Good morning all, the coffee has been on for a while and it's Columbus Day. So far the weekend has been going great; went to an Alzheimer's Walk with friends and family; stopped by a new brewery in Walden, NY https://orangecountyhops.com/; went to the 21st Welcome Home to Vets - Hudson Valley Honor Flight from D.C.; spent yesterday afternoon at the Sugar Loaf Fall Festival; then came home to BBQ and sit around enjoy a couple of cold ones and a cigar. Today's weather is a little iffey according to NOAA here in the Hudson Valley: Columbus Day - Patchy drizzle. Patchy fog before 2pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 65. Southeast wind 3 to 5 mph.

We told the owner that we'll be back for the next one already be it a wine pairing or another beer one. I see that the Red Sox won and are moving into the World Series, hopefully it's a good one and goes 7 games. The NASCAR racers are in Kansas this weekend and there's plenty of NHL and NFL along with college football throughout. Army football takes on Miami of Ohio tomorrow here at West Point which means we have to have the Emergency Operation Center up and running by 0500. It's a long day for sure (12 hours) but well worth it. Anyway, enjoy and smoke a favorite or two if your get the chance........ :pi

Good morning all, the coffee is on it's a chilly Sunday here in the Hudson Valley. Congrats to Army for a double overtime win yesterday over Miami of Ohio 31 - 30. It went down to the end where M of O went for a 2 point conversion to win it and came up short. I see that LA Dodgers have advanced to the World Series as well, hope it goes 7 games and they a victors in the end over the Red Sox. The Army football team plays Air Force tomorrow here at West Point which means we'll be up and running in the Emergency Operation Center at 0500. It's going to be a long day but well worth it. Army beat Colgate yesterday 28 - 14 which improves their record to 9 and 2. They only have one game left and that is against Navy in Philly the 2nd Saturday in December. We are a week away from one of the biggest college rivalry football games of the year, Army vs. Navy down in Philadelphia, PA. I'll be heading down there early Friday morning to be with the Medal of Honor recipients for the weekend which is always a major highlight of the year. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday already. Another incredible Army / Navy game weekend in Philly. Started off with having the honor of enjoying lunch at a local cheese steak place, Campos; with Medal of Honor recipient Mike Thornton and his beautiful bride Rainey, Highway Patrol police inspector Tony Boyle, a couple of retired Highway Patrolmen and my buddy Bill Latta. Later on, we went to the Twins Cigar Shoppe in South Philly and enjoyed top shelf stogies. Game day was outstanding with Army winning and it was a whos who all day long. Yesterday after getting home, Beth and I went out and supported a great local Cause at the Newburgh Brewery which is always a highlight of the weekend. Good morning all, the espresso coffee is on and we're home from our week in the Keys. Beth and I had a blast as always in Key West spending time with our nephew Gary who manages Jack Flats on Duval St. Ate a lot of fresh seafood, enjoyed a lot of cold beers, had a great time sailing on a 92' wooden sail boat, spent the day at Fort Jefferson, and of course smoked numerous tasty cigars. Hated to come back to NY in this cold weather but we'll be back down in Florida in 30 days for a week in the sun and going to the Great Smoke in West Palm Beach. The Great Smoke was an excellent cigar event, a must for all cigar enthusiasts. While in Florida, we went to the West Palm Zoo, took a bus/boat tour on the DivaDuck: https://divaduck.com/. Had some great meals both in Boynton Beach and in West Palm. Stopped in a number of establishments for adult beverages and visited both West Palm & Boynton Beach Smoke Inn cigar lounges. Sports wise this weekend, the NASCAR drivers are in Martinsville, VA; the MLB is rapping up Spring Training and getting ready for Opening Day; The NHL & NBA are prepping for their playoffs; and the NCAA Basketball March Madness is underway. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's back to work Monday. I have to say it, we had another great weekend. Spent Saturday morning with the guys at Hudson Valley Cigars; saw my Goddaughter in a school play that evening; yesterday, Beth and I took care of some chores and the went to Joe Colombo's house for a BBQ where there were a number of of dear friends there. Congrats to Brad Keselowski for taking the checkered flag in yesterday's NASCAR race, we didn't get to see it but heard bits and pieces of the race on the radio. Good morning everyone, the coffee is on as always and it's Friday! We had a good time last night at Schlesinger's, saw a lot of friends that haven't stopped in for a while. The Yankees game got rained out, hopefully tonight's game will be okay. Tomorrow, Beth and I are heading down to New Brunswick, NJ for the annual Hungarian Festival which we always wanted to attend. Should be a great time as long as the weather holds out. The NASCAR drivers are in the Poconos this weekend and same the same goes for them, praying to the weather gods to let the races go on. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's Friday! We had a rough day at West Point yesterday with a LMTV (cargo truck) carrying 20 cadets to a land navigation course rollover. Unfortunately, one of the cadets passed away and a number of others are banged up pretty bad. Prayers go out to the families of the deceased young man also to the ones recovering from the injuries. I hope everyone has a relaxing weekend and takes a minute and thanks the lord for all we have...... :usa

Well, the final number of new Cadets that arrived here at West Point yesterday was 1207 of which 4 have been been released for various reasons and another 4 have been sent to the Prep School (which is on West Point property) for a year because of academics. Happy Independence Day all. The coffee was on early this morning as I was at the Cornwall Fire House at 0700 for the 4th of July breakfast and then over to help the Cornwall 4th of July Committee set up for today festivities. Heading back over that way later on this afternoon to assist with the parade line up and then to a brother-in-laws for a BBQ and a couple of cold ones.
