Nothing wrong with 59% RH when storing cubans! Those bastards need a little dryer air most of the time.

Well I've been gearing up for the warm weather.

Here is my desktop, keeps the on-hand smokes and randoms, "top shelf" on the right.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4043/4421013367_320c13675a_b.jpg

Here's the cooler nestled away in my closet, as you can see I've got plenty of room left after a recent game of tetris. Have a box of robustos on the way, I figure I can squeeze that and maybe 3 to 5 more cabs in there once I smoke through the last 5 maximus in that box or move them to my desktop.

They are doubles, all cedar with glass lids

I stuffed one of them with a bunch of various sticks, and I would say each double drawer can fit at least 80 sticks comfortably.

I was at Lowes today with my fam, and decided to bite the bullet and get a Wine Fridge. The consensus was that this one was the nicest looking, and should be the right size. It's a Harier 18 bottle thermoelectric, kinda tall and skinny, and even has a cool little light! Damn I'm like a kid on Christmas here lol Gonna order some beads in a few to keep humidity, but with just some cups of water its already up to 55% after only an hour or so. Looking forward to filling this baby and aging some CCs :D

The one with the CC's is my aging / top shelf humi. The other is for singles and trades. They all work well. However, keeping them humidified in the winter is hell. I have to put a shot glass with water just to keep them at 65%. Summer is coming so they should be 70% easily without the extra help.

AJ, nice pick up!

Some thoughts

1. Buy more beads than you think, you can never have too many, I have 3 lbs in my Vino 28 ct for example and its perfect

2. Seasoning an empty winefridge will do nothing as the moisture will have nothing to cling to, put some cigar boxes or cedar wood in there to hold the RH%

Again nice humidor and have fun with it

This is the newst addition to the family: the pienza tower humidor. Just finished seasoning and stocking it up. I was on the fence about spending the money on it, and the fiance pushed me over the edge. Not sure if she really wanted me to get it or was just sick of hearing about me wanting it, but either way shes the shiznit. I also wonder if she realizes that it holds 2000-3000 cigars and i now have the urge to fill it up some more. :r

Waiting on trays n shelves is why I have a conventional humi inside it.

The top one I got today as my nieghbor was throwing it away. It looked like it was never used (it still had tape holding the shelves inplace!) He claimed he was gifted it, but already had a larger one, and it made a noise.... I took it home, cleaned it up, and plugged it in. The reason it made a noise was it was unlevel!! I leveled the feet and now have a box humidor. Ordering some beads when I get paid.....

Sitting pretty at 65 Rh and 22C so I'm gradually putting more boxes in and watching how it responds. So far, so good...

I'm thinking they are the barrel-aged from JR Cigars (http://www.jrcigars.com/index.cfm?page=itemDetails&itemcode=SLRHH&/CASK AGED BARRELS-SAINT LUIS REY RESERVA ESPECIAL .html). JR put a few different cigars in tiny barrels.

No kidding. I browsed through a few pages and some of you guys have some serious humidors. It would be nice to have at least two more of these. I want to have a few humidors to age some cigars, and some for regular smokes. Why couldn't I have picked a cheaper hobby to start???

If you watch Cbid, you can get into some decent humidors for 75-100, you can get into the towers for about 650-750 shipped. Check it out. There are a couple towers up there right now that are still pretty low in the bidding. Look at the humidors too, they have some really nice ones up there right now under the merchandise tab. :tu

After going crazy with anticipation, my Chasden drawers and shelves finally came. I have to say, these things truly exceeded even the greatest expectations I had. The attention to detail is amazing. My humidor finally looks organized!

Any my favorite drawer in it now. All my 601 blue's and DPG Blue's. Should I keep the rest of it color coded as well?!

J - that thing is awesome! And the Blue drawer is a nice touch.

The drawer configuration is almost exactly what I've ordered from Chas and seeing yours makes the wait even harder. I know what you mean by "finally being organized." Mine are all just sitting on top of each other, piled up as best possible. Functional but visually unappealing...

