It's not the worst game i've ever played, but it is kind of a letdown. The concept is awesome but the execution is poor. Needed more time to work out the kinks.

Yea, I like it. It is a strange mashup of things. Its like a hack and slash, RTS, and open world sandbox game all rolled up into one game. It works though, i've really enjoyed it so far. Jack Black is actually pretty funny in it and I usually don't like his work. If you like heavy metal it is a must buy, the sound track is epic and the cameos from guys like Lemmy and Ozzie are awesome.

I do have to say that the single-player story mode on Uncharted 2 is excellent! I had just been playing the multiplayer deathmatch for awhile but finally started the regular campaign mode and I can't be more pleased that I did.

The commercials are correct, sometimes its more like an interactive movie than a game :tu

I beat it in 2 sittings. 2 very LONG sittings :D

It was highly addictive and fantastic. A few scenes so well acted that I had to remember to breath because I was holding my breath in suspense and nervousness.

well every store in my city ( and Surrounding city's) are all sold out of Borderlands.. so i ordered it online, now all i can do is Smoke, Drink, and be Merry ( and Play Call of Duty 4 if anyone is down :banger )

I picked it up last Thursday-I am just playing the solo game-lots of fun. The story line isn't as tight as fallout 3 fun the action is fun.

I'm liking Borderlands a lot so far. I don't really think it's like Diablo, it's a hybrid shooter game. Same premise as Fallout, hardly any story that I can make out (go here, talk to so and so, kill such and such, level up). Very addicting though, i've already grinded my way up to level 23 and i've only had it a few days. I'm playing as Brick, I like going nuts and punching the crap out of people :r

I'm level 21 hunter and just drove into New Haven. I heard that there is a level 50 cap, but I don't know how much of the game is left. One of the missions has a glitch in it-the revolver parts-I found all but one. I go to where the waypoint is and I have stood right on the spot but there is nothing there.

I got that revolver. The last piece is in the burnt out car in front of the place the marker is. Drove me nuts too.

Very similar to Fallout and just as addictive. No plot, but lots of funny lines.

Rented, and have been playing Way of the Samurai recently just waiting for MW2 and AC2 to come out in a week or so.

Its kind of a meh game, but I love Samurai games :)

Been playing Borderlands for the PC with friends. Got up to level 18 with a Soldier. One friend plays as a Siren, and the other two play as Hunters. Been having fun playing it, but the first night trying to get multi-player to work was such a PITA. Far too many headaches trying to find the right ports to forward on the router for the game host. But now that we got it working, things are clicking along well.

Anybody else playing the PC version of Borderlands?

There are a few times where I wish it was 3rd person... would actually be pretty fun to play it that way (everything is over-the-shoulder except when you zoom in).

No, i'm still slowly powering my way through Demon's Souls. I prob won't pick up another rpg until Mass Effect 2, maybe by then i'll have beaten DS. That game is a beast with the difficulty. But in a good way.

I'm probably not gonna get L4D2, the first one was alright but I didn't love it. Two seems like more of the same to me. I honestly had much more fun with the CoD zombie maps. I even liked Killing Floor better :r

Back to Borderlands until Modern Warfare comes out. Then Assassins Creed after that along with the new SMB game a new RE game after that. And I still haven't had time for Tropico 3. This months is nuts with releases.

Having fun with Assasin's Creed II-it is different than the first game. I don't know why they changed it. The first one was awesome. So far the action takes place in 1400 Florence and there is more color to the graphics. Game play is the same, but less fighting and more puzzles to figure out. And I miss the flags! Way too many cut scenes but a lot of playing time, unlike solo CODMWII.

