fckkkk pulled my back out yesterday, it hurts so bad. And being that im on the road for work its not going to be able to recover properly till i get home, cuz lugging the suitcases around is part of the job. I would use it as an excuse why i cant exercise, but i don't do anything yet anyway lol

Went to a cookout last night. It was torture skipping out on the desserts that were out there. It would have been nothing at all for me to have eaten a cupcake or two, 3-4 cookies, and a piece of apple pie that was there, but I stood firm and only ate 2 burgers w/ mayo and a couple pieces of broccoli (note to self-it's MUCH better cooked with butter and cheese).

I did pretty well out at my friends lake cottage. Just got back and jumped on the scale, 222.6. Don't know how that happened, although I did get a 2.5mil walk/run in this morning. I"m guessing all the playing in the water burned a few calories. Now back to the regime.
Congrats Scott on breaking the 200 barrier. Gotta be one of the greatest feelings.

Thanks, Bob. :)
I was down to 185 last year, but got mostly immobile because of my health and I ballooned to 223 again. I weighed 250 when I started.
I learned a LOT through that whole episode. The greatest thing was the change of mindset from "live to eat" to "eat to live". It's been very easy to get back on track.
Add to that that so many foods exasperate my neural sh1t, and eating has really gone from fun to pain in the ass. I have to look up everything I eat, and if I get too much potassium by mistake, I suffer immense body-wide pain 18 hours later. I suppose food is kinda my anabuse.
I see my doc in a couple weeks and I'll likely be set up with a dietician so I can develop a potassium-free crappy diet. That'll make not eating all that much easier. ;)

on the road in ontario this week, just ate hotel breakfast and made the mistake of asking to see the packages AFTER i ate them, the "western omelette" and packaged sausages had 10-11 carbs in what i ate, so gotta be careful the rest of the day. Sticking to real breakfast from restaurants from now oN!

So my first vacation since losing weight...also my first time drinking beer too! LOL
I ran the first day(well did my best for 30 minutes with the ridiculous amount of grades and such by the house) also that same day did some 1063 stairs to the bottom of a gorge. Legs were burning so bad i was sore for the rest of the trip. Did lots of walking but no real cardio after that. Didnt go crazy on eating bad but I definitely wasnt a good boy! LOL Never had more than 2 beers in a night either.
Now I'm scared to check the scale. My pants are still falling off of me pretty bad so I dont feel to bad.

Gained a couple of lbs over the holiday. A post-workout weigh-in shows me back down below my Sunday weight. A few more days and I should crack 250 in the right direction.

Day 5 of Power 90, cardio and abs. Even just after a few times, the routine is starting to get easier, so I"m increasing the pace a bit. Still behind the DVD, but catching up. Plus I made it through ~65 of the 100 different ab crunches. Shirt was soaked again when I finished up. It really does work up a good sweat.
Tomorrow should be a good day for weights, as my new utility bench arrives. Time to start sculpting the chest with different fly's and presses.
Halfway through the book I"m reading about overeating. Interesting facts from food industry insiders. Like how most processed food today is formulated to take on average ten chews to finish a bite, whereas 30+ years ago the average human took 25 chews to finish a bite of food. All of this in an effort to make you eat faster and eat more. Just another reason to shy away from processed foods and eat whole foods.

Just kidding. Could be the metabolism is running higher, converting what you eat into energy to fuel the fires at a quicker pace.

Looks like a lot of good news all around, especially Scott breaking the 200 barrier. Congrats to all! I did like a few others in here and gained some weight over the holiday. I'm back up to 243, but I'm not sure that's an accurate weight b/c of the long drive home the day before. 12 hour drives cause me to swell up a bit and retain water, so I'm not recording it this week. Vacation is officially over, so it's back on track 100% this week.

Got the new workout bench in today. Easy setup, maybe 30 minutes and part of that time was fumbling around for a decent wrench. Very sturdy bench, will help with the weigh training. Since I'm still technically starting out, I didn't push too much and only did a few extra sets after my normal program.

down 4 this week. I'm at my lowest weight since 2005 when I was 313.5. Hopefully by next week I'll be below that, and I've only really been keeping track since 2005, so God only knows what kinda record I'll set when I get below that. Below 300 will be a fantastic thing, right now goal is 250- might just make it by next annual physical in April. But, getting ahead of myself. Happy to be going onwards and downwards!

