These are a great stick if you can pick them up for retail. They have been kind of scarce in years past so the few I have found were usually marked up a bunch. Yes. There are three. One in natural, one in maduro and one Sun Grown.

They're a bit thicker than what I would imagine a Churchill being: 49-50RG.

And yes, the guy who makes them bundles them in newspaper.

Just smoked my first JG this weekend. Smoked a Beli. I really enjoyed it and it carried a nice spice all the way through. The amount of smoke that came off this thing was insane. Looked like a freight train. I am willing to bet that you will enjoy them.

I'm jealous!!!

My local B&M sells both tubos if you're in need.

I've had a red tubo resting for 10 days that I'm smoking after work today. But the one I just got will sit in for a good 6 weeks I'm sure.

The Palio Vs Xikar for me it's how much do you want to take off the cigar. Palios are great for a little bit and Xikar's are just monsters. The Xikar is smoother by far. The Palio has much more resistance.

I found the platinum 1999 tubos quite good, I did downsize to the rothschilds instead of the churchills though.

Yes Chingas but my humidor can't take anymore and neither can my bank account so that's my big last haul for at least ....6 weeks.

Don Pepin and son Jaime were at Holt's yesterday....stopped by ...pretty cool to meet them in person...they brought a cigar roller who was rolling on site....bought a box of Jaime Garcia petite robustos...love 'em...both signed the box....also picked up a new release special edition My Father, a toro, in coffin....only 2000 boxes of 12 were rolled, and each stick rolled by Jaime and Pepin ONLY...had them sign the coffin too....also got a Tshirt, a free 5er of Pepin sticks, and one of the fresh rolled sticks that the roller was doing on site, its the DPG Blue filler with a My Father wrapper....ummmmm....

Keith, you pretty much posted all the info, I know for a fact that they use the same wrapper as the 1922's though. Pelo de Oro or whatever.

Uses Pelo de Oro (one of only two dpg sticks, along with the 2009 Tat La Verite being released next year)...BIG fraker, very dark wrapper, and interestingly, the coffins smell quite a bit like varnish...

Never been a CAO fan but I am digging the La Traviata. And the price is awesome! Well the new Maduro version are a "must try" for sure. I like them so much I picked up 3 boxes. And they came with a free ashtray!
