I heard they were remaking Robocop and Hugh Laurie, House from the tv show "HOUSE" was going to star as one of the bad guys. Man, I love Hugh Laurie as an actor and can't wait to see this new Robocop.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1234721/

I loved the movie Robocop as a kid and thought that maybe my son might like it.

HOLY CRAP!

I don't remember there being so much gore and language in Robocop.

I had to tell my son not to watch parts of the movie just so he wouldn't get nightmares.

The new movie will be fun for me to watch just because Hugh Laurie will be in it. Joel Kinnaman is going to be Robocop, I'm not sure if he will be a great actor for the part. He just dosen't look right, face is way different.

We will see.

Commando with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Hadn't seen it in years and forgot about how incredibly unbelievable it is! I know its an action movie and all, but the guy jumps out of a plane about 100 feet in the air and lands into a bush only to get up and walk away, then steals a car and crashes it full speed and head-on into a tree only to walk out of it like nothing happens, takes on an entire army of soldiers and kills every single one of them by himself, then kills the bad guy at the end by ripping a steam pipe out of the wall and javelin-throwing it through is chest. Continuing to stream Winds of War from Netflix. I'm sorta torn on this. The history is fantastic and surprisingly authentic. The touchy feely romance stuff drags and is fairly insufferable - but it is what most engages the gf - so we continue to enjoy it together and sometimes that's more important than something one of us loves and the other hates.

OUCH....Restitution with Mena Suvari as the only known actor. Well, not true, Tom Arnold was in it, too.

There are movies made everyday that are this bad, but I used to not see em. Now I can spot the actors.
This is one of those films where everyone acts in slow motion, as if how slow you act makes it more real.
And the editing was like a highschool film project, if there was such a thing. There is a scene where some
guys are about to kill the main guy and they are poised to shoot him in the back of the head. However,
you KNOW that Tom Arnold is a former sniper, so you are waiting for the shot. And the stupid editor makes
the criminals wait, too, suspended in mid action while we wait for the life-saving sniper shot. IT IS A RIOT
how bad the scene is edited. Mena is good but it makes you wonder who saw her killing somebody to where
she is stuck in these roles with her giant head. Everyone else looks like someone taped an acting class.
I turned it off 70% through. MAY get back to it, but it'll be hard. I think I am going to go to IMDB and see
how many reviews written by the PA or producer's secretary there are, because I doubt I would have DL'ed it
if there was not some kind of decent writeup.

Just watched the 1980's documentary called Radio Bikini. Very interesting and sad documentary about the Bikini Atoll nuclear testing that was done after WWII. Not super in depth, mostly video clips from that time, but they interview the Chief of the Bikinians and a veteran of the testing that went on. Put a very personal touch on the whole thing.

Watched the documentary Until the Light Takes Us.

A semi-interesting docu about Black Metal in Norway in the late 80's/early 90's. I enjoy some metal, but Black Metal was never really my style. Still, it had some interesting interviews.

Two things that stood out to me: Norway's maximum prison sentence is only 21 years...even if you've killed somebody. On top of that, the two individuals who were in for murder both were let out early for good behavior. The other interesting thing was their maximum security prisons actually have pretty nice cells. Ikea-type furnished and even had a computer.

^ Same here. Saw it on Sunday.

What a great movie. Wraps up the trilogy nicely. One of the top movies I've seen in some time. Only problem is, I didn't think Anne Hathway was that good in the movie, they could have gotten some one for that role.
I agree with you Huy. Hathaway has only one character that she uses for all her roles. Somtimes it works and sometimes not so much. Usually she makes up for it by being hot, which helped here, but another actress would have been a better choice -- maybe Gina Carano or Kate Beckinsale.

+1. I found her character to be the same character she plays in every other movie too...that stuck-up hot chick character that I feel like she always plays. I would have rather seen someone like Kate Beckinsale too :noon

Insidious - I don't know if there is a more creepier song to use in a horror movie than TipToe Through the Tulips by Tiny Tim. Kinda reminded me of an older movie I saw when I was a kid called Poltergeist a ton of nightmares from that one.

Watching the scene with the last four walking to the final gun battle (Wiliam Holden, Ernest Borgnine, Warren Oates, Ben Johnson), it was strange to think they are all gone now.

Caught the end of that yesterday. Love that movie.

Currently, watching a skinny and mustached up Will Smith in Independence Day. :tf

One of my all-time favorites Tom. Saw it when it first came out in the theatre', and of course, several more times on rentals. Classic scene where the posse is crossing the bridge and The Wild Bunch blow it up, and then the "slow motion" falling of the horses and riders:tu

Admittedly though, she's worlds better than Katie Holmes and the sad turtle, err, Maggie Gyllenhaal.

How was it?

It's action packed but very similar to the 1990 version; sometimes, scene for scene. The technology is cool, but it was cool in the 1990 version. It looks like they may be trying to keep the story going with more movies, but then again the 1990 version set us up as well.:2

I have enjoyed the new Holmes films, but I can do without the thousand angle cutscene fights. I miss the days when I could actually see the fight happening.

I watched the Dark Knight Rises a couple of weeks back. Or was it a few weeks?

I totally agree. The fight scenes in todays movies are way too jazzed up with shaky cam and extreme close-up shooting so you can't figure out what is happening in the fight sequences. I agree with shaky cam to convey and element of chaos, confusion or disorder like in the begining of Saving Private Ryan. But for the actual fight scenes with hand to hand combat pan back and let us enjoy fight in more detail.
