VERY Nice!! What size is that El Picador? Is that one of the EnCedro style?

It is a 5x40 Cheroot (torpedo shape). I love the size and the flavor is very impressive.

They are also severely limited; about 250 boxes will be made...

For info on them you can PM Larry (SkinsFanLarry) or check out this thread:

Quality picks there, Donny. If you want something a little more bold than that Tat red, give the brown band Tats a try. I fell in love with the Tat Regios and then upgraded to the Reserva J21 and that has become my go-to smoke.

You won't be dissapointed with that My Father either...GREAT smoke. :tu

The maddies are great!! Go to cigarplace, they have great deals on nubs, enter nub in the promo code box in your basket and it will knock another 20% off!! :tu
That takes them down to about 103.00 + shipping for the 460's.

I really enjoy the torpedo Nubs, so when I saw the Maduro's in 464T on cigar monster for a little more than cigarplace has the 460's, I couldn't stop myself from picking up a box. I'll be posting a couple of fivers of them and a few other things here in a day or two. I need to clear out a little room and raise a little money to get a wine cooler to keep all this stuff in :r

All my storage is packed tight and can't take much more than a hand full of singles and I still have two boxes that are supposed to land soon. I can't say yet. I have had the torpedo blend, from what i gather each vitola is a different blend. The torpedos were very good and this box was given to the shop owner a few months before the original release, so they're a year and a few months old at this point.

It was a beautiful sight....

It was only made possible by helping out some other brothers as there is no way I could have afforded to keep all that....I kept two boxes and the rares....The rest are all packaged up and ready to go to their new homes. But for a moment I was in Opus heaven!!!

A few things I found out while there was:

*****cats and Magnum O's are going to be a regular release and are now included in the Fuente catalog. I was told the Double Robustos are going to be regular as well but they are not pictured in the catalog and one would think they would be as they came out before the cats and O's. Also, Opus Sharks are going to be a regular production and we were able to pre-order a box while at the event.

If you ever have the change to go to Holts on walnut street, do so. It is nothing at all like what they sell in the catalog and they always have Opus and hemingway in stock at MSRP...

I also had the private attention of Carlos and Carlito when they were signing all those boxes. Carlito said his hands were shaking....lol. He even invited me to tour the factory and gave me his email addy (not sure how common that is).

Overall a great, once in a lifetime event.....

Awesome bro. My goal in cigar life is to one day acquire a box of Opus. You are my hero.

As a Canuck I cannot say enuff good things about Paul and the guys at Atlantic! Here's my latest haul (although the lighters and Palio are from a previous order a week ago where I also bought a box of EP Carillios (not shown)

http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/300kph/Cigarz/June_21_2010000.jpg

http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/300kph/Cigarz/DSC00417-1.jpg

http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/300kph/Cigarz/June_21_2010004.jpg

I am home recovering from shoulder surgery and bored to Hell so I find myself picking up the phone and calling Paul from Atlantic ever couple weeks. We talk cigars and he suggests new things for me to try. This is the 10th or 11th time I've ordered from them and always the best in product, price and service!

I was hoping to get a lot more Padron Exclusivos but he only had the 4 singles left. I simply said send me a nice mixed bag of tricks but be sure to inlcude a few Alec Bradleys, some Don Pepin Blues and Cigar show sampler Version 1.0

He put together almost 40 of my faves and many I have yet to try.

http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/300kph/Cigarz/June_21_2010001.jpg

XIKAR HC SERIES CHURCHILL COLORADO (7x48)
ALEC BRADLEY SCR CHURCHILL (7x48)
ROOM 101 By Camacho 323 TORO (6x50)
QUESADA 35 ANIVERSARIO LTD (6x49)
GRAN HABANO 3 SLS SALOMONES LTD (6.75 X 64)
LA FLOR DOMINICANA LTD HABANO PERFECTO (5.62x54)
PINAR DEL RIO CLASSICO ROBUSTO (5x50)
LA AROMA DE CUBA NEW BLEND ROBUSTO (5x54)
CASA FERNANDEZ ROBUSTO (4.25x52)
CUBAO MADURO ROTHCHILD NO. 4 (4.87x50)

The top-right group of 10 are a sampler from the 2009 IPCPR. It's the 3rd time I've bought this particular ampler from Atlantic... all 10 are great smokes and for a tad over $50 you can't go wrong. (the Gran Habano 3 SLS Salomones alone tastes like a $25 cigar) They ALL rock! They have a second version (they call it version 2.0) that is also excellent (I've ordered it twice)

Lighters are a Montecristo with red Romeo y Julieta design (weighs a ton and has the same feel as an ST Dupont) the La Gloria is a no name but very good quality for the money.

