Yup, I got my box shipped for $140 I think.
So under $4/stick, for a good Lancero that is a good deal to me!

Love those serie V's and that sounds like a great deal. The only V lancero that I've smoked was pretty tough draw, but worth the effort.

For some reason, I don't like the Oliva V lancero blend, despite my strong appreciation for the other Serie V sizes (which are actually a different blend than the lancero). :sh

The other day I went out to give a quote on building this fellow a new shop, the old gent was already smoking a cigar at 8am. so naturly we had a second conversation and a smoke. He offered a congac to go with it but since i still had to work I had to decline. As I was leaving he had me waite a minute and went in the house and came out with a bundle of these and tossed them to me and said enjoy. Haaa! I love these type of customers.

I have burned a few and never had any draw or burn issues but I have heard of others having these troubles.

Love the lancero as well; have also heard others say had problems with construction/draw, but never had a similar problem myself as well. Think they are the best value in the Oliva Serie V; I keep the No4s stocked - although the best experience I've ever had with any Serie V vitola is with the figurado size.

Too spendy for me right now so close to Christmas, but awesome for him! I've never had a God of Fire, so I'm excited to try that. I will probably smoke it around Christmas.

Yes I went after the more medium smoke. He said the Don Carlos was more spicy. While I don't mind a bit of spicyness, I opted for the smoother smoke. At $19 I'm not completely willing to experiment with something I am unsure if I will enjoy lol :)

Are those Gisperts any good?
I have one I have been sitting on for a few months, not a huge fan of light wrappers though so I have just been moving it out of my way.

So far I'm impressed. They are mild but with a bit of a kick/spice to them. I usually smoke high-end medium-to-full bodies smokes, but these have been pretty good so far (I've had 4 of them).

they changed the bands on hemingways and don carloses this summer, the ones without the extra gold band either were made with some backstock of the old bands(doubtful as all hemingways rest for 6 months prior to release) or are last years release

Got the Toros, my first few I had were Churchills, and I wanted to stick to the longer cigar, so I went above Robusto, but didn't want the time commitment for the Churchill, Toro was a happy medium.

I'm with you Flounder, I like the Toro size best myself.

The hard part while you're buying online too is that like for me, upgrading from a box of robustos to toros was $4. And from toro to churchill was another $4, that's 20 inches of cigar for only $4 more. So the value is there to buy the bigger sticks, it's hard not to sometimes.

Damn Brooks, great find. I got that email in the evening, decided to sleep on a 5'er or a box, and when I went to go buy them the next morning they were gone! Oh well :)

The problem I have, especially now that winter is hear is the smoke time. A robusto is about all I can stand before I freeze.

Is there any other reason you like the toro, or just because of the bigger size?

Personally I like my toros as they feel the most comfortable in my hand and burn for the amount of time I like to smoke a single cigar(1-1.5 hours generally). I'm not a fan of puffing on a stick for 2+ hours like I end up with most churchills and double coronas, and the same can be said about smaller sticks like coronas where I only get an hour tops of smoking time. That said, some sizes just taste the best for the stick, generally for me toros do the trick, but some times other sizes will pop up as better(Tat Blacks are best as the PLs IMO, for instance)

I agree, however with is being winter like Jimmy said Ido prefer a Corona this time of year, but if I am in a heated environment a Toro or Churchill is just fine, but I prefer the Toros

Nice Kev, I guess that is the solution I need to smoking in the car.....haven't quite figured that out yet......too much maint and attention on the stick and not on the road