I've pretty much done nothing the past two days, Hugh. It's started to subside a bit the past hour or two, but last night was hell trying to get some sleep.:td
I did a couple of leg lifts about two hours ago, cradling my knees in toward my chest. Pain started to subside a bit after that.

Is it possible that it's back spasms?
I'd recommend no impact activities and light stretching to keep things from tightening up. Might try a heating pad or ice pack and see how it responds to that.

Some light yoga stretches like the sun salutation or spine extension might help. Instead of doing them on the board, just watch the demo and do them at your own pace. Standing knee might help too, if you have decent balance. I forget whether that one's under yoga or strength...

Do a search online for lower back stretches. When I had my back issues I was doing ALL the wrong stretches for long term help.
I feel your pain though. After my longest run a couple days ago I have seemed to develop plantar fasciitis. I need my excersize otherwise I feel like I am gonna slide backwards....sucks. I could barely walk the last couple days. Today it is SLIGHTLY better but still killing me. :sh

I've read a few articles that blame modern running shoes for this and other injuries. All of the padding encourages running on the heels, which is very jarring.
Once I drop a bit more weight, I'd like to get back into running, and maybe biking. Years ago, I was running about 4 miles a day. Nothing like the feeling of finishing up a good run.

Plantar fasciitis takes a long time to recover from. I battled a severe case for 3 years that I picked up walking on concrete floors of a factory all day long. I did physical therapy with stretching exercises, ultrasound, you name it. The most effective relief was a cortisone shot. I recommend seeing a GOOD doctor to do it. The first shots I had done was just some podiatrist down the road and it didn't even last 2 days. I bad a 2nd round from one of the doctors used by the colts and it worked for awhile. Pain was excruciating for the shots, but mine was so bad I was walking on the outside edges of my foot rather than my soles.
Stretching-sit on a chair and roll a tennis ball/baseball under your heel a couple of times a day for 10 minutes or so. You can do calf stretches that will also stretch the same area where you're getting pain. Fill some daisy cups with water and freeze and apply daily to reduce inflammation along with taking aleve. Avoid any activity other than walking as increased pressure will make it worse. LMK if you need any more advice.
This was a major ***** in my life and a big reason why it's necessary to diet today. I weighed 182 # and worked out a lot until I got plantar fasciitis. I laid around, felt sorry for myself, and turned to food to try to cope. I've just been on a roller coaster the past 5 years trying to take it back off.

after a week on the road im back down to my lowest, very happy about this. Interestingly on the road i ate a lot less than what i had been eating at home. Breakfast may have been bacon and eggs and for lunch id just snack on some turkey meat and cheese i kept in a portable cooler, then dinner meat and veg. I feel like i ate a lot less on the road anyway, but im not sure. INTERESTING. Started at 339 april 27th, down to 316.1 now, want to get to 300 by sept-oct

Andy, if your back is in spasm, heat usally helps. If you slipped something and it's caused inflammation, then the inflammation has caused spasm, ice and nsaids like motrin (I use 4x200mg 4 x's a day) will take out the swelling.
My personal opinion from my personal experience is that if I lay down and let the problem simmer, I'll have a major problem in no time. It just snowballs and gets so tight it makes you sick to the stomach.
If it's spam, the heating pad should iron that out in a day. If it hasn't gotten markedly better, I'd suggest you make a bunch of gallon bags of crushed ice wrapped in towels, strap them suckers on, let your back get cooled off, make sure you took your motrin, and get moving around. Your support structure will get your backbone back where it was with a minimal amount of discomfort (read: it'll probably hurt like hell, but it'll hurt a lot worse if you lay around on it).
So on the stretching, not just yet. Do that other stuff first and see if you can get fixed up. :tu

it scares me to lose weight fast, yet at the same time, seeing those numbers drop on the regular keeps one motivated.
They say that the slower you lose, the more likely you are to keep it off. I've lost nearly 100 lbs before in 6 months, and true enough i gained it all back, so maybe losing slow isn't a bad thing - although i can say this: having lost it fast before, not losing it fast now is still discouraging - motivational speeches or not.

