I've had everything that they can and gets shipped here also another that was on tap. The head brewer came out of Wisconsin and work with the guy that would start Ale Asylum. They both brewed at the Angelic in Madison.

Not sure when but they add coffee to it.

I haven't found out what they are doing with the recall. Might write them an email and see what they will do. Got a case and a half that's not drinkable now. I'm sure a few might be but I don't want to keep dumping bottles to find a good one.

Hopefully they make it right for you. I remember when Oakshire released their Hellshire II beer earlier this year, it was infected as well. I think they refunded all the people that bought it though.

What do you think? I was pissed off about this one. $14 for a 4 pack is crazy. This is a $2 beer at very best. Damn near exactly like Maui Brewing Big Swell IPA.

Since you have the Stone Brewing Gargoyle in your avatar, you obviously have good taste.

You hit the nail on the head. Basically the long and short of it. I haven't seen the normal beer guy around I talk to at the liquor store, so some other dude was pushing these hard. Apparently they sold out quick and people loved them

So anyways I snag 2 of them because I don't know the guy and don't usually trust people who's tastes I haven't verified. The first one I drank a few days after I bought it. It was passable as an IPA but that's about it, nothing great....I didn't want to finish it but beer is beer. Too dry, tastes too "pine-y".

So now I'm sitting here bored and whatnot about 2 months later, this one is no better. Nothing worth buying once even to try. I'll finish it but yeah disappointed, especially since I absolutely love their Ten-Fidy. Damn good beer for $4.

This, not so much

Good to know I am not so much in the minority. I agree it is very dry.

Seriously, I am still mad about this one and have sworn off anything from Oskar Blues for a good long while. When you are commanding $3-$4 a beer it better be fan-effing-tastic. Hell, even Bells Hopslam was barely that much. I used to be a big fan of Dales Pale, but the Modus Hoperandi from Ska Brewing is way better for less cash.

I need another Lagunitas Maximus IPA.....

Can't find many of those beers here, really limited on IPA's since DFH pulled out. Kind of got sick of IPAs anyways. More of a Stout/Quad guy anyways.

I did however enjoy Dreadnaught, 90 minute IPA and 120 Minute IPA.

Give Ten-Fidy a try though if you haven't. Considering most Stouts get pricey, I'd say it's quite good for $4.

The FCB had a very slight chocolate flavor, not as much as I had hoped but still very good. The coffee flavor is not there at all in the Java Head IMO but still a good tasting stout.

Cool, although I have to chuckle when I see "The most comprehensive mapping of the breweries of the USA ever compiled" and three of the oldest and largest capacity craft brewery houses in my area aren't even on the map. Sierra Nevada (27 years), Sudwerk (22 years) and Moylan's (18 years). But they got the Budweiser plant in Fairfield on there.:fp.

I love the Hop Harvest, this past year it was almost as limited in GA as KBS for some reason. Hopefully with their expansion the availability will increase. Centennial is great and almost always available, its one of those beers that I will grab and ask myself "Why don't you drink this more often?!"

My friend was passing through Indy on a business trip, stopped at the pub the day after and had some on tap. He said it was good as ever, sweet again but not over the top. I may try to snag a bottle or two. I had a 2010 last week, amazing stuff with 2 years on it, it should last another 5-8 years.

We have the same "brewery only growler fills" law here. Dumb law. They would work great for filling off homebrew kegs to bring to the ballpark/disc golf course/cabin/park/etc., however. No chance of breakage with moderate abuse.

You're killing me! I love Fin du monde, Matilda, and Three Philosophers. Knowing that take this with a grain of salt.

You don't have any of the Belgian Trappist beers on either list. Give Rochefort, Achel, and Westmalle a shot just because you should.

I'm really intrigued by this beer. Take some water and put it into the fridge with some slices of cucumber in it. After a few hours you've got a refreshing treat. The flavor isn't overwhelming, but it is there. That intensity of flavor is perfect for a saison. I will say I'm more intrigued knowing its CCB, they can probably do exactly what I'm envisioning. Wish they distributed up here. Hoping hill farmstead gets some for their saison fest.

Southern Tier Creme Brûlée.
Hmm. I took a few sips and kept thinking I knew that exact flavor. Finally figured it out...
The cheap, flavored "Cappucino" that comes out of the machine at gas stations. Dead ringer
for that flavor. Not really all that impressed with the beer.
:2

I appreciate that hard-won knowledge.....it will help me greatly as I hunt for the perfect beer for me.
Not really a IPA guy, and the stouts I love can get to be a bit much, especially in the deep south,
of which I am not in but feel right now as if I was. HEY, LOOK, A COOL FRONT NEXT WEEK....only 94.

Just had beer #1 out of the Sam Adams Hopology variety pack . This is 'Angry Monk' - A Belgian IPA. Actually, surprisingly good.

Wow, Tony, awesome set-up! :tu

Just finished a kayaking weekend with some buddies. No pictures of beer but we enjoyed:

Union Jack IPA by Firestone-Walker
Belgian Brown by Blue Mountain Brewery
Dark Hollow (nitro tap) by Blue Mountain
Dale's Pale Ale
Summer Solstice by Anderson Valley (they call it a Cream Ale, but it's really more like a Cream Soda Ale--very vanilla & perfumey)
Bell's Two Hearted Ale
Wrecking Bock by Castle Hollow Brewery ;)
Hops.I.Am (2012) by Castle Hollow

And one of my friends brought a 4 year old bottle of his still mead (17%) and a carbonated ginger mead (very dry) that we split.

Good times :noon

Ruination 10th

It's a good beer standing on its own. However it doesn't seem all that much like Ruination. Ruination is this dry, bitter beer that's all buttering hops. I guess to get the higher alcohol in the 10th they had to increase the malt to an extent that it is more noticeable - the overall balance changes from utter imbalance to something not quite as extreme. Again it's a good beer, just not what I was imagining. I'd say it reminds me more of Lagunitas Maximus than of regular Ruination.

Still love the label though :D

NH doesn't get a lot of variety that's for sure. You are close enough to some really world class beers in your neighbor states though.

How much of a drive is VT for you Julian? Heady Topper would be worth the drive if you're close enough. Got a can of it a while back in a trade, it was one of the best beers I've ever had.

Lambick X. Blend of 2010 and 2011 lambic ales. The lambics are from local Belgian brewers, blended/bottled/sold by Vanberg and Famille. Zero carb in this lambic. But I still love it. Funky cheese, sweet hay, earth, oak, lemon, twang.. Just a great Belgian lambic. More bottles will be aged

I've really been digging the sour ales recently. I think that Rodenbach Grand Cru is probably my favorite so far. They've pretty much all been good though.