Wow, guess I'm old school. We have a PS2 and Wii. Back in my PC gaming days I was heavily into FPS, Doom, Quake, Half-life. Now I'm more into games requiring a little more thought.
PS2:
Gave up on TW PGA Tour when they dropped Feherty and McCord.
Love Madden, but refuse to play 2010 with the Anti-Christ as the QB for my Vikings. I know I could change the roster, but I like to play using the actual roster for the current season.
The SOCOM series is one of my favorites on the PS2. FPS elements, but on a lot of missions, you can't just blast everything.
The wife and I had a lot of fun with Gladius. It's a good mix of RPG and turn-based arena combat.
Champions: Return to Arms was fun, but suffered from occasional lockups.
Hot Shots Golf Fore is fun, but frustrating playing the higher level NPCs.
GH 3, Aerosmith, and Metallica are great. I suck, but I'll play until my hands start cramping.

Wii:
We haven't bought a lot of games, as they're more expensive, but Wii Sports is a lot of fun, as well as Deca Sports I & II, although I detest Curling and Petanque :rolleyes:

Any suggestions? Might be open to trades for smokes if any of you on PS3 are looking to offload some PS2 games, too.

Yep, both great games. Borderlands i've had a ton of fun with and will probably pick up the DLC after the holiday season. And the New Super Mario Wii game is fantastic, excellent gameplay and fun multiplayer.

I'm getting close to the end of Assasin's Creed 2. This is a huge game. I am trying to get all the extra goodies done before the end, but I can't find more than half of the feathers. It has been an interesting story line but I have a feeling there will be no end to set uo AC 3.

I finished it, there will be :tu It is a massive game, I took my time with it, prob a good 40 hours total to finish. Really awesome though, I like the fact you can freeplay when it's done to go back and do the things you might have skipped or missed.

You need to collect 50 feathers for the last weapon and 100 feathers for the Auditore cape. And that last tomb was tough, took me a few tries. There is a neat easter egg in that last tomb, if push the switch and look into the water for a moment a giant squid shows up :r

You need to collect 50 feathers for the last weapon and 100 feathers for the Auditore cape. And that last tomb was tough, took me a few tries. There is a neat easter egg in that last tomb, if push the switch and look into the water for a moment a giant squid shows up :r

If you ever get out to california I will let you get that last seal for me. Tomorrow I will look for more feathers and finish off the assasin contracts. Those are fun.

An easy way to find feather is to find a high spot and switch on the eagle vision. They have a gold blur, makes it easier to find.

Can anyone recommend a good RPG for PC other than WoW? I dont really want an MMORPG, just more of an excellent RPG in and of itself...

Mass Effect, from Bioware. Sci-fi RPG, but without a doubt the best RPG I've ever played, hands down. And I've been playing RPGs for years. I've gone through the game 3x now, playing 3 different characters. About 40-50 hrs game time each run through. Each was a different experience. Awesome game, and relatively cheap now since it's over a year old.

DragonAge: Origins is out now, also from Bioware. Supposed to be even better than Mass Effect, but the system requirements are too high for me right now. :(

My vidcard (GeForce 8600GT 256MB) & RAM (3GB) should be good, it's my processor: DragonAge says it needs dual core, and all I got is Athlon64 3400+. :( From what I've read, ME2 is on the same engine as ME, right? I'm hoping that's the case...!

There is a demo available for Dante's Inferno on both xbox and ps3.. I was on the fence too, but after giving the demo a go I was sold. Plus it's made by the same studio that did Dead Space, doubt it will turn out bad.

I WAS playing it until my Mac's HD went out on me. I didn't have the Windows partition backed up and there went my progress. I finished the game and did plenty of side quests with a level 40+ Hunter. When I get another copy of windows maybe we can get in a match?

I have seen this exact same post on a couple of different forums now. It's likely a retailer exclusive, but since you didn't mention which PoP you have it's kinda hard to narrow down. I have seen limited runs on the the second one and the PSP version, but none of the latest cell shaded suckfest or the original.

I didn't like the demo when I tried it. Liked having the vehicles, but it took me 3 damn shots for a sniper kill and didn't like the other guns either really.

