Excellent story and great advise. I, to, have a Stinky and can honestly say I would be a mess with out it. It's like an old friend at this point in our smoking relationship. After every smoking session I bring old Stinky back in and give it a good wipe down. Then back on the shelf in my home office it sits, until next time, which I pray won't be long.

Being the kind of guy I am, I would have reached for the JB weld too.... and while repairing it, wondered why it was made with shoddy welds/solders to begin with, and not purchase another. Pretty, useful, and not the first time I have heard of stirrups falling off one.

Have others had this kind of failure? I thought it was just mine. Sometimes when I have a product that I like that requires more maintenance than it should, it inspires improvements, and new projects that can be rewarding and fun. Other times, it just frustrates and causes more trash..... And I too have no involvement with the company...
