I scored this nice cabinet for a very nice price off of Craigslist last week.
Cleaned her up and installed new double magnetic closures.

Now I just need to fill this beauty up!:ss

I am just curious how some of you list your cigar collections in your estates It seems to me that the cost of some of these collections could push your estate into a taxable situation without including any other assets.

Well, in some cases it might be a moot point. I don't think contraband is taxable.

and then Capone got syphilis of the brain...

Well, I guess, if I understand the point you are trying to make correctly, the logical chain of events is that illegal contraband (booze in this case) ---> tax evasion ---> syphilis of the brain.

I better stay away from contraband in that case.

It is 25 inches deep. I am thinking 60-70 boxes plus an additional 100-150 singles in the drawer.

It is a good sized armoire humidor.

After 11 years with shelves full of cd's and dvd's on one wall and a dark oak cupboard on the other wall I decided it was time to get rid of the shelves and move the cupboard to the other wall. Ofcourse I had to empty the whole cupboard, but that gave me a great opportunity to take pictures of the setup:

the empty humidor:

http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff347/cs_donfernando/humidor/DSC02651.jpg

the humidor with Hydra LG, fans and 2 glass shelves

http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff347/cs_donfernando/humidor/DSC02652.jpg

With the botton part filled and the first stack of boxes on the top part

http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff347/cs_donfernando/humidor/DSC02653.jpg

The top part again, inside look so you can see how high the boxes are stacked

http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff347/cs_donfernando/humidor/DSC02654.jpg

Top part completel filled:

Humidor completely filled

http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff347/cs_donfernando/humidor/DSC02659.jpg

That left me with this box of assorted cigars

http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff347/cs_donfernando/humidor/DSC02660.jpg

So I put those cigars in 5 finger bags and put them in my cooler, which barely closes by now

That would violate a Gentlemans agreement we are currently under, so ;s , No go.
Besides, you will need to have some to age for a while, and aging a full cooler is much better for the smokes.

If you use beads, you'll need at least 2-3 lbs if you fill it. I put a Oasis II XL in mine, and I just have to fill the 60 oz basin once every 3 months.

I only counted 20 or so in the pictures. I do have some xXx in a box (not full box), but I wouldn't call it too many. Of course, I won't tell you how many, if any, are hidden below the ones on top. :D

I smoke a few per year (opus x), so most of those are aging by default so I can see how they taste with years on them. Hopefully decade(s) at some point.

Three reasons for the casters.
1. My wife can't stand leaving a room alone. She always has to change things around.
2. When my duaghters have friends over, I can cart it right into my back room.
3. When the wife divorces me, it will be easy to push down the street with my shopping cart.:ss

Its the hardest conflict with the brotherly nature we portray here. Our generosity extends only beyond each of our individual views of "how much is enough for me". Many of us being cigar hounds.. the definition may be like how many shoes does a woman of means have? The answer being as many as she has space for. :)

One mans Jewel is another's dog rocket also applies to an extent. The cool thing about most cigars is that not everyone likes the same thing. Unless you get caught up in the "buzz" or marketing there is normally plenty of what you like and can afford to go around. Like anything, there are high end segments of our coveted objects of desire. The "can afford" comes into play and varying degrees of "access differences" leading to price differences can cause envy and discontent among those not privy. The good news is that cigars are a commodity and if you really want a specific one ... it is normally available, abet at pricing that may not be ideal.

Personally, coveting the cigars in question seems like lusting after the prettiest girl at your local high school. Your unabated lust awaits only the opportunity to meet new and prettier women who may be more accessible. :D (Or in this case types of cigars)

Let the tretis begin!
Years ago when my sister-in-laws father passed away I took an old cabinet from his house and kept in down in my basement. As this crazy hobby started gettin out of hand I decided to convert that old cabinet into a humidor. I thought it was appropriate because he was a big pipe smoker.
So I stripped and sanded the old finish and found out that it was a Mahogany. So I used a very light red mahogany stain and then put an oiled rub finish on it.
On the interior I lined it with Spanish cedar, and put an edge strip all around the opening to get the doors to get a good seal. I used top and bottom sliding bolts to keep it closed tight. The old shelves turned out to be mahogany also so I stripped them and then put a light oil finish on them also. I kinda like the look against the cedar interior.
There's a small drawer on the bottom so I lined that with cedar also, and put a small lid on it. Not sure what to put in there but probably will use it for cheap sticks and supplies.
I let it air out for a while and then started humidifying it. I have a pound of Shilalas beads along with a lot of cedar boxes so I think I should be ok.

Well I made a promise to someone that I would post at least one picture a day. Here is my Vinotemp, with Scott's drawer system in it.

Everyone likes to see drawers of cigars so here they are also:

God's Blessings and Peace to you and may He truly Show Himself to you if you ask.

Greg the summers here in SoCal are a struggle for the Vino( I don't run the AC at all and temp gets high 90's--I know we really suffer out here), but the other three seasons I am rock steady thanks to Scott and his beads.

why? OCD much?
Bobby it's more that I like to try new stuff, or stuff I have had once or twice before to see if my opinion has changed.

Yeah Bart I have it plugged(Drain), and a shallow dish of heartfelt beads in the bottom, condensation drains into that. Then 2 computer fans blowing over the top of the beads( they run all the time)---that's my summer set up in the winter I take out the HB and Scott's stuff keeps everything perfect. The unit is plugged in also.
