October is target.
I had some of the pilot batch and it was pretty damned good.
Think citrus and passion fruit.
This one will be October-January
AIPA will be February-May
XIPA WILL be June-September
Year round goodness.

Had my first Cigar City Brewing Co. beers the other day. Fell in love with the Maduro Brown Ale, its a perfect compliment for a nice earthy maduro(I'm gonna have to have one with a 601 Blue when I get back to Raleigh). If only the store had more of it, only got to pick up a sixer. Wasn't too impressed with the other two I tried, the Tocobaga Red Ale and Jai Alai IPA, a bit too hoppy for my tastes nowadays.

HUB IPA. yum!
Finally tried Allagash Curieux last night. I'd say it was a nice change from the bourbon aged beers that are primarily stouts and sweet sweet sweet... This one had some amount of hops as well as the bourbon, which made it interesting. That said I really don't think I would rate it as highly as it tends to be - nor would I be likely to buy it again. The flavor kept reminding me of a brandy alexander for some reason. Nutmeg-y, I guess.

We just started getting Founders here in NYS. Had Dirty Bastard the other night and i have to agree is a fantastic beer. We also tried the Rouge VooDoo bacon maple ale and DFH Festina Peche. Both interesting but i found the Bacon maple beer to have the smell of Beggin Strips i buy for the dog.

New Belgium: Somersault & Ranger IPA
SA: Irish Red, Coastal Wheat, Latitude 48 IPA
Heavy Seas: Loose Cannon Hop3 Ale
Oh yea, and the wife made me try a Bud Light Lime-a-Rita. She liked it. All I can say is, "Good for her!"

I had an amazing drink the other night. Rogue Chipotle. Phenomenal ale with a great pepper aftertaste. Really spicy. It's interesting how it goes down smooth, then the spice sneaks up on you. It only comes in the "tall boy" size, but for 4 or 5 bucks it is a great brew.
Check it out and let me know what you think. Might go well with a similarly spicy stick.

Started with a pint of Firestone Walker IPA - always good
Second pint I tried a Lagunitas Hop Stoopid - First time for me and a nice change up to a Racer 5. The Hop Stoopid has a sweet grapefruit flavor vs the more tarter grapefruit flavor of the Racer 5. For an IPA, the Hop Stoopid went a sweeter route which I'm not used to but I liked it. Tasted more like a hoppy Tripel then an IPA IMHO

Favorites I've had so far are Hop Stoopid, Maximus and Lucky 13...
Opened up a bottle of Brux tonight. Really good. Have to admit I was scared to try it - first wild I've had. Seems really similar to Saison Dupont though. I would have to try them side by side but I'm not sure I would continue to pay 60% more than Dupont...

I may pickup a 6er. In general, I think it is a very bad example of the Oktoberfest style (not as bad as Harpoon, though), but is usually decent in its own right.

Seems more spices than last year's batch! YUMMY! Cloves jump out at you immediately on opening. But not overpowering in taste, just great hints on the tongue behind the pumpkin pie flavor. Makes me want to go to the store and buy a pie and put it in the oven right now!!!

I feel the same way, but i still buy it as the wife loves the stuff. If you can find it Southern Tier has an Oak Aged version. ( the Pumking on the lable has a santa hat on)I find this one to have alot of the same flavor only toned down quite a bit. Very very good. Picked up a bottle of Rogue Double Chocolate Stout. Looking forward to cracking it open tonight after work.
One of the great things about where I live is that I have a fantastic German brewery (Sudwerk) almost literally down the street. Even better is that their regular beers are very accurate to the German styles, unlike a lot of so called German breweries in the US, and they have some incredibly creative brewers who like to brew up lots of half-barrels of experimental beers in every style imaginable (we get 2-3 new beers a week there on the average). Unfortunately, because of this, I don't bother to get out to other breweries that often or even buy that many bottles when I have something that damn good and that I like that much in walking distance.
But sometimes opportunity comes around... Since I was in Vegas for a few days, I managed to sneak out to Triple 7 Brewery and sampled all 8 of the brews they had available. All of them were very nice, the IPA and Red Ale weren't very aggressively hopped but they worked well, the Saison and the Porter (on nitrogen) were the standouts to me.
Grabbed these four bottles from two other craft breweries in the area on my way out of town and they all have to die today since I can't take them back with me (gee, bummer).

I was grousing about not getting Lagunitas in Indiana and happened upon this website for folks in the Upper Midwest - specifically IN:
http://brewersofindianaguild.com/about
At random I chose Three Floyds (close to Chicago in Muenster IN):
http://www.3floyds.com/
I specifically looked for their 'Dreadnaught' Imperial IPA and absolutely loved it. I am not a big beer hound but every once in awhile I get into a beer phase. I might start looking around for more midwest brewed beers. I know Bells Brewery up in Kalamazoo, MI puts out some great brews - 'Two-hearted Ale' comes to mind immediately.
