I did not realize that Punch was rolling a Rare Corojo in the Champion size. I like the regular Champion. May have to give this a try.

I was listening to the Dogwatch Cigar Radio podcast today, and Bob was saying he had enjoyed a Rare Corojo perfecto, and there was some debate as to what exactly it was. Dale insisted it was the Champion, and I guess he was right.

Bought these yesterday. The shop owner was getting calls from rocky patel and someone else the whole time he was talking with me in the humidor. lol

From left to right: the owner tossed this one in on the house and called it a 'private blend', Another of my favortie brand so far that I have not tired: Private Reserve Ragged, Cruzado Avalitos, Illusione 2, Cabaiguan Petit Robusto, Cabaiguan Robustos Extra, RP Winter Collection 2009, RP Olde World Reserve

My intentions today were to buy some sticks that I have never tried, and help fill my new humi. I also bought some smokes that I always smoke...like the Short Stories. The reviews have been not so good on the new Nub's, but I was happy to see them there. I also bought a few smokes that I will definitely slow down to enjoy.

Yeah those are very cool looking, and I am hoping it tastes as great as it looks. I was also surprised to see a brand new box of the Don Carlos Edicion de Aniversario, Double Robusto 2006, and singles for sale.

They had tons of limited edition boxes of some very expensive stuff. I was tempted by a couple opusX A's, but I am not paying $50 for an opusx.

I am now scared of this place...this was the most expensive single buy I have ever made on cigars. :(

troutbreath

I could definitely get in trouble in a place like that. You don't have to get the best sticks every time, though. It's great to find a place with variety and the occasional great stick. My local places don't really have the high end options or "boutique" cigars. Fortunately, I travel a lot so I don't have to shop locally!

I'm looking forward to your reviews.

Not all 32 are Power Rangers. But the 12 I found today were. I asked the man at the store if there was a limit, and he said yes. I asked, "how many?"

He replied, "How many do you want?"
"The rest," I said.
He then told me that nobody had told him just what the limit was, and since there was no sign, then the rest were mine.

It's all timing! If the store manager had been there, my wife might still be getting an anniversary present.

thats not a good thing to love. lol At over $22 each. I'd be buying 1926's for that much. For some reason I am able to justify $14 for a cigar but once its above $20 I just can't. Must be the broke college student mentality.

That would be a good poll. What is your price threshhold? I really never flinch up to about $14-15, like you say . . . but after that it gets a little dicey.

Chris.
07-11-2009, 06:39 AM
For a single that I have never had, $15 is my limit, unless I have several friends say they are awesome. then, I might drop the dough on it. But honestly, at this point in my life, if a padron 1926 wasn't given to me in a bomb I would have never bought one to know how delicious they are. I've also heard mixed reviews on the ESG, so I can't justify the cost of those either.

In my mind I would just hate to be smoking a $20 cigar that tasted like a dog rocket, because at that cost, I'd force myself to smoke it. lol

thats not a good thing to love. lol At over $22 each. I'd be buying 1926's for that much. For some reason I am able to justify $14 for a cigar but once its above $20 I just can't. Must be the broke college student mentality.

The ESGs go for $34 at B&Ms here in Boston. I paid around $15 a stick so I am happy. These are not everyday smokes either.

Good stuff there! I scored some of the media corona when they were on sale awhile back & they are great! Out of curiousity, why the 7/10...is that when you'll dig them out again?

I almost fainted when I saw what they wanted for Paddies. I think the Bullet went for $50 or something like that. :(

I would tell them to F-off at that price and never buy anything from them. One of my local Tobacco Depot has all there ESG's at 15 each now because they do not sell well. They always had them listed for 21 each, but with the 3 cigar discount plus regular customer discounts...I could buy them for 16. I am actually waiting for them to fall under the 14 mark and I will buy the rest that they have.

They are a good cigar, but not 20+ good.

Well excuse us, most of us here don't light our Sharks and ESG's with $100 bills.

(edited to delete image of recent purchase because they are apparently not high end enough for some)

not sure why it's funny. I dont do it but dates are to note a time of purchase and how the cigar ages. Shouldnt have anything to do with prices.

Now writing the price that you paid for on your smokes to remind you your smoking a high end stick is funny!

Dude, relax and go smoke a cigar.

It was just my opinion that it would be a waste of time for ME to do it. I smoke a fair amount of cigars a week (figure at least a box) so they barely see the light of day before they are up in smoke.

As for my stash, it is nothing compared to most of the guys here. Yeah I have some Opus, ESG, Anejo, etc but those are saved for special days.

We cool? :ss

No doubt. I hope they at least give you a kiss as well.

I pay around $15 for my ESG. They are worth it to me at that price.

The barmaids at the $34 lounge are cute though. :)

yeahhhhh, you easily spend more for one cigar than you do for a pack of cigarettes. lol I thought about this the other day. I used to smoke and thought it was getting expensive for me so I quit. I've never been addicted, so it was easy to quit. I developed a habit of smoking them but never the feigning. Now I'm here smoking cigars that cost anywhere from $2 to $15 EACH! lol, what a great switch...:ss:dance:
