I'm trying to avoid buying another humidor as the 50ct helps limit me. I've smoked a few obviously but that thing was packed to the lid.

Finally got the coolidor totally the way I want it (except the low inventory part). The humidity is so low because I just got done installing the fan.

Does/Will the fan help a lot in a compartment like that?

Curious.

colinb913
01-12-2012, 09:55 PM
From what I read it helps to keep the air moving around, and prevents pockets of high/low humidity. My hygrometer on the bottom reads 70% (usually) and the top one reads 51% (usually) so we shall find out tomorrow morning.

CigarSquid

I have beads in the bottom of mine, with a humi care gel deal.. I guess in the middle-ish. My hygrometer sits in a top tray and reads..... Right now, is at 70%

I was going to take a picture of mine, but I'm willing to bet it's got a place among the least impressive humis or collections you've seen.

Still smoking off the 25 bundle that Thompson threw in with my humidor.

Down to like 10 now.

Eric, What do you label on them?

On the CC's, The date from the box if I know it or it's given to me.

I also label gifted cigars assuming I remember to label them. Gifted as in bombs, MAW/PIF and Secret Santa.

Sometimes I forget and just throw them in and a few weeks later when I smoke it I can't remember who gave it to me. It's due to C.R.S. which happens when you grow to be a FOG!!! :tu

I posted a thread yesterday in RE: to my walk in I said this is my favorite room in the house, and it was the reason my wife Divorced me. Look through the threads if you want the full story of this walk in, I'm pretty sure I'm one of a few crazy C'GAR smokers that went this far to keep his C'GARS fresh and close to me.

Not many new additions, but I built a singles cubby to make the most use of one shelf's space. Used leftover mahognay and only carpenters glue. Not heirloom furniture by any means, but not bad for a guy with little patience and a circular saw.

I've been smoking cigars now for over 37 years and never had a complaint yet.

But to put it plain and simple "they're my cigars and thats where I keep them".

I apologize for trying to help. I didn't know infused (To the power that acid's are) existed over 37 years ago? and you started smoking (and mixing infused/traditional) hand rolled premium cigars when you were 13 years old? impressive.

Whatever? My great nieces say that too.....

Maybe people should just take things as face value instead of putting their .02¢ in.

Never said they did, but flavored cigars have been around a long long time. And keeping them in different trays has never caused a problem for me.
Like I said ""they're my cigars and thats where I keep them".

Yes I had my first "hand rolled" cigars when I was 13. We were rewarded well for our hard work a few times a year.

If they have worked for 37 years, then by all means, keep going. "Don't fix it if it ain't broke, right?

No problems. And your right.

;)

Too true and to prove your point, I've been on the web since just before its existence when we were hacking baud modems into Coleco's to chat with our wives who were at home when we were on the road. Of course back in those days the last thing you wanted to do was make a long distance phone call from a hotel.

You did. ;)

Hey Eddie, how are those Black Market cigars? I had a couple in my hands yesterday, but decided not to pull the trigger.

There not bad, I've smoked a dozen of them and so far I like the Torpedo the best. Pretty creamy smoke with some spice. But I still don't think they're good enough to be box worthy tho. And I think they're overpriced. just my .02¢

But I like to keep some on hand for "those days". ;)

I've been meaning to post pics of a really nice humidor I won in a raffle drawing last fall and I've finally gotten around to it. My wife and I attended a cigar event at Sidtrack Tobacco ( Home Page (http://sidetracktobacco.com/home) or Event Page (http://sidetracktobacco.com/cigar_event_just_blowin_smoke) ) in Bristol, VA. Everything about it was great; the BBQ, the live music, the cool weather, the excellent people! The family that owns and runs this shop have always been great to us. And of course winning this humidor in a raffle was a nice cap to the evening.

I hadn't smoked a Buena Vista cigar before the event but the two I smoked that night were pleasant enough. I was told this humidor was a bit expensive and maybe a limited edition but I haven't found anything online about it. There is a badge mounted inside the lid that says "083 200" so I suppose that's the number of the humidor, 83 of 200. Anyone seen one of these before? I rough-guess it to be about a 75 count since one section (movable dividers, not fixed in place) holds a full 25 count box of those 5 Vegas classic coronas. Anyway, on with the pics.

When I get home today, I will place a hygrometer inside one of my cigar boxes and see what % of diference there is between the inside of the cabinet and the inside of the closed box.

It will be interesting to see if there is any diference whatsoever. :sh

Update** After a week or so I have noticed that the hygrometers are indicating a 1% higher humidity level inside of the closed boxes in contrast to the inside the cabinet humity %.

Hope that helps some...

(Ok, technically, the last one isn't humidors. But they are all full of cigars - except tote on bottom of right stack; it holds my pipe tobacco and the flavored cigars I have)

Just saw this... It.. Is... Awesome! And to think I get grief over a small tub in the closet...

Ok I'll jump in just like jumping in on the sticks to start with .. head first!

Only in for a month started with the generic box on the bottom then bought myself the black DM for ...for me, I'm not married I don't need a reason. :noon

The bottom box is basically empty until a big order comes in the next couple days, and I am already looking at a vino instead of a 3rd box but want to research first this time.

As you can see nothing TOO fancy but then again a few stick I really enjoy and building off of that, all NC obviously.

Thanks I'm really talking to the guy at my local BM right now and buying 2 of each to try and then find what I like then finding boxes of them, they are adding up fast.... I need to fix that picture though, it's bugging me.

I think this is my favorite thread on this site! In March I'm due to rotate my collection, I'll take some pics of my stash and try and upload them.
