Loved Skyfall and the theme. Watched the movie, ate a nice prime burger afterwards, and then went Figure skating with the girly. I believe Veteran's Day we spent the day lounging and watched Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. Pretty good aswell. Sappy, but... Enjoyed. Skyfall last night. Awesome movie is awesome! Loved the opening sequence, they picked the perfect singer in Adele for the song. Seeing Javier Bardem as a Bond villain was worth the price of admission. He's such a talented actor and he absolutely nailed the part in this movie. Without getting into spoilers, his introduction was so memorable and I wished I could've skipped back to see it again in the theater lol. Might go see it again it was so good.

Argo - pretty good, but could have waited for DVD. I must admit that everyone I've talked to liked it much more than I. Just never felt 'real enough' for me. Hard to put my finger on it...maybe I was in wrong mindset, but it never grabbed me like it did others.

Streamed The Game on Netflix - I like Michael Douglas, but this one didn't quite do it for me, either. Great premise - just fell a little short. Maybe my lack of imagination wouldn't keep me from saying 'huh?' right on through the ending.

Saw this in the theaters when it was release (i'm a HUGE David Fincher fan) this movie left me breathless.....I mean every emotion was pulled out of me in the course of that film.....too bad you didn't enjoy it that much.

Man, I really want to see this, I thought KS last couple of movies sucked (Zack & Miri & Copout (good lord did that suck!!!)) but when I heard he was doing a horror movie I was all in, but alas it never showed in theaters here.

For me it was Our Idiot Brother, I didn't hate it....I didn't think it was as funny as I was expecting, but I still enjoyed it for what it was and Zooey Deschanel as a lesbian :dr and Elizabeth Banks looked just like Parker Posey, I like her as a blonde better.

Uhh.. If you like Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis.. You should enjoy it. I mean, it's Anchorman stupid Will Ferrel, and Zach's character "Seth Galifianakis" from his Live At The Purple Onion rolled into a political comedy. Throw in some racial humor, some old school bad ass actors.. It worked for me. I enjoyed it. Was it Anchorman in hilarity? No. Was it Hangover style Zach, kinda. I'd say throw it on and watch it. Watched Lawless last night and i can wholeheartedly agree that you should watch it next.
I liked it for a few things, chief among them, it is NOT an empire-building story, its an
empire MAINTAINING movie, which is unique in a lot of ways. I also liked, and was surprised to see,
the shot of Jessica Chastain's breasts. I am a sucker for redheads, and in her case, since The Help,
I have been humping her leg. Push up bra in that film apparently, but still nice skin and a lovely package.
Great movie to keep your interest, no slow parts, great story. Well done.

Expendables II - Run. Run far away. If you thought that the first one got a pass simply on
the uniqueness of the ensemble, this one has all the actors and more, a metric ton of blood,
but it is utterly, Stallone-ally ridiculously written.

Savages - So this is what people are always hacking on Oliver Stone for. Worth the red box dollar,
but NOT a very good movie, and ridiculous at times.

Total Recall - Getting there, but not quite good enough. Not NEARLY as bad as people say.

Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter - You will be surprised and entertained by this one. I liked it.
I kept asking myself, is this for real? It is SO far outside even a send up of a period piece.
I know it was an actual book, but the movie, you have to see it to believe it. A little too
much Crouching Tiger flying scenes, but they are NOT over the top, but still dance on the edge.
In the end though, can't recommend it enough. red box it and enjoy.

Honeysuckle Rose - Talk about a throwback. Dyan Cannon near her hottest. Willie at his straightest.
Not a bad flick, but you HAVE to be a fan of Willie.

I saw Lincoln just the other day and while I may be a bit biased, it was outstanding. I say I may be biased because Lincoln is a hero of mine and always has been. The movie was great and Daniel Day Lewis deserves an Oscar for his performance. I thought Sally Field's was also wonderful as Mary Todd Lincoln. I could watch this again and again; for those wanting a lot of action, this probably won't fit your bill. Not a lot of civil war fighting per se; mostly behind the scenes of a great man fighting for ending slavery forever. Steve

An oldie, but a great one: Charade.

I hadn't made the connection until I watched Charade this time that the french police officer is the same actor that plays with Hepburn as the museum cop in "How to Steal a Million"

I don't know if George Kennedy is just really tall, or if Cary Grant was short. But there is a scene in Charade where George and Cary are getting off the elevator, and Kennedy towers way over Grant on height!!

Which version did you see (Director's cut or Original with Harrison Ford narrating?)

If you have not read the books at all or recently the narrated version is easier to follow. P.K. Dick had a great concept in his short story...

Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I watched this with my 16 year old son. Even though it is almost 40 years old, the humor still held up. My son was laughing hysterically, as was I, for about the 300th time at some of the bits.

Watched the Director's cut. I was with it for the first half....but it never really materialized for me. Off the top of my head, a few things that left it wanting:
-No chemistry between the leads...same problem I had with Maltese Falcon the other night -- the story NEEDS you to buy into the relationship between Ford and Young...I never got there; and maybe partly because of
-Ford played the entire movie as if he was on edge of a coma --probably intentional so that you'd question if he's human; but I just couldn't sympathize with him, or fear for him, or relate at all
-The drawn out fight/flight scenes in last 20-30 min were long, boring, overwrought and totally killed any momentum.
-All the characters that could have brought some entertainment value or interest were given short shrift: Tyrell, the Olmos guy, the designer dude, even Pris ; make Batty either more human or more 'artificial', but straddling both, as was obviously the intent, didn't work for me at all

I saw it with my wife and son and we all liked it (I was the only one that had read the book). The movie does not really follow the book -- the basic plot and some other touch points, but it is good none-the-less. It's not going to be critically acclaimed but it filled the bill for me. Tom Cruise does a credible job in the role.

Marathon NYE movie fest. Just spent a week with my family in Charlotte and watched 3 theater movies.

Then today once home, I watched Seeking a Friend for the End of the World which I thought was good.

Just finished watching Safety Not Guaranteed. I like Aubrey Plaza, I have a boner for the 'dark' chicks.

And Butter was pretty great, too. Seemed like the crowd from 'Best In Show' would pop out anytime,
it had that kind of feel to it. But no Eugene Levy or Fred Willard ever popped around the corner. Still a good
show. As much as Jennifer Garner always puts her best foot forward in a film, the real star for me was a bit
more of a supporting role. Olivia Wilde was absolutely perfect in this. Her part was not just well-played, but
the things her character DID were hilarious and absolutely surprise quirks that made the film, at least for me.
