Great friggin' stick man. I honestly don't remember where and when I got this one from but the cello was a nice amber color when I took the cigar out. I'm smoking the bellicoso now and it's gonna be a nub for sure. Next time I swing by the B&M I'm grabbing a few different sizes.

Eli hooked me up with a couple of these, I'm letting them sit and mellow in their cedar home...for now!


And my smoke today was a Tatuaje La Casita Corolla. Very nice.

Another Viaje 50/50 Black Churchill size. These have mellowed quite a bit with two years of aging so in the medium range and more of a sweet wood flavor coming out. I figure I will smoke these pretty hard over the next few weeks as it's past time. I find the toro size to be better and hold up to aging but the Churchills not so much. If your holding onto 2011 Viaje 50/50 black Churchills I recommend you get busy smoking them and that is my two cents.

How was it? It's a solid stick bud. It's a bold sucker that deserves respect, considering it is a triple maduro. It has your typical maduro spice (pepper) with some pronounced earthy tones, wood, and of course chocolate with hint of coffee in the mix. However, don't listen to me. I know, I know, lol.

I'm wrapping up the first 1/3 now and so far this one has been better than the corona, but it's still not knock my socks off good. Smokes like a brush fire and the burn has been pretty good (needed one touch up) but the flavors really aren't wowing me. A very earthy tobacco core with a pepper wash on the finish, but not much else. Hopefully there's a good transition in the 2/3.

I thought the Drew Estate MUWAT Baitfish I had was the same way. Like a kick in the teeth, and very harsh throughout.

A few folks here including me really love A.J. Fernandez's stuff. There's a general consensus that resting his cigars for at least a few months helps smooth them out a bit.
