Back from a weeks vacation. Enjoyed multiple bowls of Moontrace and Old Gowrie in a billiard shaped meer. Tonight, back home, it was some Boswell's Best in the same. Went to a B&M and managed to pick up some Stonehaven, Kendall Cream Flake, and 1792.

It's doing great for me so far, just starting to get a little broken in. I have been using it and then letting it rest for a couple of days. I love the bowl size and shape and I'm really happy with my choice.
I probably only smoke a bowl about every other day or so, so I can easily manage a rotation with my Grabow, MM and no-name to break the 999 in nice and slow. I'll get my Nording worked in there too as soon as I finish getting it cleaned up.

Picked up a new Peterson System Knock Off basket pipe from work, and I'm finishing off christening it with a bowl of my favorite, Peterson's Irish Oak. Aaaaand, another bowl od the Acadian Perique in the good ol cob. Broke in the new Eriksen I picked up at work with a bowl each of 09 Bayou Morning Flake, and 08 St. James Woods. Funny how the amount of perique and type of VAs used can completely change the flavors given off. I am a little under the weather with allergy sniffles but decided to pack a bowl right off the bat in a New Leoness straight pipe I had sitting around waiting to be used on a new tobacco. I did not cube cut it from the plug , in fact, I peeled off layers off a chunk and packed it in. It was tight, but the undescribable taste kept me puffing away stirring it from the hole so I can inhale it. At first I just kept puffing away not sure what to think. Do I like it or should I toss it. But a little after halfway when it really got easily smoking I said ahh this is nice. It is Like no Pipe tobacco I have ever tasted before. In fact I still don't know what to think of it but can't help but wonder if 2 oz will last me a year of grabbing from it here an there. Theres more SG products I want to try so it must last or just savor it awhile until I conclude what I really think of it after I smoke the 2 oz of it. But I do have a bowls worth I cubed cut sitting ready in a baby jar waiting for next time I am ready to try it out when my allergies aren't acting up.

Hey guys. Needed to take a bit of a break from cigars. Even morning sticks were starting to feel harsh to me.
So I decided to noodle around with a pipe and see how I liked it. I picked up an array of stuff from my local spot, and the woman recommended Dunhill 965, and a "London Blend" I think (don't have it in front of me.)
I also ordered two 3-tin samplers just to get out there a bit. But they're all really fruity to the nose. Haven't smoked them yet.
So far, I have to say the 965 is pretty nice. I'm hunting for something a little bit more...rich and perhaps spicy. (Trying to stay away from "peppery" as much as possible.)
I'll try the fruity ones over the next week or two (though I have to imagine they're going to flavor my pipe undesirably. Perhaps I should sample them in a little corncob? Thoughts?)
Accepting any and all recommendations.
I noticed that smoking a couple bowls a day really burns out my tongue. The geometry of the tip just concentrates the smoke down unless I let the pipe hang out of my mouth. Makes me wonder if I shouldn't pick up a Petersen or a chuchwarden or something.
