Had a bottle of Saranac Chocolate Lager with dinner. Not bad at all. Just enough chocolate flavor with out being over bearing.

Redeemed my palate a bit last night with some 21st Amendment Back in Black IPA. :)
And the High Life we had was NOT the champaign of bottled beer. Hell...it was keg High Life. Had to continue to apologize to my wife last night for what it did to my system. Every beer has it's place and time. That "beer" does not like me, and may just be best used as a bath for brats. :)

Rule-If you dont drink it. Dont Cook with it.
Lagunitas Olde Gnarleywine, delicious!
Bell's the Wild One, liked it but was looking for more behind it's tartness. If I have it another time I'll try to pair it with some food instead of a cigar, probably would work better for me.

Drank quite a bit of this when i visited the brewery. Not sure which i like better, this or the un earthly. I have never had the Hoppe which is the other half of the Gemini. that might be where that flavor is coming from.

I was fortunate enough to try Black Note twice within a couple weeks, once out of bottle and once out of keg. The bottle version was very good, but not mind blowing IMO. The keg version, IMO, was better and more unique. The bottle version tasted like a very well made bourbon imp. stout (very dark fruity-raisin-y), whereas the keg version really seemed unique in that the double cream stout portion really came through more and made for a unique beer.
I wonder if anyone else has noticed a difference?

You won't be dissapointed. If you ever get a chance to come to the brewery...DO IT. They have many brews that never make it out of the brewery's bar on purpose. I have not had 1 bad beer from them.

Tried the DFH Palo Santo recently and actually liked it pretty well.
Then some friends brought over DFH Raison d'Etre and it was good too.
Tonight I tried the Chicory Stout and it falls firmly in the category of weird beers that were making me avoid DFH entirely.
So at this point I really like Palo Santo, Raison d'Etre, and 90 min, and have no use for Burton Baton, Chicory Stout, 60 min.
Weird.
