Good morning all, the Killer Beans coffee is on and kickin'. Well, I see that the Yankees lost last night 6 - 3, glad they are off today so they can rest and get their heads back in the game. They'll be taking on the Rays this weekend down in Tampa which should be a good series for them. We'll be at the Newburgh Brewing Company this evening helping them support a fund raiser for the Michael J. Fox foundation for Parkinson's research. Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's another cool Sunday morning. Yesterday, West Point graduated 1009 cadets to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. It was an honor to be a part of the ceremony and to see Eric Reder (a great Cadet we sponsored for 4 years) finally make it. I see that the Yankees won and feel bad for the Rangers as the Bruins knocked them out of the playoffs. Today we have the Indy 500, the NASCAR Coca Cola 600, numerous MLB games and many other sporting events to enjoy while hopefully relaxing with a few of your favorites........ :D

It's good to see the Yankees won yesterday after a day in NYC with Isy (uptown_isy), Jesus (MOBIG), Christian (Eric Driscoll), our dear friends from Smoke Inn ("Honest" Abe & Emily - aka: Lady M) and all the good folks from Davidoff as the Kiss My Ash radio show was live from the Madison Ave Flagship store. Jim Young (Davidoff US President) and Hendrik "Henke" Kelner were the special guests on this weeks show. This week Beth and I have a house guest as we are puppy sitting our niece's dog Copper who is a hound / lab mix. We had a great day in NYC yesterday (both at Arthur Avenue and the Yankee game), enjoyable lunch at Mike's Deli and the spent the remainder of the day at Yankee Stadium (3 1/2 hour rain delay). First pitch was finally thrown around 1640 (4:40pm) and the result was another Yankee win and the sweep of the Blue Jays was complete. The Bombers have a weekend series down in Tampa and lets hope they keep up the positive attitude. The NASCAR racers are in Bristol, TN this weekend with a Saturday night race ole' school style. Good morning all, the coffee is on and we're back from being on the road for the past 8 days visiting friends and family. Started off last Sunday with hitting one of the East Coast's largest Oktoberfest in Newark, DE. Then when headed down to Fenwick Island, DE for a for days with a follow on trip to Fort Lee, VA. Ended up in Annapolis, MD on Sunday and made it home safely after putting a little over 1100 miles on Beth's Subaru. Now that we are back, I see that the Government has temporarily shut down which means we have to go in the office this morning, sign a bunch of documents and then put our out-of-office message on our phones and computers. Good day all, the morning / noon coffee is on here at the Fisher House and we finally have a sunny day. As a lot of you know, i've been here in Germany by my son's bedside for about 5 day's now. He was evacuated from Afghanistan early last week after blacking out a few times and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Jeremy is doing much better, he's up walking around and it looks he will be transferred to the Army hospital here in Landstuhl on Thursday. The doctors are saying that the tumor is benign (germinoma) and was caused by the thyroid producing to much Beta-HCG. They can treat that through meds but they'll have to remove the tumor with radiation because it's to close to the brain stem. He'll be transferred to Walter Reed Army hospital in Bethesda, MD next Tuesday via an Army hospital plane. All in all, things are looking up and we all are very happy.

Please do not post this in Facebook (to all my FB friends) as I don 't want the whole world to know. Thank you.

Good morning all and the coffee is on the cold "Hump Day" morning. I wanted to update you all on Jeremy's current status: We found out yesterday that he was misdiagnosed in Germany and that the tumor is actually malignant (cancerous). The doctors at Walter Reed Military Medical Center are being very aggressive with it and are starting treatments very soon as it hasn't moved or got any larger as of yet. They plan on blasting it with radiation 30 minutes a day for 25 days. I'm going down to be by his side this Friday where his wife Christen and mother Pat are currently at. I'll stay for a few days and then head back down there again next week for another stay. I know Jeremy is strong and he will get through this with our love and continued prayers. Thank you all for your support and I'll update you guys as we know more.........

Good morning all, the coffee is on and it's definitely cold outside this brisk November morning. Got home yesterday afternoon after a nice 4 day weekend with Jeremy, his wife Christen and a few others throughout the stay. Planning on going back down next week for another 4 days starting the Tuesday the 3rd. I'm glad that the military is taking good care of him and his wife during these rough times and the doctors are on top of everything thing else. I'm happy to say that the radiation and all the prayers and positive thoughts sent is working. When I called down there yesterday to speak with his wife Christen, Jeremy answered the phone and I was so happy to hear his voice. His hearing is coming back which is definitely a good thing. The doctors are very pleased with his reaction to the radiation treatment that will continue for roughly another month. We had a great Christmas and New Years and here's hoping that the Spring gets here soon. Heading down to see Jeremy this weekend as his last Radiation treatment is the 8th. I talked with him this past weekend and he said he's doing great and the doctors are very pleased with his recovery. I'll update you guys of his status once I get home, I do know that he'll remain at Walter Reed for a month or two for observation and testing. Yesterday was a long one starting at 0345 in the morning with an Adverse Weather Conference Call that ended up closing West Point for the day with a Code "Red". We received roughly a foot of snow and then freezing rain and sleet on top of that all day. Just spoke with Jeremy a little bit ago and have some good news. He had a complete MRI and a number of test last Friday and the results are back. The tumor is gone, thank god. He has some issues with one of his eyes that they are dealing with and hopefully Jeremy and Christen get to go home to Delaware soon. Thank you all for the positive thoughts and prayers, love you all.

Stopped by Hudson Valley Cigars last night as I got a text our buddy Charlie Watson aka: Doctor Cigarro from Gurkha Cigars is in town. Always great to see ole' friends and we'll see a lot more of them in 3 weeks at Cigarfest. We watched the first half of the Yankees game there and saw that the Bombers lost 5-4. I know it's still early in the season but hopefully the Yankees get on a winning streak for a while. Anyway, stopping by Schlesinger's again this evening and hope everyone enjoys as well....... :)
