highlights from beer fest, what I can remember:

Shorts Key Lime Pie
Firestone Walker Parabola
Bruery Oude Tart and Black Tuesday
Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout
Goose Island Bourbon County
Avery Dépuceleus
Ithaca Le Bleu and Brute
Rocky Mountain Brewing Da Yoopers (literally liquid cherry pie in all the good ways, unlike anything I've ever had, flaky crust was most definitely a flavor)

I was also happy to get in some beers from a few strangers to Colorado such as Duck Rabbit, Alesmith, Pizza Port(s), Cigar City, Ninkasi, New Glarus and Three Floyds.

The price point is VERY cheap, sub $20 a bottle on most. Its fantastic wine though. Made by the same wine-making team as Hundred Acre vineyards, but much less than the $250 price tag those bottles command. I've been fortunate enough to sample many great wines both cheap and expensive and Layer Cake is one of my favorites for daily consumption.

I'm probably doing myself a disservice here by saying that my favorite is the recently discontinued but still available Cotes Du Rhone. Fantastic wine :tu

I've been tempted to get this (the 12yr) simply because I love the glasses that come with it in the gift set, and I'd like to try another Scotch. I'd only had JW Black Label and didn't care for it. I have a ton of bourbon, but would like a decent bottle of a few other liquors (also have Irish covered already).

I know this is blasphemy, but I didn't think the dreadnaught was worth the money at all. It was decent, but I'd rather have 90-minute and at half the cost.

Now, the Alpha King... oh man. Worth every penny.

Drank some Southern Tier Choklat last night (of which I had been really looking forward to) and I have to say, was kind of like drinking a bag of sugar with some chocolate extract mixed in. Really overpowering sweetness. Oh well, gonna try some Founders tonight, yippeeee!
