We had a great weekend: Saturday morning after the Honor Flight send-off, I went to the Aroma Cigar Room and hung out with the fellas; yesterday, we had a another great day at the American Legion chilli cook-off where there were 12 entries. Army won 17 - 14 holding off Holy Cross at the end. Their next and final game of the season is against Navy which is Saturday, December 9th and it'll be played at in Foxboro, Mass (Gillette Stadium - home of the New England Patriots). Beth and I will be in Key West watching it in one of our favourite sports bars rooting the Black Knights to victory. Good morning everyone, the espresso coffee is on and it's a crisp Saturday morning here in the Hudson Valley. The past two days have been real nice weather wise and the next chance of rain isn't until early Monday morning. We put the outside Christmas lights and decorations up yesterday and the tree will go up either tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday evening. Today, Beth and I are heading over to the Cornwall Christmas Bazaar at Munger Cottage and then afterwards to Post 1796 American Legion in New Windsor for their Christmas Craft Fair & Food. Saturday was fun at the American Legion and afterwards, Beth and I went over to the Newburgh Brewery for a couple of cold ones and some dinner. Yesterday, Beth continued to transform the inside of the house to a Christmas theme and I went out to blow some leaves in the yard. For the remainder of the day, we sat back and watched football and it was good to see the Giants win over the Patriots and definitely nice to see the Eagles beat the Bills in overtime. I only have a 2 work week as Beth and I are flying to Key West, FL the first thing Wednesday morning. it's our annual vacation visit and we can hardly wait to arrive. We had a good weekend overall: got some more Christmas light hung Saturday morning and then went to the Aroma Cigar Room for the afternoon; yesterday, we watched the Jets and Eagles both lose to their opponents after doing some shopping for our trip. We’ve stopped at a couple of our favorite watering holes and wet on a restaurant tour last night at Stock Island. Good morning everyone, the coffee has been on since 0410 as always and it's back to work Monday already. I got our storm prep done Saturday and I'm glad I did. We got a good 11 inches of snow and it was wet and heavy. Unfortunately, halfway through, my snow blower stoped throwing snow. I checked the shear pins and they are all intact. Further investigations are forth coming once I get a chance to take it apart and give it a look see. Now that the regular NFL season is over, the playoff schedule is set. We had a great time at Aroma last night, the place was hoppin' and the regular crew was there enjoying top shelf stogies. We're trying to finalize our flights down to the Great Smoke in February. We're heading out the 21st and returning the 25th. Currently looking at Westchester County to West Palm Beach or Newark to West Palm Beach. Both locations are costly (Sunday flight home is above average), looking everyday for a good deal. We're gonna decide soon and book our flights before everything is taken. Weather wise, Mother Nature hasn't started dropping any snow yet. I'm heading to West Point shortly and I see that all we will get as of now is about 1.8" in an eleven hour period. There's not much going on today at the office except for the day to day operations to include meetings and emergency exercise preparations. In reference to our trip next month down to West Palm Beach for the "Great Smoke", we all booked our flights down to West Palm 'One Way". We got a good price through JetBlue from Newark, NJ for $104 direct non-stop. The return trip on Sunday the 25th is still high, watching it everyday to see if the price drops a little. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday already. We had a nice weekend filled with cigars and a few cold ones: Saturday morning was spent at Aroma with the fellas and then in the afternoon I grilled the rack of ribs low and slow; yesterday, we met our dear friends Kristen and Stephan at the Newburgh Brewery for a couple and then we all headed over to the Shamrock Tavern for the chilli cook-off. It's always a good time there with friends especially when you go in and know a bunch of the regulars as well. Enjoy your week everyone...... :tu

Good morning everyone, the coffee is on as always and it's looking like we have another 3 days of nothing but sunny days here in the Hudson Valley. I have an update in reference to the Great Smoke that is roughly 2 weeks away: we have our return tickets now, flying back Monday morning versus Sunday - big savings; the house we are renting has been extended a day at a discount; the 12 passenger van we are renting also got extended a day making it easier to get back to the airport instead of calling an Uber; we have 10 of us total staying in the 5 bedroom house, 3 of the guys are flying home Sunday because of work on Monday; lastly, one of the fellas couldn't go this year so he's renting a van to take us to the Newark Airport and then again on Monday to pick us up for $50 a person - deal. We're arriving Wednesday; Miami on Thursday to visit Aganorsa Leaf in the morning; Ortega Cigars visit in the afternoon; Friday, back to Miami to visit Espinosa Cigars and then My Father headquarters in the afternoon. Saturday is the main event at the South Florida Fair Grounds and Sunday is another Funday relaxing at the house pool side. I'll need another vacation when I get home just to relax and recover, LOL. Congrats to the Chiefs for their OT win over the 49ers and being crowned the Super Bowl champs again. Good game overall, defence made it tighter than I thought it would be. It's NASCAR Speed Week with the Daytona 500 this coming Sunday. Also, MLB will be starting up soon with pitchers and catchers reporting this week. Good morning all, the espresso coffee is on and it's a snowy Tuesday morning. West Point called a "Code Red" yesterday starting at 0100 (1 AM this morning until 1300 (1 PM) today. It's not that bad out and I see that the snow plows are going up and down the street. We have another Adverse Weather Conference Call today at 0900 (9 AM) to see how things are coming along for DPW on the installation and if we have to extend the Code Red until the end of the day. Thank goodness that this storm came this week instead of next week being that we are all flying down next Wednesday to West Palm Beach for the Great Smoke. Anyway, enjoy everyone....... :pi

