Didn't smoke any today as it's way too cold and the propane heater won't keep up. But yesterday I smoked a nice Avo LE10 and a Davidoff Sir Winston Marrakesh. The Avo LE10 is probably my favorite cigar of all time. So far.

The Skull Breakers were a bit of a disappointment but it's my fault. Well, let's just say it's my ignorance. Normally I love the Skull Breakers but to my surprise, they tasted metallic and a bit too much on the espresso bitter side of things from my recollection and I attribute that to them being too humid.

That's why I smoked a second one the next night to see if it was just due to following the Montecristo and my palate being saturated already but the cigar was the same on the second night. They were a bit tight on the draw so too humid. These seem to be a Nicaraguan that will do better around the 65% range so I'm going to dry box for a week another and see if it improves.

I expect it will as right out of the box I smoked about 6 in a row and they were amazing with a nice charred wood flavor that I love but they were "dry" out of the box. I now say they were the correct humidity hahahah. So I've screwed them up but easy to correct.

So that's my honest assessment. They are amazing but don't get them too humid. Also, and this was a first. The one on Thursday night had a beetle hole under the band. I had to smoke it like a piccolo. This was a factory problem as the band had no beetle hole and to my knowledge, a beetle will eat through a band as easy as it will eat through a cigar and no hole in the band. I double checked to be sure.

Yesterday I had a Don Carlos 3 in the garage, the wife drove in, gave me a dirty look and went in the house without saying a word. I need warmer weather here, this below zero stuff is causing issues! 9 below yesterday, the garage is heated, I had no choice!

That's what I normally do as well - I also smoke in the hot tub but zero is too cold. I think I will get an exhaust fan installed in the garage for next year - I keep forgetting to do it over the summer. -(P

These cigars are absolutely fantastic. If you like Aganorsa Leaf (Illusione, Viaje, old Padilla), then these are a must. This is the farm that provides that tobacco and this is their main blend. It's probably one of my top 5 cigars consistently year after year.

I love the Casa Fernandez Miami Reserva in the toro size. Such a great cigar.

Tonight it's a Viaje Summerfest 2012 release which is basically a toro. This cigar is smoking amazing right now. Not many of these left and I suspect I may be down to none soon hah. I have maybe 20 left from various years and my opinion is they need at least a year to get where I like them and at 3.5 years this release is smoking!!!!

The Super Shot was great and imho they need a year of bench time. This one was about a year and a half old and the draw was great and the favors actually detectable. Fresh these overloaded my palate and they tasted a bit metallic. This one had that nice toasted corojo flavor that I enjoy. Actually this was the first Super Shot I have enjoyed and I blame it's age.

A Drew Estate Herrera Esteli right up until there was a 2x4 sticking out of the ash, this was the kind of thing you see in old frankenstein movies, you know the villagers carry them up to the castle.

Turns out it was the entire length of the cigar and there was no real tobacco on it, basically it was just a branch in the middle of the stick. $13 bucks well spent! :mad: Yes I sent them a nice email, oh and the fact that you have to register with their site to contact them was just the icing on the cake. mmmm cake...
