Tomorrow, Post 1796 American Legion in New Windsor, NY is having a Christmas Market and Fair that will host over 20 vendors along with Santa and Mrs. Claus available for pictures. They'll be plenty of cheer and good tidings for all to enjoy. We'll be there around 0700 (7 AM) to set up and the event goes from 1100-1700 (11 AM - 5 PM). Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's the last Friday of the year. As planned, we got all the holiday stuff down and stored to include the Christmas tree and all. For dinner, we went with a couple of Angus steaks on the grill along with baked potatoes and grilled brussel sprouts which all came out great. We are getting ready to head down to Key West early Thursday morning as a car service is picking us up at 0545 (5:45 AM). Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it’s looking like we’re going to have a beautiful day here sunny Key West. Beth and I had a great first day on vacation seeing some old friend, stopping in at a few of favorite watering holes and mostly relaxing with our nephew Gary. Gary is bartending today (during the day) at Fogarty’s so Beth and I will get in some sight seeing, possibly go on a boat ride and will definitely smoke a few primo cigars. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it’s going to be another nice day down here in Key West. Beth and I went to one of our favorite brunch spots yesterday: Rams Head https://ramsheadsouthernmost.com/. Afterwards, we headed over the Green Parrot and listened to some ole’ time jazz, smoking cigars and drinking a few cold beers. Congrats to the Eagles on their win and now the NFC East Champions. Our nephew Gary has today and tomorrow off, so we’ll be out and about with him. I see cigars, good food and cold drinks in the near future. Enjoy your week….. 👍

We had a good weekend overall: went to the Aroma Cigar Room on Saturday and spent the day with the crew; afterwards, went to the "Best of Little Italy" in Monroe, NY and picked up dinner for Beth and I; enjoyed watching football when I got home and a big congrats to the Eagles and the Chiefs for advancing in the Playoffs. Yesterday, we had our West Point Cadets over for pizza from Prima in Cornwall and congrats goes out to the 49ers and the Bengals as well. We had a good weekend over all: Saturday, I spent the day at Aroma with the guys and came home to a homemade lasagna the Beth prepared; yesterday we stopped by the Newburgh Brewery after doing some shopping and then went to a chili cook-off at the Shamrock Tavern which was off the charts.

Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's Friday! We had a great time at Aroma last night as there were a few faces we haven't seen since the holidays. It's looking like it'll be on the cool side this weekend with the winds picking up as well according to NOAA:

Today - Mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 30 by 5pm. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Breezy, with a northwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.
Tonight - Mostly clear, with a low around 11. Wind chill values between 5 and 10. Northwest wind 6 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
Saturday - A 30 percent chance of snow showers after 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 28. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

Good morning all, the espresso coffee is on and it's a brisk Sunday morning here in the Hudson Valley. I see that the NY Rangers got beat yesterday 6 - 3 against the Washington Capitals. Hopefully they bounce back today with a "W" against the LA Kings at home starting at 1700 (5 PM). Also, yesterday's NASCAR race got postponed because of weather until this evening starting at 2000 (8PM) after the conclusion of today's Cup Race which starts at 1530 (3:30 PM). Good morning everyone, the coffee has been on since 0410 as always and it's back to work Monday already. We had a great weekend overall: spent Saturday with the fellas at Aroma; went to dinner at our dear friends house that evening (Maggie, Eric and the three little kids - Eric was a West Point Cadet we sponsored who graduated in 2013 and is now a Major teaching at West Point); yesterday, we spent the afternoon with Kristen and Stephan at the Newburgh Brewery sipping on a couple beers and all (dear friends of ours that are getting married the 1st of October at the oldest winery in the US - I'm doing the officiating). Congrats to the NY Rangers for splitting this weekend with a loss and a win and a congrats as well to Kyle Busch for taking the checkered flag in yesterday's NASCAR race. I see that we will be getting around 7 inches of snow tonight here in the Hudson Valley, I can't wait until the Spring time is here again and warm weather is back. Good morning all, the coffee is on as always and it's "Hump Day". We ended up with roughly 9" of snow yesterday and they never opened West Point so everyone that could telework did so. I actually went out to shovel the snow at 0530 and finished before the work day started. Went out one more time late in the afternoon after the snow ended to just clean up the drive and side walks and it only took a few minutes. According to NOAA, we are suppose to get another couple of inches of snow Friday afternoon. One good thing is that today and tomorrow, the temperatures are suppose to be in the 40 - 50 degrees range. Like I said on Monday, I can't wait until the Spring time is here. Enjoy everyone...... :tu

