Yeah, last year it was out in october and I was thinking it was annual at that time. Went and asked about it then and they had none. Actually, the Cub Foods liquor store by my house had it last year as well. Blue Max trip is definitely on the agenda for today.:tu

The 2010 release (which I think was the first) was pretty easy to get in this area. It sat on shelves for a week. I just kept going around town picking it up. I didn't think anything of it since the 09 bourbon county was out for a full year bombers and 12oz. Never knew it was that limited. So when Vanilla and Rare hit it was impossible to grab a bottle. Even the Bourbon counties after the 09 got hard to get. I do think since Goose Island got bought AB increased the amout they ship and distribute which has caused the beers harder to get.

Yeah BCS would sit on shelves for a while pre 2010. Now the stuff just vanishes as soon as the truck drops of the beer....

I don't know, I didn't buy it.

It was apparently sold with the beer. Bottled like beer....on Ratebeer.

But to me, no it does not count as beer. It was awful.

It tasted like flat sh*tty Riesling wine with water :pu

woodchuck is cider.
we have a local orchard that makes cider - 4 or 5 different versions from dry to sweet. not too bad, but more like champagne than beer.

Double Bastard is an American Strong Ale.. It's going to be much more malty and sweet than a DIPA. It's very hoppy though, and I can see how people would think it's an DIPA.

They're only going to released on draft at Hunahpu (for now anyway), wish they would make some of these into production batches, we'll see.

That doesn't sound very good.

To be fair it says "smoked chili peppers" so that might not be chipotles, but every smoked chili beer I've had used chipotles, and none were better than drinkable (and most weren't even that good).

But hey, someone must like them, and different strokes for different folks...makes the world go 'round'. :tu

Has anyone tried the new Bud Light Platinum? While I try to stay away from light beers and stick with craft brews, its so convenient to drink a light American beer every now and then.

I have heard it's just the same old American light lager garbage. But like they say, taste is subjective. If I want a light brew, I go for a Pils, Hefe, or Saison. They're not really calorie savers, but light body and crisp. Calorie saver for me is a Sam Adams Light.

I really don't know if they are brewing any of Goose Islands beers.. But AB did buy majority ownership, which makes GI a subsidiary to AB. Technically GI is now apart of AB's product portfolio. However, I would not buy any beers brewed directly by the parent company, AB:D

Well, I believe they are an acquired taste for most. I reacted similarly to my first sour, but then began to appreciate and crave them.

That said, Monk's is a good example of that style IMO, but certainly not the best. I think Rodenbach Grand Cru (not the regular Rodenbach) is a better example of the style.

There are also a lot of other sour/wild styles out there, some very sour and some barely sour at all.

Nice. Less than 12 hours till I get to crack another one of those open. Just have to work first.

Dose Bud light count as beer or semi chilled gnats piss.

Or a better note ive been drinking a lot of Robinson's Old Tom ale and unicorn both are stella ales and another one that is good for this time of the year is Teakersons Old Peculier.

Ive also developed a taste for Legend of the white horse recently a damn good ale.

Ruthless Rye from Sierra Nevada......GREAT STUFF!! So happy we finally got something other than the Pale Ale up here. Don't get me wrong, I still love the PA, but it's nice to have something different from them finally.

Other favorite was their Tumbler Ale, but only had 1 12 pack in stock and never replenished. :(

Ruthless Rye is one of the better SA offerings, IMO. That and the Torpedo.
