Last night - True Grit
Tonight - True Grit 2.0

I hadn't watched the original in a very long time and I wanted to see it again before I watched the remake. So many things I didn't like about the remake, it's not worth going into here. In general, I thought when they differed from the original; at best it simply didn't work, and at worst there were many deviations from the original that I really didn't like at all . I was surprised because I like the Coen brothers, but I guess the "Western" is not a good genre for them.

The amazing spider man; very poor reboot.

I thought this movie was recycled and predictable. I would not reccomend it to anybody.
They tried to be more creepy than scary and failed IMO.

Sleepers. This one somehow escaped my notice...for 16 years....not bad - a little disturbing and for some reason I haven't put my finger on, a bit hard to believe. I read it is supposed to be true story, but there seems to be some holes - and some was over the top. Didn't really need to be 2 1/2 hours. All said, pretty decent movie, however.

Streamed from Amazon Prime.

So hard to pick. Even the wife was commenting on how good Jennifer was looking. That was hot. :tu

Unforgiven - Interesting movie - in that the linear story and action were only so-so. But the underlying questions, issues, dilemas of morality, vigilante-ism, ethics, revenge, guilt, etc. were much more engaging.

I've been doing the Marvelous Cycle, watching in succession Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America. The Avengers is already on deck . . . or more precisely, in my deck.

Watching these in sequence really brings home how many interconnections Marvel put into them all.

Really? A buddy of mine, whose judgement I usually trust, said it sucked the big greasy one. In fact, when I told him I was looking to acquire a copy, he warned me to pass on it.

Saw Skyfall Thursday night. Seeing a Bond movie on the big theater screen is a must, IMHO. Great film, but a slight departure from other Bond films in a couple of ways. Don't want to ruin it for you, so . . .

I watched it yesterday as well. I would not call it a "great" film, but found it engaging and entertaining. Thankfully, I have no clue what "sucking the big greasy one" is like, maybe your friend can give us a blow by blow description? ;)