Current humi doesn't compare with most here, but it's my modest little slice of heaven until I get my cabinet built. :D

It's advertised as a 100 count, but I think it's closer to ~70.

Of course I won't be able to leave the cabinet empty for long, and then I'll end up needing to build another, and another, etc... Slip & Slide!

Looks great to me. :banger

Yeah... unfortunately, if I did THAT, my GF would KILL me.... a thousand times over! She doesn't mind cigars, or me smoking them. She just minds the impact it has on my funds. ^_^

Especially because our 3 year anniversary is on June 9, and we have quite a day planned!

Anyway, a small humidor keeps me restricted for now. That's what I want. I would like to fill a coolidor though... It'll just have to wait. :ss

Evaporation from the wine or cigars? I don't see the problem as long as he is maintaining his humidity.

I hear what you're saying and agree they can affect each other, however, the size of my humi and the turnaround time on bottles doesn't cause me concern. It's an air conditioned humi which allows me to safely store a few bottles at home rather than have to go to the cellar to get them. As you can see I'll store bags of coffee in there too, no biggie.

My biggest concern is letting guys in there who stink like cheap cologne :)

Well, it only took 2 months to fill the Cabinet, on to bigger and better. Got this from our brother at Cheap Humidors. Great seal, I put in some lighting and hooked up my humidifiers. She is holding at 65 on the middle and bottom and 67 at the top. All at 68 degrees on temp.
Now comes the fun part, I really hope that it doesn't fill up so quickly, (wait that's my fault!!).

The next step is to build a walk in humidor in my recording studio, big enough to put guitars in that need humidity control and I figure I might as well go big daddy on cigar storage. Since I haven't done anything like that before, I will do a whole thread on it from start to finish but I think it will be a while before that happens. I am going to try to enjoy this one for a bit, blow some money on sticks, and then start the walk in project. I figure I will probably drag it out for a good year building it!!!

There are lots of opportunities to pick up a sizeable collection at a fraction of what you might think the cost should be if you frequent the board and keep your eyes peeled. Post reviews of what you like to smoke so people can recommend sticks for you at a good price point. Visit Herfs! People are more than willing to help push you down the slope especially if you meet them in person.

That would be very cool. I just used some velcro and some battery op led strips. I would like to get some spanish cedar and build a couple shrouds for the fans that I mounted, make it look a bit nicer. I would also like to build hider boxes or something for both of the humicares that I have in there. I have a big one in the top and a small one in the bottom. I do like the fact that you can daisy chain them together only needing one power source.

The led strips are a very good idea by the way!! If you do that, let me know what you decide and how you did it. The light strips sure would take up less room in the long run. :tu

Picked it up at Target cheap when my humi died on me. It was on clearance, and I think I only paid like $15 for it. More than enough space for what I have in it. And as I said, been working well for me, Brian. It should be good over there, too. Thank you for your service, and come home safe!

wait a sec ..... it says stash being well maintained so you still have these right?

I have a couple guess why he still might have them :r
That humi is maintained because I don't believe in letting good cigars go to waste. There was a time (a little over a year ago) that ACID's were my preferred smokes, and I spent a lot of money obtaining as many as possible for the best prices I could find available. I have a friend who still smokes them from time to time, and I've heard that some of the troops like em as well. So I maintain them for them. I tried smoking one a few months back, and they're just not for me anymore.
I have an identical 100 count humi to the one above that I use for overflow primarily...but this is where I basically keep everything.

Well you nailed both my guesses on the head! I figured you either a) didn't smoke them anymore and just couldn't bring yourself to get rid of cigars you spent good money on or b) you still had them around for friends who like them

They're full to the point of having to be careful not to damage the contents when opening and closing them. But it's all dog rockets... ;)

sh*t, you got that right. Nicely done. Some of those smokes I don't even have now, and I am two years in (although I still consider myself to be a newb).
