WOW some of you fellas have some amazing setups.
The wife would kill me if I brought something like that home.
I am having a hard enough time just sneaking cigars in.

I have to hide my little humidors in the cleaning closet, I know she won't look in there. JK

yeah or you could be like me, my wife says if it makes me happy then get it, but i know not all wives are like that... Now there are other conditions, i mean if we dont have the money she doesnt want me going and just buying stuff on credit, but i have before... Most the time i have money from my sidework that i set aside for my collecitons, yes collections, i also collect hats, knives, zippos, and etc.. i am a collection freak... but my main two things are cigars and i love hats...

May I also suggest the oven, washer, drier, microwave and in the garage next to the lawn mower.

Those should be great spots too. Hell I heard you can even put them right on the stove, yeah crazy eh?...... just don't turn it on.

Just finished this on Friday. Just a finishing touch for the glass door, and the exterior to deal with at my leisure.
-unused corner of basement
-Framed, 5/8" G1S plywood backing
-1" think unglazed terracotta tiles for cool & moisture wicking from bare cement floor underneath
-1/4" Khaya Mahognay walls
-custom milled 3/4" quater-round Honduran mahogany trim
-LED lights for no heat output
-LOTS of beads for RH control (what is in the bare shelf pic is about half of them)
-2 dedicated circuits for lights/elec, and potential future cooling if required
-Happy audio1der :D

You know, i was thinkin yesterday, it does look like a LCDH humidor.
I am also admiring this set up. Lots of time and thought and some serious

I hear you, I have another order of cigars incoming this week so I'll try to distribute them to make them all look full and snap another pic. You say you have the same humi, how is your RH? I can't get the gauge that came with it up high enough. Do you use any beads or anything?

I now know why you guys call it the "devil site", I can't pay my mortgage this month. The "devil site" strikes again! I have to get some self control!

I don't know if this has been addressed in another thread yet, but the analog hygrometers that come with most desktops are notorious for being inaccurate.

You need to calibrate your hygrometer. Two ways to do that.
1) Boveda pack and test your hygro with that. http://www.bovedapacks.com/
2) Salt test such as http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=6183&highlight=salt

With the analog you can just make a note of how far off the hygro is reading, most prefer to go digital sooner or later.

Thanks I need to order some digitals as soon as I have some money.
Also I removed a clear plastic ring around the hygrometer that came with my larger humi, anybody know if that was the correct thing to do?
It looked to me like it was just for shipping, but couldn't find any instruction saying to remove it.

I had been watching Craigslist for a bit trying to find a couple Vinotemps cheap and was finally
able to do so. I got lucky and scored a 'New in box but opened for inspection' 16 bottle for $50
and a used 28 bottle for a $100... all in all I'm pleased. I contacted Forrest (GolfNut) about
drawers and shelves and ended up ordering from him. I ordered 4 drawers w/ lacewood fronts
for the 16 bottle for my singles storage and ordered 3 shelves for the 28 bottle for box storage.

Fast forward about 3 weeks from ordering and I have my stuff... I could NOT be happier. Thank
you Forrest for a very nice product and in a very timely manner. I'm a happy camper!!!

In the 16 bottle singles vino I am using an 8oz. tube of Heartfelt beads (2lb total) and in the 28
bottle box vino I am using 2lbs of HCM beads. These combinations should keep me at a pretty
solid 65%. I keep them in the basement so I don't actually have to plug in the coolers.

Onto the pics:

So true! I started off with a 50 humi. Then a 100. Then I said a 300 will last me "forever". Bought an Edgestar 28 recently and I said THIS will last me "forever".

Funny how short "forever" is in this hobby - I just ordered my SECOND Edgestar yesterday to store my boxes.

Already gave 10 away to my neighbors, gotta reap what I sow!
Nothing impressive but this is what I am working with.
Picking up some digital hygrometers tonight at Walmart, that analog is a joke.

A friend gave me his glass top humi that he doesn't use anymore for a spare/aging humi. I am in the process of trying to bring it back to life. It was pretty dry in there. I haven't gone as far as another BOTL and re-sealed it yet, but I have used some aquarium sealer around the glass. If that doesn't work, I'll pull it apart and re-do the wood.

Justin and Mike will notice that I DID NOTpost a picture of it though!

You are slipping down fast, or you will be. I have already purchased 4 Humidors since I have been here, and am trying to save for a bigger unit now. Many of the BOTL here have amazing setups, I can't wait until I can have a fraction of what they have going.

That's exactly what I noticed....Thing fluctuates a bit in RH but all and all...:tu

The fluctuations keep my sticks at the lower end of the 60's. They smoke great, that temperature regulation really helps.

It will be in time. I started (2005) out buying a 40ct desktop humi with a fiver (cigars from cigar.com..........shudder..." and I remember thinking that a box of cigars usually, a 25ct, meant I could have 1 box and a few various smokes and I'd never need anything bigger than that. It all seemed so logical at the time. Now here I am 1000+ cigars and needing more and more space every few months. It's a truly slippery slope. :ss

I bet this is the biggest empty humidor posted yet. :D

She's sitting in the basement waiting to get all fixed up so I can put all my cigars back in her. It won't be for awhile, I don't suppose. Once the snow flies, I'm guessing.

It was already done once, Frank. I'm not happy with the lighting and I'm gonna change from four hydras to the avallo I just bought. I want to seal it up better and make hidden bead boxes, too. So it's really Rev. 2.0. :D

Her desk is right next to mine, and she gets the mail. She sniffs all the cigars when I open the boxes, too. Not a complaint yet, she still likes me. :D

I went to a B&M last night and picked up a few empty boxes to create shelves for my coolidor. Seems to be working good so far.

I finally got through all 161 pages of this thread and I am curious, do some of you even smoke yours? I seen tons of boxes some sealed/some not and I am sure that there are singles in some of those boxes, but seriously?

I know some of you are just collectors, but still how do you even have time to smoke some of those?
