umm the label only had Gran Reserva on it. it was roughly bout 7" in length and had a green wrapper on the foot of the cigar. if that helps.

next time i visit the shop i'll see if they have the Fuente 858.

I am trying to see which ones go well with scotch at the moment. lol

i have a bottle of Grants 12 year and a bottle of Glen Fiddich 12 year that i like to drink.

That sounds like a Churchill. The green banded ones generally use the same blend, but are in different sizes. The ones with the black bands, like the Fuente Don Carlos and the Fuente Hemingway, are a different blend. Now here's where it gets complicated. You will find the ones with the black ribbon at the foot. Those are the sungrown wrapper, and are pretty spicy in flavor, but IMO very good. Red ribbon at the foot like the Fuente Fuente OpusX, and some rosado wrapper selections like the hard to find rosado 858 and rosado Hemingway, are top shelf cigars, but if you try an OpusX for the first time, make sure you eat a full meal before you smoke it, because those babies are full bodied and strong.

Fuente is one of my favorite non-Cuban brands, and they make a lot of cigars. Getting to know which one is which can be confusing!

Sounds like it needed a little more time. Most of the Toraños I've smoked were like that. After a month or so in the box, they were perfect.

Kevin...based on your picture, this has to be a 2010 or earlier. 2011 was the first year they started producing this stick in a 6X50 toro size. Not a fan of the 2010 myself...but the 2011 & 2012 :dr :dr The 2008s were fantastic as well.

Sounds like it needed a little more time. Most of the Toraños I've smoked were like that. After a month or so in the box, they were perfect.

It's a darned good stick. Well built, very meaty tasting. And like I said, in high humidity...my darker sticks tend to tunnel...this one was perfect...no touching up required.

Quorum Robusto is what i had tonight. I was recommended to try it by the guy at my local shop who said it was an "everyday smoke that was quite enjoyable"

i found it to be a bit on the spicy side but overall a decent smoke, may have to try it again another time.

I'm about halfway through it now. It's a very rich smelling smoke, but the smoke output is very low right now. I'm enjoying it, I'd like to find a few more before I cast judgement

Very nice day! I miss the all day herfs. Have a Liga Dirty Rat, FFP and Fuente Anjeo Shark from Lockspur I am dying to get into but the enviorment just has not been right to truly enjoy and I guess you would say be a little more analytical about them sans the FFP as I have had lots of them in my life. I think the Liga Privada FFP has got to be my favorite smoke right now along with the Undercrown Corona Viva! I want to try a MUWAT Bait Fish but have a hard time shelling out (I know it sounds so stupid but its just me) another $1.25 on one vs a UCV as I had the bigger RG MUWAT and did not think much of it. Holy crap, sorry lol, kinda thread jacked you there.

Man, have not had an EP in ages. I really am looking forward to that new one he just put out, thing is damn near pitch black.

Thoughts on the 2013 TAA DP LFD? I was not that impressed. I think with more rest they would be better though. Nice to know about the Cromos. Out of sheer curiosity, what is the avg price point on those if you know.

I thought the LFD 2013 TAA Double Press Maduro was very impressive...especially for being ROTT. :2

Price point on the RoMa Craft Cromagnons?? My favorite is the Anthropolgy (corona)..and they are about $ 182.00 for a box of 24. I smoked one and hunted down a box...plus a few 5ers. Smoked through half the box real quick.

BTW if anyone is curious exchanged eMails with J.Drew as we have an event here in MN in 10 days and he stated that there will be no Velvet Rat production for a long time. So if you want and can get your hands on some now would be a good time!

Yesterday was a huge festival in St. Paul, MN called Grand Old days where I got a few sticks in that were awesome along with the fact that summer is finally here in MN and you know what that means, ladies, ladies, ladies in scantily clad wear. Schwing!
