingston , NY:

It was great to see Sam Leccia, Rick from Oliva, Michelle & Bruce and all the crew from Uptown. Primo cigars, superb variety of single malt scotches, tastey treats and it was great to see all the folks attending the event. Today should be a great weather day with temps reaching the lower 60s, so I'll be on my back deck barbequing and smoking a favorite cigar or two while watching the Yankees taking on the Twins at 1315 (1:15pm). Plus the Yankees loss Saturday didn't give me any reason to do anything special on-line. Yesterday on the other hand, they won and split the 4 game series with Cleveland 2 a piece. Oakland is in town now and they'll be at it tonight at 1905 (7:05pm) with Andy Pettitte on the mound. Anyway, I hope all of you have a great week and enjoy a few of your favorites through out it....... :ss

Good morning all and as always, the joe is brewin'. Well yesterday's Yankees / A's baseball game was a good one. It went into the bottom of the 14th inning and Melky Cabrera hit a two-run homer winning it for the Bombers, 9 - 7. They are off today and will be in Boston tomorrow evening at 1910 (7:10pm) taking on thier rival Red Sox. Well, since today is Thursday and all, we'll be at Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson valley Cigars this evening around 1900 (7pm) enjoying primo ceegars and catching up on the world news. Well, we had a great time last night at Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars with a packed house to include LouieD (who is now definitely a Thursday night club member) and a good 50 other S / BOTL. The big talk was next weeks CigarFest 2009 and we have a good dozen or so of us heading out Friday at noon sharp. As far as this weekend, the Yankees are in Boston with the 1st game this evening at 1910 (7:10pm) with Joba Chamberlain startin' on the mound for the Bombers. Also, NASCAR is at the biggest track on the curcuit, Talladega Superspeedway: http://www.nascar.com/races/tracks/tal/index.html. There is also the NHL playoffs in full force as well as the PGA and other sporting events all weekend. Since Beth is a big time Mets fan, we are going to see them play the Nationals tomorrow down at the new Citi Field. Should be a great day weather wise and hopefully I can get a cigar in while we are tailgating down in Queens, NY. They'll be back at today at Fenway at 1610 (4:10pm) and hopefully A.J. Burnett has another good outing and we tie up this series. We're heading out in a bit to Queens, NY to the new Citi Field to catch the Mets vs. Nationals game which has the 1st pitch going off at 1310 (1:10pm). I should be a great day to be out at a ball game as the weather guessers are predicting the temps to be in the mid 80s and sunny:

Good morning all and Happy Sunday. Well, it was a great day yesterday at the new Mets stadium (Citi Field), we all had a good time and enjoyed the experience. Listened to the Yankees / Red Sox game on the way home and it was a battle back and forth with Boston finishing on the top 16 - 11. The two teams will meet again this evening at 2005 (8:05pm) for one more battle in the ole' Fenway Park. Today I'll be on the back deck relaxing with a couple of primo sticks, cool drinks, bbq on an I'll be watching the NASCAR race from Talladega Superspeedway: http://www.nascar.com/races/tracks/tal/index.html. I'm not sure what I'm going to buy, probably a new Jeep or a Dodge / Chrysler off of a lot marked to shut down. More to follow once I get home from the car buying adventure. Last night, the Yankees won in Texas 9 - 2 and now share the 1st place position with the Red Sox:

Good morning all and as always, the coffee is brewin'. Well, after checking our a few different vehicles, Beth and I decided on the 2009 Jeep Liberty 4 x 4:

http://www.jeep.com/en/2009/liberty/

We got it for a great dal as Rallye Chrysler / Jeep is on the hit list to shut down by June 7th. It was a matter of what we wanted to spend and they did it. Last night we had a good time at Schlesingers seeing the Thursday night S/BOTL and hanging outside for a while. Israel came down early from Uptown Cigars and we talked about the upcoming TESB Herf & Benefit that is coming up June 13th @ Uptown Cigar. It has turned into a major block party with a good 150+ guest attending. For more information, look here:

Good morning everyone and yes, the coffee is on. Yesterday at work we enjoyed watching the Yankees attempt to come back from a 7 - 1 deficit only to come up short by one run loosing to the Blue Jays 7 - 6. Tonight they take on the Twins in Minnesota at 2010 (8:10pm) with C.C. Sabathia startin' on the mound for the Bombers. Anyway, I hope all of you have a great day and enjoy........ :banger

Good morning everyone, the joe is brewin' and a big TGIF!!! First off, it was great to see the Yankees win yesterday and sweep the Twins in the Metrodome for thier final time ever. The Bombers are now tied with the Red Sox for 1st place in the American League East which is very cool considering we are going to the All-Star break. We take on the Angels this weekend which should be a great match up since the bats are presently hot and the fielding is on it as well. Last night we had a great time smokin' primo sticks and conversing at Schlesinger's / Hudson Valley Cigars with a good crowd of the Thursday night gang. Anyway, I hope all of you have a super weekend and enjoy it with a few of your favorites...... :ss

Yesterday was another great weather day as we all sat out by the pool side and relaxed enjoying a few of our favorites. It looks like the summer is finally upon us as the weather guessers are predicting the same for the whole week:

Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on. Yesterday afternoon was enjoyable having the 6 new Cadets and giving them a chance to call home and offering them some BBQ and ice cream. They will be heading out to Camp Buckner in a couple of days and will be out there until the 10th of next month learning basic soldier field training, land navigation, patrolling, etc. Since today is Thursday, we'll be heading over to Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars to enjoy the finer things in life and catch up on the world's news that I have missed.
