Fire with Fire.

Huge stars rents his name to a movie he is barely in and really plays no bearing or has anything to do with the outcome, could have left the entire character out and probably would have been a better movie since you keep waiting for his defining scenes that tie up the "plot" yet it never comes.

A great scene when Cary is trying to describe someone he says, "He looks like that fellow in the movies - Ralph Bellamy." Of course the character he was describing was played by Ralph Bellamy.

CBGB. It's about . . . well, it sure as hell ain't about Country, Blue Grass, and Blues. :D

I was even in that place once, back about '77 or so. It was a &uckin' $#!+hole, and this flick does a good job of showing that aspect. I must confess I was never much a fan of punk, though I did like a lot of stuff from the likes of Talking Heads and The Police, and Blondie and Patti Smith did some good songs too. But mainly I felt, in the immortal words of Joey Ramone, "I can't believe we got a record contract. We suck!" :r

The movie is decent. It is worth 90 minutes of your life, if the topic interests you.

I seen this, I wasn't crazy about the comic book style they portrayed, but it was a decent flick, the guys who played the Ramones were great, and they should finally make a movie about the Ramones With those dudes.......I hear there is talks with Scorsese doing it.

The theatre was almost empty for it here in Terre Haute. I guess were not urban enough to appreciate that kind of comedy. If you like racial humor you will like it. most other white people in the theatre (the other 5 people) seemed too uncomfortable to laugh.

After Life. I wish I could tell you what it was about, but I still don't know if Liam Neeson's character was some mystic medium who talked to the dead or just another psycho serial killer. Yet any flick with Christina Ricci running about naked for significant segments is worth at least one thumbs-up.

Sorry . . . that's not my thumb. :D

Knew whodunit after the first 10 mins.

Sadly predictable, blood soaked, nudity and profanity laced bit of escapism. Some dark humour, but fairly pointless.

Howl. In part it is about the early life of Allen Ginsberg. In part it is about his 1955 poem, which with Eliot's The Waste Land was the most influential of the 20th century. And in part it is about the obscenity trial of City Lights publisher and fellow Beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti (or little Larry Ferling, as he's known to this fellow Heel).

James Franco does a creditable job as the poet of Paterson . . . or would have was that Ginsberg and not William Carlos Williams. :D