Good morning all, the coffee has been on since 0410 as always and it's Friday! We had a good time at Aroma last night, place was hoping' and top shelf cigars were enjoyed. Unfortunately, the NY Rangers lost last night with a not so good 3rd period. They were up 3 - 2 going into the 3rd period and lost 5 - 3 at the end. I know they can't win them all but come on fellas, you got this. This weekend, the NASCAR racers are in Las Vegas with racing tonight, tomorrow afternoon as well we Sunday. I went to Aroma yesterday with the fellas during the day and came home to a Turkey dinner prepared by Beth. We got a free turkey (14 lbs.) after having enough points at Shoprite, perfect meal for a day like yesterday. Got leftovers for the upcoming week and I see a turkey sandwich or two as well. Fingers crossed that we don't owe anything and hopefully we get a little back from both the State of New York and the Federal Government. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on as always and it's back to work Monday ( even though I only have a 2 days to work this week ). We had a great weekend: Went to Aroma Cigar Room Saturday and hung out with the fellas and then came home to an Irish dinner prepared by Beth; yesterday, we went to the Goshen St. Patrick's Day parade and had a good time. Wednesday, a number of us are flying down to West Palm for this year's Great Smoke. They are calling for anywhere from 5 to 9 inches of snow starting tonight into tomorrow evening. As long as it's done by tomorrow night and the roads are clear Wednesday morning, we're flying Wednesday at 1030 (10:30 AM). The NY Rangers split this weekend with a win and a loss which was in overtime and a big congrats to William Byron for taking the checkered flag in yesterday's NASCAR race and winning two weeks in a row. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's finally back to work Monday. We had a great time down in sunny South Florida but it's was time to come home to be with Beth after 5 days with the fellas. We had a great big house for the 7 of us with room for more; went down to the Smoke on Water Cigar Lounge in Weston during the day on Thursday and then partied with Jonathan Drew and the crew at the Boynton Beach Smoke Inn all evening; Friday we went down to the MyFather Headquarters in Doral (Miami) and spent 5 hours with the Master Don Pepin Garcia, Pete Johnson, Janny Garcia Johnson, and Jose Ortega. Pepin rolled for us and we talked cigars in the Hurricane Lounge with Jose O. while enjoying top shelf stogies. Saturday was off the charts at the main event and our flight home yesterday was on-time. We got to see and spend time with so many friends in the business, I am grateful to all and can hardly wait to see them all again soon. We had drills like that related to all sorts of potential emergencies faced by the fire service, often involving other FDs, the police, etc. It could be about a fire, hazmat, explosion, any sort of mass casualty situation we thought could ever happen. Some were good learning experiences, others were cluster effs, yet others were over-choreographed, if you know what I mean. Hope yours today is one of the good ones.

Beth and I had a great weekend overall: Friday after work, we sat out back in the gazebo and enjoyed some tasty wine and I smoked a couple of primo stogies; Saturday morning, I headed over to the American Legion in New Windsor, NY at 0700 where we fed over 200 motorcyclist that escorted the buses for the Hudson Valley Honor Flight which included the Legion Riders, Patriot Guard, Leathernecks and other military organisations. Saturday afternoon, I went over to Handsome Devil BBQ where they had their 3rd annual Cigarbecue Fundraiser. Yesterday, we had our Cadet Caleb Richardson that we sponsor over and his best friend Tyler over for a BBQ. They both will be graduating the 27th of May and moving on to bigger and better things as new Second Lieutenants in the US Army. It was good to see the Yankees win yesterday and split the four game series with the Twins after losing the first two games in a row. Took the day off yesterday, Beth had an eye doctor appointment and then we did some yard work. We spread 12 bags of mulch and then a yard (1 ton) of 3/4" white stone as well. A little sore today, nothing that time won't heal. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday. Beth and I had a very productive weekend and stayed home and relaxed as well. We cleaned all the windows in the house to include the nine storm windows in the three season room. Most off the yard work is done as well, only have the sides of the yard needing mulch which is six bags per. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday already. We had a rather relaxing weekend being that it's been raining since late Friday evening. Friday after work, I decided to cut the grass as it was the only day without rain for like a week. Saturday, I volunteered my time at the New Windsor, NY American Legion Post 1796 as we hosted an open house for new membership. Yesterday, Beth and I relaxed all day catching up on shows that we DVR'd being that they rescheduled the NASCAR until today at noon EST. The NY Rangers and the NJ Devils play game 7 of their playoffs tonight starting at 2000 (8 PM). Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's Monday. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers in the passing of our brother-in-law Gary, it means a lot for the family. Yesterday, the Hudson Valley received a lot of rain in a short period of time resulting major damage all over with the County Supervisor declaring a State of Emergency. West Point has major damage throughout and the Town of Highland is under water. West Point is currently in a Code Red and damage is currently being assessed. There are roads gone that use to be there and areas impassable. I'll update as we know more from our 0900 (9 AM) MS Teams meeting. Talk with you all soon.

Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's day two of recovery for the Hudson Valley. Beth and I received minimal damage compared to the West Point / Highland Falls community. Route 9W which is the direct route to West Point is only oneway as a portion of the road is gone. Everyone that travels south on 9W has to find other means to head towards West Point and points south. It's going to take a while to rebuild but I'm sure the Highway department will make it one of the priorities. Have a great day everyone....... :tu

South of West Point is another question. They did set up the ferry service starting this morning from the Garrison side to West Point which will help a number of employees that live on the east side of the Hudson River. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on and it's "Hump Day" already. I see that the Mets beat the Yankees 9 - 3, come on fellas and turn it around tonight and put up a "W". Today at West Point is the annual New Comers Briefing / Community Fair for all recently arrived military members / government employees (arrived to West Point in the past year). From 1300 (1 PM) to 1500 (3 PM) will be the information briefings in the Ike Hall Theater and then from 1500 to 1700 (5 PM) will be the fair. At the fair, numerous activities will have tables set up in the Ike Hall Ballroom handing out information about their activities along with chochkees and such. Also in Crest Hall, there will be local vendors from on and off the installation offering tasty treats and drinks. Should be a great day for all to get out and meet other community members. Good morning all, the coffee is on as always and it's back to work Monday already. We had a good weekend overall: Started off Saturday early with cutting the grass around 0800 (8 AM) and then headed to Aroma to see the guys. Afterwards, I stopped at a local Polish deli and picked up some tasty treats and Beth and I relaxed for the remainder of the day. Yesterday after our grocery shopping, we destained our double Adirondack and then relaxed out back in the gazebo for the remainder of the afternoon. I see that the Yankees blew a 7 - 3 lead going into the bottom of the 9th inning losing 8 - 7. Not a good year for the Yankees, time to regroup from management down. As a life-long Packer fan, I was so relieved when we traded him to the Jets. I was curious to see how he would fare there, and if another coach or strategy would work with him. I was tired of getting into the "red zone" in play-off games and having to settle for a field goal - and it being everybody's fault except his. Sorry, I don't like kool-aid.

I cannot say that I wasn't hoping to see him fail in New York, just so I could say, "I told you so!"

But it was sad to see him go down that way.
He is in my prayers.

I am curious to see what happens with Chicago and Green Bay this year.
Were the Bears over-confident? There may be something too that! They were the authors of their own loss?
Is Love and this very young squad in Green Bay better than people expected? That is what I am personally hoping for.

This was just the 1st game of a long 17 game season. Where it will all shake out is anybody's guess. All it takes is one rolled ankle and a team's season could change drastically.
And yet, a rookie could step in and with the help of a great defense, create a winning season.

My prayer is two-fold for the season - with an addendum.
1st, keep all those playing, safe and injury free.
2nd, grant exciting games and stupendous plays.
Addendum, it would be nice if the Packers win.

Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's finally Friday! We had a good time at Aroma last night, a number of the regulars were out along with a few new faces as well. Tomorrow morning, the Hudson Valley Honor Flight has a plane full of veterans heading down to Washington D.C. to tour the monuments and all. Then Sunday, the New Windsor American Legion Post 1796 has a chilli cookout in the afternoon. Sports wise this weekend, there's plenty of NHL, MLB, NASCAR, NFL, and college football to watch and enjoy. Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy....... :D
