Re: CAO Brazilia thoughts
These are great sticks especially the Gol size as mentioned above. When I was still a newb I used to smoke these things almost exclusively. Still like them to this day. I also really like them as a box press.

Re: CAO Brazilia thoughts
I tried a Brazilia a while ago and wasn't impressed. I wrote down I didn't enjoy it, but didn't write down a reason..oops. On the other hand, I've really enjoyed the CAO Gold Maduro.

I bought a box of the Lambadas
before the SCHIP tax kicked in. I don't smoke them much, but those remaining are getting good age. They're one of the better CAOs. Chemyst |

Re: CAO Brazilia thoughts
Just smoked one. It started out sweet and by mid way it gained a little spice. It burned nice but it was hard to get a good pull off of it. (would rolling the cigar around in my hand help loosen this up or should I leave it alone?)
Anyway, on about the last 1/3 of the cigar I lost my train of thought and I guess my brain told me I was smoking a cigarette like I used to when I had a drink. So I took a nice long draw and without thinking about what I was doing I inhaled. By the time the smoke got halfway down my throat my body realized that I had made a very very big mistake. I tried to cough as hard as I could but my throat was paralyzed. My god did that hurt. I was able to breathe properly again after about 5 minutes of gasping and coughing. I still feel a little rough. But that said, I will try another one in a month or two and see what I think about it. |

Re: CAO Brazilia thoughts
What Rh are you keeping your sticks at? These need to be no higher than 65 because the wrapper is a little thicker. If it was plugged, rolling it around might have helped, but I've smoked a lot of these and never run into a plugged one. Not saying it can't happen, but I bet it's a moisture issue.

Re: CAO Brazilia thoughts
Out of all the CAO's this is how I like them in order:
Cameroon Soprano's CX2 (I think this is a Famous exclusive now) Brazilia Traviata MX2 LX2 Italia Vision Gold America Not a fan of the Criollo. Never have been. I don't smoke too many CAO's any more, with the exception of the Cameroon. I have one of these about once a month or so. |

Re: CAO Brazilia thoughts
Then it's definitely a moisture issue...let one sit for a few weeks and adjust and you'll see a difference.

Re: CAO Brazilia thoughts
I just picked up a Box Press one of these at the local shop here. Have not smoked it yet but I will be changing that in a day or two. I will let ya know what I think. It was the mixed reviews from this post that has me wondering how I will feel about it.
If this is any indication of how I will be purchasing future cigars I feel I may be needing to pick up another humador quicker than was originally thought! |
