Smoked my first MUWAT today. It was so-so. Wrapper cracked a bit while smoking, but it's cool and dry here, so that's the way it goes...

I have had a few of these... I had a larger vitola that knocked my socks off... it had nice pepper notes, then bought a 5er of a smaller vitola... was still a good stick but seemed a little less peppery and lighter then the first...

Its been forever and a minute since I last posted in here. Today was a slow day for me, just an EPC Cardinal 54 Natural and a Padilla Reserva Natural. Oliva did a great job with the new Padillas. The EPC was still real wet so it didn't want to burn, but the flavors bordered on offputting for me, spicy in a bad way, much like a fresh Opus' spice.

Been wanting to get my hands on some of these new Padilla's and compare them to the old ones I already have in my humi... I have 1 of nearly all of their blends aging as we speak... do you know if they make a sampler of the new ones or if they are only by the box so far?

The new ones are going to be B&M exclusives, you won't find them online. They've also since discontinued most, if not all, of their previous blends. The two Reserva lines(Natural/Habano and Maduro), Invictus, and a tweak of the Miami blend are all B&M only blends. All distributed by Oliva, but the Invictus and new Miami are being made by El Titan de Bronze, the Reservas by Oliva. There's also a fifth line being introduced as a Euro exclusive, made by Oliva as well.

Braved the cold for an Aging Room SB F55 tonight and boy am I glad I did. Might be the best cigar I've smoked this year. Started of spicy, then mellowed out into a wonderful leathery, nutty cigar with an ash that just refused to fall off.

First blast of spice, then more of a woodsy leather flavor.

5 Vegas Gold torpedo in the early afternoon.
RP Royal Vintage torpedo this evening, but about 1/2" in it started getting a bunch of tar coming out (1st time that's happened with one of these for me.) I ended up tossing it and firing up a PDR Selection Reserva Limitada robusto.

La Tribu Gran Toro. Not bad but I like the flavor in the robusto better. Not helping it is the fact that the draw is tight and about 1/3 in the wrapper exploded.

2x Famous Nic Maduro Churchills(solid smokes, good for zoning out while working/driving for me)
2x Famous Nic 5k Churchills(first one was plugged somethin fierce, but I could tell the flavor was there, threw it up to them being wet ROTT, second one completely blew me away, I'll be grabbing a few bundles after Christmas to age, as I can tell they'll be better with it, but this one probably won't make it to Christmas :r)
Oliva Inferno Toro(another solid stick from Oliva)

Anyone know who makes the Nic Maddies? I'm 95% sure its Oliva simply based on the packaging(I've opened so many Oliva bundles at work I'd recognize their bundle packaging anywhere)

A real nice Cabaiguan Guapos RX Natural - my very first Tatuaje ever, and it was quite tasty! Paired it with some Jack Daniels No. 7 on the Rocks and some good company - my wife. Very relaxing couple of hours.

La Herencia CORE robusto
Scored a 5'er for 15 on the devil's site. CI has them going @ 10 apiece in their 5'ers.

ROTT review: being December I was a bit reluctant to smoke one right off the doorstep but let's be honest here, I was excited to try this.

Construction felt nice and solid. It's labeled as a 5x52 but the light box pressing makes it feel more like a 48-50RG.

Initial flavors were a bit harsh, especially on the retrohale but again, this hasn't had a chance to rest after it's travels. In the flavor dept, it has a nice deep tobacco undertone, lot's of leather and some earth. I love smokes with this kind of richness.
The burn did run a bit at first but it corrected itself quickly without a touch-up.

2/3 is where it get's really good! There is still a lot of flavor going on but it's easier to disect compared to at first. I'd say the strength lies in the med-full range.

Still slowly enjoying my second third of this so I can't comment on the finish yet. I do look forward to revisiting this after they take a snooze for a while in my box.

Park Avenue Series 44 Connecticut Torpedo. These have aged nicely in the two years they've been in the humidor. Smooth & tasty. Quite the afternoon smoke paired with a cup of black coffee while watching the wildlife in the yard. A good sized hawk in my yet-to-be-burned pile looking for a meal, a squirrel or two in the nearby oak trees, and a plethora of other birds in the surrounding trees. Paradise!

I was shocked there wasn't a review done on this cigar, and I didn't prepare to do one myself...but it really was a great cigar. Much better than the other two I smoked many months ago. The CAO Black Bengal, traded to me from Ciro. Awesome burn, slight pepper without overbearing notes. Pretty nice for a Midnight smoke sporting a short-sleeve shirt w/ slacks in 50° weather.