I think it depends on how you lose the weight. Mine's coming off pretty quick, but I'm not starving myself. I just cut back portions, and started making healthier choices. I eat yogurt often for breakfast, have a couple of plums or a banana instead of chips, and drink a ton of water. If we order pizza, I have 2 slices instead of 4. Once in a while, I allow myself some soda, or a couple of cookies, etc.
It didn't take my body long to adjust to the smaller portions, either. Last night I had one of those BK Cheddar Bacon Tendercrisps, and felt like I'd just finished Thanksgiving dinner. I used to polish off a couple of Whoppers or Big Macs in a sitting. :r

It didn't take my body long to adjust to the smaller portions, either. Last night I had one of those BK Cheddar Bacon Tendercrisps, and felt like I'd just finished Thanksgiving dinner. I used to polish off a couple of Whoppers or Big Macs in a sitting. :r

I think that's it. Everything in moderation, and make habit of it. It's just the complete opposite of the way I used to do it. If one pack of Swiss Cake Rolls was good, a whole box is better.
It does become habit to eat reasonably and to make better choices, it just takes time. :tu

As long as the scale keeps going down- and/or your belt size decreases- that's that matters. It is also true what is often said: "Losing weight is easy- it's keeping it off that's hard!"
An old buddy of mine says "That ain't hard, a rock is hard. All it takes is a conscious effort." It certainly applies here. :)

Once in a while, I allow myself some soda, or a couple of cookies, etc.

i'm not sure i agree guys. They say that losing weight quickly means you WILL gain it back one day, and have lived this. I would rather lose it slowly if it meant keeping it off. If you aren't sick, but are losing weight and feeling good, chances are you're doing something right, so im not sure that the methodology is AS important as the results and keeping them
they say fast weight changes - like losing lots of weight very quickly - stresses your body, your heart and your immune system. And, since you're likely to put that weight back on again, you could start a cycle of yo-yo dieting that will negatively affect your overall health. Losing weight slowly, however, allows your body to adjust to the changes gradually - I've done this, and it sucks :(

I've lost a lot of weight quickly a lot of times. I even did it in this thread, I went from 250 to 185 back to 225. I won't express my views on "dieting" because they're mostly negative and they honestly do work for lots of people to get the weight off. How anyone gets there really doesn't matter, or how long it takes. Whether or not a change of heart concerning food happens, or a change of lifestyle occurs, I think that's key. It certainly has been from my experience. I lose weight and fall back into old eating habits for one reason or another.
I just hope everyone can stick it out long enough so they can see that food isn't a great big carnival and shouldn't have such a mystical power attached to it. It should be a pleasure, a blessing, sure. It should even be a special event sometimes, but not every minute of every day. That's the point where it departs from healthy into unhealthy, when it becomes an idol or a deity or whatever you might want to call it. It's just food.

I've read a lot of good stuff about Cheat days and a lot of diets base their methods on them.
The idea is that our bodies are very resistant to change (true) and by having a cheat day every time you get on a plateau, where your body really wants to hold onto your fat, the cheat day tricks the body into thinking "oh, things are back to normal, i can relax now and stop holding onto the fat so tightly" - and then you get back on teh wagon and continue your changed life
I've had success with it in the past, but don't know if it should be a cheat day, cheat meal, or not at all and just tough out a plateau. I'm undecided, and don't know if it's safe (mentally safe i mean) for us low carbers.
How do you folks in here feel about this?

I don't think a cheat day is a good idea at all, if it's just for the sake of a cheat day. If something special comes along like an Anniversary Dinner of Graduation or whatever and the menu is out of the line of what one would ordinarily eat, then by all means, have at her. If the cheat day is simply for the sake of overeating, I think it's a really bad idea. It simply exists to help bad habits to remain.
They say it takes a month to change a habit. If I take a cheat day every week, that'll ensure I never get the habit changed, so it just dooms me to never getting used to a new way of doing things.
I'm sure there's other lines of thought, and everyone has their right to do what they see fit, but I can't see any productive reason for it, except for maybe getting the hook in someone, then doing away with the cheat day later. I don't even think that's a good idea.

