Some images are spectacular right out of the camera.
Some images need just a bit of refining in post processing to really shine...
And then there are the images that look rather mundane as shot... but with some heavy handed post processing in the computer, can be made into hidden gems.
I thought I'd share a few before-and-after examples of the latter category. Images that to me were "meh" out of the camera, bound for the cutting room floor... but with 5-10 minutes experimentation in post processing, became finished pieces I'm proud of.
A few of these pics I took nearly 10 years ago, but am just now revisiting them with a fresh eye. Maybe it will inspire you to reconsider a few of your own images in a new light.
*processed entirely in Lightroom, although the same could be achieved with photoshop.

HA, I thought the same thing Remo did....
I hadn't been around in SO DAMN LONG, got the stinky end of the douchebag from a higher-up here and his pal
and I didn't want to be here anymore, didn't want to see their posts or names in print. But today I decided to
pop in and see how things were. Been into some great stuff in Memphis, bringing the songwriter scene back
to more respectable levels. Comparing very favorably to Nashville again now, but without all the crappy things
about the other music city.

4-holer likely wasn't a Century was it? Wasn't the 4-holes reserved for the higher end models?

4-holer likely wasn't a Century was it? Wasn't the 4-holes reserved for the higher end models?
Personally I have no clue, but a quick google says 4 holes standard in '55-'57 Century.

The Poet

BTW, 1957 Century was just my first (apparently wrong) guess, as all I could judge from the photo was mid-'50s Buick of some model.
1955 Buick Roadmaster I believe.

Thanks, but in the ORIGINAL photo by Ron, post #4276, and the pic that started all this discussion, we cannot see the grill . . . only part of the front bumper.
You can blame Ron for posting an untitled picture, but I prefer you blame me for asking what it was. :r

Great photos, Tony! The clarity is wonderfully sharp. I especially like the owl and the gator.
Much appreciated! I really enjoy wildlife photography.
How long of a telephoto lens did you use for those? Herons in particular are very skittish when someone approaches.
I wish I could say I had a real dslr but it is just an old Nikon COOLPIX P510. It has a 42x optical zoom and I used every bit of it for all of those photos.
That first one is unreal, very cool Tony!
I haven't been out shooting in so long, think I need to make some time for it
Thank you kindly!

This was from the western Michigan Upper Peninsula. It's a waterfall hunter's wet dream in that area

This one was caught me by surprise. The original before I worked with it in Photoshop was backlit and had no detail on the hawk.

I think these are buffleheads? A real long distance shot with a 300mm zoom lens. I really want a 600 or higher but 10 to 12 grand for a single lens???

Purely a lucky shot of some wood ducks. They are really nervous birds who take off the first sign of someone approaching. These just happened to fly right over me.

Thanks everyone, but those shots of the dolphins were pure luck. Just held the shutter button down and let the camera do the rest. When I got home to really look at the pics I was like "holllly crap these are great!"