Hate to sound like their poster-boy but this is a great hassle-free source for smokers North of the 49th parallel. Subscribe to their newsletter and get the inside scoop on their new arrivals and killer sales.

Giddy-up!

From Tex cigars:
"JFR stands for Just For Retailers which is why it's so hard for us to get our grubby paws on these sticks. Made by Tobacalera Tropical the JFR is shrouded in mystery. Was it originally blended by Pepin after his exodus from Cuba? No one is saying yea or nay but it matters not, this is a good stick. It's a great value, woody notes and spice are the core flavors of this medium bodied cigar. "

Looks like you ordered this from JR? I did the same on one of their auctions last week still waiting for delivery on these great smokes. I liked them since they were a shorter smoke I could enjoy without feeling too baked in the heat here.

Also received a box of CAO Brazilian Sambas that had a humidity pack in it was impressed atleast they care about the customer in the end.

Yep, I've become addicted to watching JR auctions *sigh* rofl. I can't remember what day I picked these up on, they run the short stories over there fairly often. It seems like they have one of the Hemingway line almost every day. Anyway, I did second day shipping on them since it was only a few more bucks and I'd prefer they didn't take forever crossing the hot Texas country :p hah

Picked up the LGC's as well just because I'd never had any LGC's and I figured for the price why the heck not. Their "art of the cigar" packs are cheap enough that I don't feel bad not buying a single to try first. I always figure...if I can get the cigars cheap enough, at worst, they'll be a great yardgar :tu

Those are (from top to bottom) a box of matches (Can never have too many matches!), a nearly full box of Thompson cigars at the top (Scared of smoking those... heard nothing but baaaad things), a container of propylene glycol, a Havana travel humidor, , A Colibri Table Lighter (pretty awesome actually), A Traveldor in iffy condition, a small desk humidor that is now an accessory box (awesome), A box that used to have some shop brand of cigars in it, but it has a REALLY good seal, so I'll use it for my overflow or emergency holder/traveler, and finally a 50 count desktop humidor with a terrible seal I need to fix.

All for under $30! lol I guess that's a good and bad thing.

And here's a picture of the two types of Thompson Cigars that came with this whole deal:

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b115/Azaelius/2010-06-26152700.jpg

Anyone have any experience with these? here are about 45 of the Red labeled ones and about 16 of the black labels.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, yesterday I bought two oliva serie g maduros at my local smoke shop, and their Oliva rep was in the store. So, long story short, I got a Cain F sample for freeeeeeeeee! Very short stick, but a large ring gauge, for sure.

Pic of the G Perfecto and Cain F below:

Aha! That's a good idea. A Very good one in fact! we'll just have to see how badly they suck after I've rehumidified them. If they're still dogs, then they're kindling. No one should be subject to something as terrible as these could be.

Oh, did I forget to mention everything here hasn't been humidified in over a year? Whoopsie. :r

Thanks! Mostly I'm excited about using the boxes and the lighter. The lighter was a good find.

Take the time with the rehumidification, give them atleast a month. :2

If you deem that they indeed suck, I would still let the troops decide. If they concur, they can use them to light their fires in the desert. :tu

I was just using the Big Island as the name for Hawaii. I couldn't get out there for the Big Smoke on April 1st/my birthday...but I told him as soon as I get my retro-active check I'd be able to do it. I don't know which island Marvin lives on.

Yes Marvin lives on Oahu, his shop is right in Honolulu pretty close to Waikiki... I lived less than a mile from his shop for awhile.

On a side note, those 2 Ruinations are extremely different in coloring, and they smell much different as well. one is VERY chocolaty, and the other smells like just really really good tobacco. This is kinda weird, honetsly.

Not a purchase of my own, but my wonderful mother decided to buy these for me. She warned me about it before she gave it to me and said she knew nothing about cigars but that she bought a bunch of them and a box. After unwrapping the box, this is what I was greeted with:
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j195/druturn/IMG00001-20100702-0111.jpg
When I saw this, my heart nearly leaped out of my chest! Upon opening the Padron box, I finally realized that what she said to me about what she bought was quite literal. This is what I was greeted with:
