Finally tried the Kristoff Maduro. I enjoyed this stick... But it was oddly salty. Like a fresh sea-salt salty. The taste was subtle and present in the smoke... but it was especially present on my lips. It was present for the entirety of the cigar. I've never ever had a cigar that had a salty flavor. This was a first. I think if the cocoa flavor was a bit thicker and stronger than this stick would be out of this world and original. I mean, chocolatey and salty??? That would be a real winner!

Smoked a Kristoff Criollo rubusto last night... I'm beginning to think that salty is a signature flavor from them lol. It was quite good. Mellow honey, nuts, and salt. Can't wait for the Criollo Ligero. It should be stronger and a bit more full.

...BTW it too had the same burn issue as the Kristoff Maduro. I wonder why that is...?

Several weeks. 65%. I've read numerous reviews and all said the same thing about the burn wavering all over the place with the Kristoffs. And some let them rest many months before smoking. Gotta be something with the wrapper.

My favorite sticks. Famous carries them, and they occasionally pop up on Cigar Auctioneer. I scored a box of Matadors a while back for ~$120.
I had a Victor Sinclair Series 55 Cameroon on the course this morning. Nice flavors, but I think I'm done with VS once I smoke through what I have. I'm tired of tearing the wrapper every single f**king time because some moron got happy with the glue on the band.

Taboo HSG corona. Very interesting cigar... Not very complex... but the flavor was interesting in that it had a solid spice (not pepper) mixed with a bitterish flavor (not a bad bitter) combined with toasted wood and nut all at the same time. Never tasted anything like it.... Wish I could better describe what I was tasting. It was so familiar but I just couldn't put my finger on it.

New Orleans have this little neat cigar factory near the french quarter. Smoke their inhouse stuff, it was pretty solid for $6. A nice oily maduro wrapper, and decent construction. Plenty of flavors, but it got real boring on the last third. Then smoke an Oliva V belisco with a buddy of mine to end the night. I'm looking forward to this Thursday night game.