There are to many folks to thank for their hospitality, just know that the ten of us had a blast from when we landed Wednesday until we departed yesterday morning. Our visits to Aganorsa Leaf, Smoke On The Water, Espinosa Cigars, My Father Cigars, and of course Smoke Inn will be great memories for a long time. The Great Smoke main event was outstanding as always, got to see a lot of old friends and meet new ones. They had over a dozen varieties of food to include: venison chilli, bear & moose meatloaf, mule deer steaks, wild boar stew, bbq rabbit, corn beefed venison and cabbage, salmon steaks, grilled trout, duck skewers, etc. It was a feast for a king and we all took food home as well. Yesterday, Beth and I relaxed watching women's NCAA basketball early and then NASCAR later on. Supported a carwash fundraiser for the NFA JROTC on Saturday and the worked the semi-annual Legion Special yesterday that was a huge success. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's the 4th of July morning getting ready for all the festivities. I went out yesterday in search of turkey legs (drum sticks) to put on the smoker to serve along with the hot dogs and burgers and all. Finally after the fourth store, I found them at Market Fresh in Newburgh, NY: https://newburgh.atmarketfresh.com/. I'll definitely be going back there as their meat selection was outstanding. We've got friends and family coming over around 1300 (1 PM), so I'll put them on around 1100 (11 AM) low and slow for around three hours. The Cornwall, NY parade is at 1700 (5 PM), we'll make our way down there a good 30 minutes prior to get a good spot. The day ends with the town of Cornwall shooting off fireworks over Rings Pond which always brings in a huge crowd. Enjoy everyone and remember to be safe out there..... 🇺🇲

We had a relaxing weekend over all: Saturday, I went to Aroma for a while and then came home to a nice home cooked meal and watched Army win again for two weeks in a row. Congrats to the Yankees for taking 3 out of 4 from the Red Sox and are 3 games ahead in 1st place in the AL East. Good morning everyone, the coffee has been on for a while now and it's a pleasant September morning here in the Hudson Valley. We had a good time at Aroma last night, a number of the regulars were hanging out along with a few new faces. The Yankees lost yesterday 3 to 2 and the Orioles won giving us a 4 game advantage still in the AL East. The Yankees will play the Athletics in Oakland this weekend and the NASCAR drivers are in Bristol, TN with racing this evening and tomorrow tonight. Also tomorrow, Army football takes on Rice at home and then Sunday the Eagles take on the Saints in New Orleans starting at 1300 (1 PM). Good morning all, the espresso is on and it's a muggy Friday morning here in the Hudson Valley. We had a great time at Aroma last night, the place was packed and all were enjoying primo stogies as Army Football be Temple and the Yankees clinched the AL East. Unfortunately the Giants lost to the Cowboys, all I can say is Fly Eagles Fly. The NASCAR racers are in Kansas this weekend and the Yankees play the Pirates to close out the regular season. The Eagles play Sunday in Tampa against the Buccaneers, hopefully everything is cleaned up in time after the hurricane. Enjoy everyone and I hope all of you in the storms path is okay...... :)

We had a good weekend overall: Beth and I helped out at the American Legion Clam Bake Fundraiser on Saturday and then yesterday we attended the annual Auxiliary Luncheon for Post 1796 in New Windsor, NY. Good morning all, the espresso is on and it's a brisk Tuesday morning as we speak. We had a busy day yesterday as one of our long time American Legion members passed away last week and yesterday was the burial and life celebration followed at the Legion. Beth and I along with a few others set up the Hall and made sure everyone enjoyed their lunch and all. The Yankees lost last night in game 2 of their playoff series with the Royals. We had a good time last night at Aroma, the place was hoping and a big congrats to the Yankees on advancing to the ALCS. They won't play until Monday night and that will be against the winner of the Detroit vs. Cleveland series. Today, I'm smoking a 6 pound chicken on the smoker Spatchcock style. It'll take a good 3 hours and then a half hour of rest time before we can eat it. The NASCAR racers are in Charlotte, NC this weekend with racing tomorrow and Sunday afternoon. Today, Beth and I are packing for our European trip that starts tomorrow. We have a car service picking us up around 1230 (12:30 PM) and our plane takes off for Munich, Germany at 1700 (5 PM). We land at 0720 (7:20 AM) on Wednesday and will spend 3 1/2 days in Center City Munich. On Saturday, we catch a train at noon to Budapest, Hungary where we will spend 4 1/2 days touring both sides of the Danube River as Buda and Pest are seperated by the river. We've been planning this trip before COVID, finally are going to enjoy our European Vacation. Good morning all, the espresso is on and it's another brisk morning here in the Hudson Valley. We had a great Thanksgiving weekend filled with family and friends throughout. Thursday, we went to our dear friends for Thanksgiving dinner; Friday, I put an eleven pound turkey on the smoker (spatchcock style) and we had Beth's sister over and our nephew Gary; Saturday, we worked the American Legion Christmas Bizarre in New Windsor, NY all day; and yesterday was Sunday Funday at the Newburgh Brewery. Congrats to the Philadelphia Eagles on their win yesterday and also a big congrats to the Army Football team as well for their win over UTSA. Tulane lost to Memphis Friday night, so the AAC Championship game will be this Friday evening at West Point on CBS starting at 2000 (8 PM). Have a great week everyone and enjoy....... :tu

Yesterday, Navy won their Bowl game 21 - 20 over Oklahoma. OU went for the win with attempting the two-point conversion with only 6 seconds left in the game and was denied giving the win to Navy. We had a good weekend which started with spending Saturday at Aroma with the crew and then yesterday morning making breakfast for Beth and our niece/goddaughter home from Oklahoma University.