Myles, I'm an alcoholic. I haven't had a drink in over 8 years. If I'd have taken a cheat day a week, the only time I'd have ever stopped drinking is when I was in jail. :D
Everyone who's trying to lose weight isn't a food addict, and that's why I'm ever conscious not to lump everyone together. Some folks just have bad habits. A lot of bad habits are because there's no time to stop for a decent meal, or you don't want to waste good money you just spent at BK by leaving half a Whopper on the seat of the car, or food turns into entertainment because work is so damned boring. That stuff can get changed by developing new habits and can be changed in a real short time. A cheat day wouldn't be productive in developing new habits because that takes time.
On the other hand, if I'm a hard core food addict, a cheat day isn't a good idea for a million reasons.
I've learned a lot of stuff about how my tiny little brain works over the years and found that I can lean on the same stuff that got me sober to fix all kinds of other stuff. It's not any kind of magically deep scientific sh1t, either. Just mostly real good common sense that I failed to pick up along the way.
Point is, lots of the stuff I picked up works across the board, and makes just as much sense for changing bad habits, because that's a great big part of fixing alcoholism/addiction.
I'm always willing to listen to other ideas and approaches to problems, because other folks share really good stuff a LOT. It's why I don't have any "written in stone" thoughts or ideas. I'll take all the help I can get. I need it. :)

I think the definition of "cheat" is what is important. It's a relative thing. If you have adjusted your lifestyle - exercise and consumption to healthy ways then "cheating" should have a different context than in the past.
Having a strawberry shortcake sunday might be a new definition of "cheating" as opposed to in the past eating the entire half gallon of ice cream with the whole jar of fudge and bag of walnuts. It's all about temperance. Not eating the 2000 calorie junk food lunch, eating healthy opens the door to "sweet rewards" occasionally without piling on the pounds. Personally I have certain foods that are "addictive" - potato chips is a good example. Just need to stay away from them as a chip usually leads to a pretty significant portion of a 1 lb bag.
When it comes to a long term weight loss program, I'm not a fan of out of context cheat days. There is no need to consume 4000 calories "because you deserve it". The occasional "rewards" are good stuff. Having a couple slices of pizza cux you miss and love it - yup. Eating the whole thing because you deserve it - nope.
I have "rewarded" over the past 100+ days of my fitness program. Having icecream, a steak etc. Have managed to avoid the "old habit rewards". No french fries, junk food, binge portions, etc. It's a change of context but .. it's all good. Tend to eat a bit less and exercise a bit the day after, which to me seems "right".
Have come to realize that no matter how hard you work out, the strongest thing you have in your arsenal to accomplishing your fitness or weight loss objectives is your mind. It's not absolute. You can fall off the wagon today. Just have the strength to get back on tomorrow with a vengence. After a while you dont fall as often or as far and the changes you make for a healthier life become a normal part of your life.

You're totally right Dave. I never thought of it like that. Absolutely the old me, a reward would be a half dozen donuts for example, but really it wasn't a reward, it was just something to binge on. Now tho, maybe a single dessert after dinner, or a cocktail or beer once every couple of weeks or something would be my idea of a cheat. I don't mean going crazy, and eating 4000 calories in a meal as per your example, but even a single dessert - my concern is that - that single dessert after dinner one night, could lead to a dessert two times a week, then 3, then every night, etc etc. But you're totally right, that it's relative to the lifestyle we're leading, and what our idea of a "cheat" is :) - As a former drug addict, I wouldn't go do a line of blow as a reward for anything, because who knows where it could lead - same concern with a piece of pie or a dish of ice cream - truth is i'm scared.

I got a good recipe from a friend at work, she said they were great and i agree.
Reminds me somewhat of something my mom made growing up
Golden Zuchini-Feta Cakes
Combine 2 grated medium zuchini (about 3 cups) with 1/2 tsp salt. Let stand for 10 minutes (squeeze out as much liquid as possible). Whisk 2 eggs with 1/2 cup all-purpose flour and 2 tbsp chopped fresh dill in a medium bowl. Stir zuchini into egg mixture with 1/2 cup crumbled feta and 2 sliced green onions. Season with Pepper.
Heat in pan with some oil about 3-4 minutes per side until brown
Serves 4: Per serving:
178 Calories, 8g Protein, 17g Carbs, 9g Fat, 2g fibre, 387MG sodium. Excellent source of foliate.
I skipped the flour and used dry dill instead of fresh :)
Also i made a KILLER KILLER guacamole, and i dont know why, but instead of lime juice i used champagne vinegar in it (just a bit) and it was the frickin best guac ive ever made
I ate the zuchini cakes with some guac, and salsa and sour cream, they were epic

I had noodles, peas, and a wedge of lettuce. It was good, but the chicken looked better. I could have had a couple of the wings, but it wasn't worth the chance. I'm feeling great and I want to get out there and work on the deck tomorrow.
I'll show this to Lisa so we can try it when the zukes start coming. She loves guacamole, I'm kind of on the fence with it. It's only because it tastes like nothing to me. I've had it a couple times when it was really good, but those are few and far between. Usually it tastes like air and someone is telling me how good it is. :)
(Plus avacado is full of potassium, so I gotta be careful with it.)

