Enjoyed a Partagas Black Label this morning. Must admit, after 3 short months of indulging in this new form of relaxation my fondness for Connecticuts has shifted towards darker, fuller flavored, bolder sticks.

Davidoff Pyramides Yamasa. Great smoke that burns well, but really likes staying a but cool, so don't smoke the sh** out of it. Does not go out easily. Very nice change at about 1/3, the full flavour comes out and gets a bit more intense at 2/3. Leather, nutmeg, walnuts is what I taste.

Huge thanks to Scotty (Lockspur) for this cigar, looks like he isn't super active on here anymore but he sent it to me in a bomb a few years ago. It's so good, I'm contemplating my first box purchase. I can't put into words how great this cigar is, so many subtle flavor profile changes throughout.

Had my first Oliva Serie V Robusto (a.k.a the Double Robusto according to some sites) from my Oliva Serie V sampler earlier.

I guess 5 weeks of rest isn't enough for these as it was pretty ammonia-ish. I guess that's what I get for trying to take advantage of the still-ok weather and having a smoke outside earlier.. :(

For future reference, what is the right term for this stick as it's 5X54. Is it a Serie V Robusto or a double Robusto??

That Ortega was surprisingly good! Better then I remember as I had personally dropped them to a cigar I smoke as my second and maybe it's just that it's flavor profile was in contrast with the Tatoo so the sweetness was so prominent but I would say it's now one I have to smoke again as my first cigar!!

Not very many of them left though as Ortega didn't release any more batches of the Wild Bunch cigars other then a second release I believe. I enjoy quite a bit about five of those and this one was my least favorite but it's still quite good.

Boy that is a tough one as I've smoked only two Tatoos and I think I have one hidden away but if memory serves me correctly, the Tatoo was close to a Cubao meaning tart leather and earth flavorsand closer to the Full side of Med-Full.

The TAA Tatoo is less full with a smooth tart tangy earthiness over a brown label binder so earthiness, hint of cedar and pepper. The TAA is closer to the Medium side of a Med-full.

I would say these TAA cigars are starting to mellow now since ROTT so I'm probably going to smoke more until they are gone as age is starting to negatively effect them for myself but they are still very good and I have about six left.

Tonight it's a Padron 3000 Maduro and the pepper made me sneeze about 8 times so it's good!!!!

Had my first CAO Gold Maduro Robusto earlier.

'Twas very good and I may just need to order another CAO Gold sampler to figure out if I prefer the normal CAO Gold Robustos or their Maduro Gold Robustos....or both?? ;)

Side note: Because of a crappy cut I had some wrapper unravelling by the head of the cigar. So it gave me a perfect opportunity to break out this little guy that I had bought awhile back and try it for the first time.

Enjoyed a Nica Rustica at a new (to me) B&M in Minneapolis today. Great lounge only unfortunate thing was the prices were brutal even for our area.

Last night was a Fuente Opus X 6 1/4 x 48 and it burned really strangely. About 1/3 in the wrapper split about 3/3 of the way up and had a bump of tobacco looking like it was going to burst right out. At this point is was a little out of character taste wise.

I kept smoking though,and the breech did not get any worse. When I started to smoke through that section it was an amazing cigar for taste and fullness, yet still a medium strength. I was really enjoying that section and hoping the rest would be the same. When I got through that section it changed again to the regular O X cigar.

It was about 2yr old and humidor is at 71% and 68 deg so there should be no problem there. I really took my time smoking this one, it never got hot.
Anyone have any insight?

Last night, a Litto Diaz Sungrown Robusto 2009, by LFD.

The construction of this was a work of art. Once lit, I smoked it down to an inch without touch-up, and it probably had the most prominent ash colour differences in the layers than any other cigar I have smoked. Beautiful smooth and complex contrast between spice and sweet. Top marks for this.

AF Reserva Don Carlos Eye of the Shark. Nice flavor BUT a huge soft spot and hole in the wrapper. Not beetle. Smoke pours out if I don't pinch it tight. I thought the band was oddly placed. Now I know why. Pissed me off but then I remembered Santa is coming tonight. :noon

One of the new Viaje Exclusivo Toro (Nicaragua) that is differentiated from earlier years by adding blue tobacco leaves to the label. After Andre got "Raciened" as Dion put it, Andre pulled a fast one with PDR and used different tobacco which didn't taste at all like previous blends. Shame on Andre.

Now I have a few trust issues so this cigar came in a sampler pack so I could give it a test ride before buying a box. Assurances were made that this tobacco indeed comes from Casa Fernandez and Tropical Tobacco with even the name bearing assurances it's from Nicaragua and not PDR.

After smoking into this an inch, the tobacco is good and has that distinctive creamy wood, leather, black pepper with some sweet cinnamon. This is definitely a good cigar and ok, I will get a box damn it.

Edit- follow up information. This cigar has no affiliation with Raices but is now Casa Fernandez and AGANORSA which I am a fan boy of so it's no surprise that I like this "new" blend.

My first Warped cigar and it's a Hacienda corona which I picked up a year ago maybe in a sampler pack but just smoking it now as motivated by afranco.

This cigar is great if you are an AGANORSA fan boy like me. It's very similar to a Casa Fernandez Aganorsa Leaf cigar which is one of my favorites. It has that distinctive creamy start with flavors of cedar, cinnamon, pepper flavor with a long spicy cedar finish.
