I wish I could tell ya. I got a PIF from Mack that included a mystery smoke. No label.
It was a robusto... started off mild with a little spice and it turned into a real popper! Draw was a little loose, but not in a bad way. I didn't want to put it down, but it stared to burn my fingers. The first and second third kept a good burn that got erratic towards the end.
I'd love to buy a fiver to put into rotation....

A Herrera Estili Norteno today. I love drew estate and the liga privada line. This stick is very similar in flavor and aroma. The flavors go back and forth between nutty, earthy, and vanilla. I'll be damned if I didn't get a whiff every now and then of vanilla as well. The kind you smell from vanilla pipe. I love this stick. Tons of depth, great flavors, and great construction.

Smoked a Guayacan by Noel Rojas. I liked it and went to look for it online....nothing lol.

I was pleasantly surprised. After taking the cello off, it smelled really strong (and not the kind of strong I like). The draw was a little loose (better than being a little tough, I guess).
The first third had only a little spice and was more reminiscent of a campfire (outdoors?) (je ne sais quoi...I don't have the words). I was glad that the flavor did not match the pre-light scent.
The second third was a train wreck. It required constant touch ups and there was ash everywhere. Pepper was more apparent. I started to dislike it, due to the attention that the stick needed.
At the halfway point though, everything settled down! I loved it. It required no more touch ups. The ash quit flaking on my shirt. Somehow it got sweeter and more spice on the retro. Very enjoyable down to the nub. I should have taken some pictures, 'cause all I got left is the nub and the band.
This toro was a commitment. I didn't look at a clock when I started, but I was on the porch for just about two hours. Except for the 10-ish minutes of touch ups and ashing everywhere, I loved it. And Like I said at the beginning, I didn't know if it was going to be my kind of thing or not. Maybe the stick I got was kind of wonky, but I'll certainly give this Thang another try.

Last night I smoked an Oliva V and a Mi Barrio robusto. The Mi Barrio was in cello so yellow that it was almost brown, so I imagine it had some age on it. It was very good. I'm not sure if recent ones are similar, but I need to find out. Very good smoke.

Dijit gave me this bad boy in the August lottery and pre-draw had me sneezing about four times which means it’s a peppery bastard and I’m in for a joy ride and this cigar rocks. Never heard of a Hoya de Flores but damn, I’m sold.

Smoked an Opus X XXX Belicoso yesterday that Tristan gifted me on Saturday. Best Opus I've smoked since the first few I had probably over 15 years ago. The distinctive black cherry tone was there for the first time in a long time. I'll definitely pick up another couple of these for when I want a change of pace.

Its been cooking in my humi for the a couple of months. Or it may have been one of the two I have left from a box a couple of years ago. One I have always enjoyed smoking.