If anything, cheat the other direction and take in less calories and see if it gets you bump-started again. You may have just changed your whole metabolism and your body doesn't know which way is up?

LOL! I ilke this idea "cheat the other way" - I have been trying this actually, ive been trying higher calorie one day, lower the next - to no avail. This stall is the longest ive had, over 2 weeks now, very unusual for a low carber. I definitely haven't been replacing fat with muscle (unless one can get muscle without doing any exercising) - so i'm going to start trying pushups, squats and crunches every morning to see if that does any good!

I finally caved 3 days ago and bought a new pair of jeans. Size 38. I have been avoiding it becuase I just bought all new jeans and shorts about 2 months ago(I DONT shop often). Finally I decided enough was enough when I ran out of belt loops and my pants were on the verge of falling off my ass if I wasnt wearing my gun.
The shorts are annoying too...I found another belt that works but I have to slide the lack in the shorts to the side so its not all bunched up under the belt...I guess I will have to go shopping...AGAIN.
Today I weighed in at 208.4
I think I will buy like two pairs of shorts and one more pair of jeans and see if I drop anymore. I am quite wide framed so I have always worn about 4 sizes larger than what people thought.

I've been on a plateau for several weeks and i haven't given up, so i don't know why you're giving up after only a few weeks. I stalled after 1 week, then started again - start-stop-start-stop. I don't know why you say "no way i can hit a plateau yet" - everyone is different, some people hit one sooner, some people later - the difference is those who stick to it always get over it. Also you can google "atkins plateau breakers" and find all kinds of methods people use to overcome them.

I shouldn't be hitting a plateau while on induction on weeks 2&3. It's one thing if I had been on longer and lost half of the 60 lbs I want to lose, but I'm just not going to keep wasting my time eliminating all of the carbs and make no progress doing it.

Plenty of people stall on weeks 2 and 3, and i've read at least a dozen cases of it happening. You refer to it as "wasting" your "time" - you've already got a defeatist attitude, and the hardest part about this is the mental, so whatever, nothing i can say.
p.s. - have you bothered taking measurements? Sometimes inches come off and lbs don't. Dr atkins didn't even consider it a plateau unless it was over 4 consecutive weeks.

Talking to Lisa, I realized that I hit the 30 pounds lost mark today. That's since I started, when we went on our honeymoon on March 8th.
That's around 120 days, I think. That'd amount to a 1/4th pound a day, or 1.75 a week. That's a bit aggressive, I usually lose at about 1.6 lbs/wk, or as low as 1.2 lbs/wk. Anywhere in that range is great for me.
I suppose if I checked the days exactly, it might be closer to 1.6.
I did nothing but decrease my portions and quit eating when I know I should. I eat a lot slower, too. That's pretty much habit now. It makes me wonder where I'll end up? I don't really have a goal, but I'm excited to see 185. I was buffed out at 185 when my daughter was born almost 15 years ago and it's been downhill from there. I guess my goal would be to listen to my wife tell me "you need to eat" every day. :D
I think 165 would be fair for a guy my age. That'd leave room to put on muscle if I'm ever able to get to the gym again. That'd kick ass. :tu

There's nothing wrong with those numbers at all, Myles. Actually they're great. Just keep doing what you're doing. I'm not sure how much food you're taking in a day, when I was on Atkins (lots of years ago) I overdid it a lot because I could. It just made me lose more weight. If I was to go back and do it over, I'd eat less. It never occurred to me that it'd let me burn more fat because my metabolism was a lot higher at that point. I was a good ten years younger then. :D

I think if you're making habit of very reasonable portions and learning to eat like skinny people, that's the biggie. It's something I never learned from Atkins, and why I gained all the weight back almost immediately. The diet bored me, and left me longing to eat stuff I wasn't allowed to, and that sent my addictive nature into overdrive.
Comparing that against what I'm doing now, which is loosely watching calories, and just creating good eating habits while not denying myself anything, I just feel like that's a more healthy and "normal" approach. Simple, too. Just don't eat too much, rather than throwing myself in food jail.
The diet for my neural stuff just makes me watch my potassium intake, which isn't all that hard and it's not very restrictive. Plus I have to make sure I get plenty of carbs. Why carbs, I have no clue. It's just what it is.
I just want to get "normalized and mainstreamed" and not have weight loss/control hanging over my head forever, ya know?