Headshot is a one hit kill, chest takes two normally. Pretty balanced given the size of the maps and the fact that all the noobs play recon.

Happens to me all the time. I notice I go through spurts of gaming, and then my machines collect dust for a while.

I can't get into games in the spring/summer as well as I do in the winter months. When it's nice out and I can go fishing, I'll take that over gaming anyday. :D

Too late for my blood! East Coaster here, plus MW2 has gotten a little repetitive to me, even with the map packs. Anytime you play a map it is the same as the last time you played it. People go to the same places through the same routes and the maps IMO don't allow for much variety in that.

I'm a big fan of making it my own little game. I vary up my routine and try and "hunt" down as many enemy players as I can. It absolutely sucks for my kill/death ratio but I don't really care about that. I just have fun trying to outwit other players and die the least amount of times as possible. I'm not that great at the game but damn I have a good time.

What is really fun is when I'm sometimes surprised by someone who varies their routine as well and you see something totally new and unexpected. I can see how it could get boring for some though. Run and gun seems to be the MO of the hour.

Picked up Fallout New Vegas at midnight on Monday. Have played a few hours so far and enjoy it a lot!

I used to play Borderlands a ton as well, but on the PC, not the 360. I'm excited about the new DLC that's coming! :noon

I want to play new vegas so badly. Fallout 3 was my fantastic game. If new vegas is even HALF as good, it will be awesome.

The new Castlevania is pretty sweet. I'm sure it's going to get lost im the sea of great releases but if your a fan of action/platform type games give it a try. Some awesome boss fights :tu

Dead Rising 2!

UGH That game is EPIC frustrating. No direction, stupid time limits on everything. I gave up, you can't even have fun. Constant searching for zombrex which is all HIDDEN god why??

Game gave me a headache.

EDIT also saving in that game....MY GOD you start 30 minutes - 1 hour back.....AWFUL.

Just kill things. grab a shotgun, broad sword/axe, and a few combo items and kill things. enjoy.

i've got my eye on the new civilization v. i'm a civ junkie, can't seem to get enough of that game. i love it because you can customize it to be a short game, or make it last for hours and hours and each time you play it the game is different. highly recommend it for folks who like games like simcity mixed with risk.

If you open your watch and select a quest it will arrow you towards your objective. And if you can't find zombrex you can just buy it at the pawn shop.
The bigger question is why worry, the story sucks, it's all about mindlessly killing zombies in fun and creative ways. The moment I duck taped a pitchfork to a shotgun I knew the game was going to be absolutely absurd.

I'm avoiding buying this game. I think I need to get a new laptop and then this game can maybe start happening on the train. The original is why I started gaming in the first place, and it's a slippery slope, not dissimilar to some other slopes you may be familiar with.

I must admit that I chuckled a little seeing your comparison to simcity. simcity is multiple orders of magnitude below Civ in terms of complexity. It's like comparing reading a single day of a newspaper comic strip to reading the Lord of the Rings.

Well, I renewed WoW. It is a hell of a lot of fun, and I set the parental controls on my own account to only let me play for 3 hours in any given day. Sometimes I need help managing myself :D

I just tried playing assassins creed the first one. My god this game is stupid and annoying. I hear the second one is better but I want to hear the story behind the first one.

Beat dead rising 2, darksiders and CoD Black Ops. What is the deal lately with games that annoy the piss out of you intentionally? I just want a good story line that moves you through the game, not to be confused/messed with for 15 hours of gameplay.

Black Ops - 5 hours of campaign play.....disappointed, liked MW2 much better. Stupid flashy strobe is headache heaven.
Darksiders - 16 hours of nonstop puzzles and annoyance. The last 2 bosses were give mes.
Dead Rising 2 - 14 hours of way too many zombies that spawn out of nowhere. Piss poor AI and time limits (the most annoying conceivable thing possible to put in a game)

I find most games are easily beatable and offer VERY little playing time. 5-15 hours is unacceptable.
