If the statement is fact, then there really is no reason or room for discussion. Why else would you post this if not to discuss? And where would you expect the discussion to go if not in a political direction?

Perhaps to serve as a reminder of a fact, much like the reminders we get to have a designated driver or wear our seat belts. Though those statements may not leave room for discussion, they still contain very valuable information...regardless on a person's political feelings towards DWI/seatbelt laws.

But posting a reminder in a public forum (whether fact or opinion) will lead to discussion. And here is a fact. I initially felt this thread was started as a political statement. However, I felt that a reminder to all might keep it from becoming a political discussion and ultimately getting shut down. Proof that no good deed goes unpunished.