How about just a simple pair of shoes? I find walking around my neighborhood makes it much easier to stick with it than on a treadmill. Plus it's a lot cheaper.

It'd be nice to enjoy a bowl of cereal or whatever else to hearts content as long as I stay within my points, particularly when you can eats lots of fruits/veggies that don't count against your point total at all.

Power 90 combines circuit training with both cardio and weights. So one day you do all cardio, the next weights or resistance bands, with intervals of high intensity routines, moving from one to the next with just a couple of breaks after each set. They focus on all of the major body parts. Their is also the ABRipper routines where you do all different types of ab exercises.
I"m just over two weeks in and can see a marked improvement.

Made some Asian Turkey Meatballs tonite courtesy of a Men's Health recipe! Extra lean ground turkey, small minced red onion, garlic cloves, minced fresh ginger, lemongrass, jalapeno pepper, small amount of sugar, salt and pepper to taste. Rolled 'em into meatballs and used butter lettuce to turn them into wraps. Less than 280 calories for a serving :tu
Aww yeah! Already down 5 lbs.
These sound really good.

Down three this past week. So, I am now below my lowest weight since I kept track in my current ledger starting May 2006. Might make it below 300 by SH after all!
Congratulations, Hugh!!! :tu
Many more milestones to come, brother...

Back from Vegas and I was SCARED to hit the scale. Somehow I managed to not gain the 5lbs I intended!
Maintained @ 207 this morning which kept me at my total of 34lbs to date.
Now that I think about it...I ate shitty(but kept it to decent portions) walked a **** done and didnt eat as often as needed to. I figured the hundreds of calories consumed from the alcohol(scotch mainly) would have killed me but apparently not.
Interesting indeed.

Hugh, I just told Weeze how good you were doing and she's happy for you, too. Ya know, if you lose another 100 pounds, you're still gonna be one big sumb1tch. You're a big boy, period. You'd make an excellent outside linebacker at 220. :D

I have my weigh in tomorrow, but it's so hot here, all I want is ice cream!
I'm not sure if I want to eat it or just rub it on my nipples.
Either way I'm staying strong and not going to the store to get some.
If the scale is mean to me in the morning, I may just have a breakdown!

Got on the scale 259.2
The first time I've been below 260 in probably 8 yrs!
My Next goal is 250 by Labor day.
Someone asked me recently "how low do you want to get?"
Being realistic at the end I'm shooting for 230.
If and when I get there, I'll re evaluate my final weight and decide if I can go further.
I set my final (for now) long term goal at 230 by 1/1/12

I should also note that these shorts are getting quite loose and hard to keep up without a belt now. They'll probably slide off when I hit 210 again-which is something I can't even remember being since I've yo-yo'd so much the past 5+ years in the 220-240 range.

Good for you! My goal is 250 by next April for my annual physical. According to BMI charts I would still be considered "obese." A 6'2" guy at 160 is considered normal weight. Are u kidding me? He would be a beanpole! My doc said he'd be happy if I were 270. So, if I make 250 he'll probably be very pleased- as would I. It's not easy, but if it were there would be no fat people. And, it sure is nice to see that scale show lower and lower readings!

Had a bit of a rebound with the kids' b'day party followed by 2 days off, but I'm starting back down. I've gotten into the habit of doing an hour workout on my days off.
So what does everyone do for workouts? I started off with Wii Fit Plus, thinking it would be a good low impact workout. Now that I've dropped some weight, I think I'd like to up the intensity. I'm not ready for P90X or Insanity, but I'd like to get up more of a sweat than the WFP exercises can provide. Any ideas?

Made up for missing my workout yesterday. Did the cardio program and the ab ripper 100 (up to about 80 of the 100), then was still feeling energetic and did a 2.3mile run. I signed up for a 5K walk/run in October so I need to start training for that. Should be doable now. I think had I not worked out I could've done the whole 5k today.
Now lets see if this puts me back under 220. Been up a couple lbs this week. Not sure why either. Eating good, exercising. Could be putting on muscle? Who knows. We'll see come Saturday.

Walking is how I lost the bulk of my weight this year. If you can get up to or below a 15min/mile, you'll get a great workout in, plus sweat your a$$ off.
