My new laptop for christmas has 4 GB in it. My old one had 500mg. It does seem that RAM does an amazing job. Its nearly 5+ times faster, even though the processor is less than twice as fast. But, then mine is PC. I thought MACs were already supposed to be perfect....so how could you get faster than perfect?
Cheers to you on your RAM

Not a mac expert by all means, however I think Mac's use the same RAM as PCs, now that they use the x86 architecture. Don't quote me on that, I could be very wrong.

Did you look on the side of your old ram? See if it has a Mhz rating. Your new one is 667mhz, if the old one is less that is another reason why your new stuff is faster.

Nah, just 1GB. Mine runs rock solid though, even OCed to 3.5GHz. I dare say I like Vista (64)

Macs are designed to take advantage of RAM very well. AnandTech did a report on OS X caching a few years back. Granted that was while they were still using the IBM PowerPC architecture but I doubt that much has changed for memory management with the move to x86.
