Five Consecutive BCS National Championships (Florida 06, LSU 07, Florida 08, Alabama 09, Auburn 10)
Half the conference ranked in the AP's Preseason Top 25
One division, the West, has more preseason ranked teams, including Alabama and LSU in the Top 5, then any other entire conference.
Talk of college football in the late summer in Dixie is as ubiquitous as mosquitoes and humidity. From work water coolers to church parking lots, college football fans in the South debate the intricacies of the upcoming season. And no where more than in the states that make up the Southeastern Conference. From Rocky Top in the Tennessee hills, to the Maroon Band of Mississippi State, to the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, to the Eye of the Tiger in Death Valley or the chomp in the Swamp.
The South does not revolve around the sun, it revolves around SEC football :banger

There are no easy schedules in the SEC. You could move six teams from the SEC to other conferences and they would win the championships.
Going to be one helluva season in the SEC, the east is ours i hope. The west however is going to be beast this year.

OH yeah!!!! Just a few more days.
Knowing Les Miles "win at any cost" theory, I figured it would take criminal charges before he would pull them from the roster.I guess it's all in who you hate....This is NCAA football, not Les Miles.
Remember a little coach named Nick Saban? I don't remember Auburn holding Cam Newton out.
I remember FLA doing similar. But you are right. Those boys were gonna play til Les understood
that there was video. Who in their right mind does ANYTHING like that in a crowd in the modern world?
SOMEONE is gonna cam-phone it, if not everyone. JJ just showed how dumb we already knew he was.
But you know what I REALLY like? LSU playing a huge national power right out of the gate. Know
anybody with the cojones to schedule that kind of game out of the box? Season make or break for
both teams. We'll play our share of McNeese State's before it's all said and done, but LSU still
understands the magic and suspense of non-conference play, babay.
Be$t football conference money can buy. ;)
Ditto on this. This is not the SEC, this is the NCAA. There is just more money flowing down south.
We don't spend so much on book-lernin', so we have money left over to buy football players.

what I REALLY like? LSU playing a huge national power right out of the gate.
That speaks to the whole point that, in addition to having the toughest conference play, SEC schools schedule tough non-conference play as well: Georgia playing Boise State, LSU w/Oregon AND West Virginia (aka the unconstitutional state), USC & Auburn playing Clemson, and Florida against the Seminoles.
:su
I looked through several of the other schedules, though, and FL State was the only one that made me shiver.
And only very recently. Many pundits have them picked as VERY high finishers in 2011. Is Clemson scary?
I guess when they join the SEC next year, we'll know for sure, haha. I hope UGA has something for the
Broncos, though. Richt better pull his squad together or they are in for a whippin....OleMiss-BYU...ehhh. Tossup.

Ahem. Couple years ago, we smashed Clempson in the opener when Clempson was a lot of folks pick to be a title contender. Year after that we smashed Virginia Tech in the same circumstance. Lat year and this we got Penn State in the second game. Next year we're opening with Michigan. So yea, I know a team with the cajones to do it. :tu

Im prob the only one here, but WDE!
I will go on the record saying I am not hyping myself up and thinking AU is gonna bring a season like last year, Im just hoping its a positive year as its a rebuilding year for sure.
Regardless, SEC Football is a sport all in its own for the most part. Tradition, Rivarly, and big 'ole boys beating the crap out of each other :tu
Ahem is right, I just saw penn st listed today on a broadcast of alabama versus powerhouse Kent st, lol.
I don't recall seeing that in the printed schedule I saw online. I still don't think Clemson has anything for the
better teams in the SEC. Rizzle, you mistook TV pundit hype for actual chances if you believed that Clemson or VA tech
ever had a chance to take the ugly crystal football. :)
College football is officially ON.
And now the REAL reason I came in to post....AAARRRGGHH.... Brent Musburger!!! NOOOooooooo! I hate his dumb a55.
Ahahaa, Erin Andrews just called Les Miles a little confused, hahaha. He apprently ran for the OU sideline, lol.
Kent St had some studs on that team. Sorry they couldn't compete better. They should do well in the MAC season.
The Tide looked crispy, not to belabour the TV commentator's point, but it looks like we have a QB in Tusk-aloosa.
LSU looks stiff tonight. Not to much give in the line. Oregon might be good, and this game is not over, but LSU looks
scary tonight.

What in the world is up with UGA???
Earl, have you been watching for the last 4 years? UGA used to be good enough to make it through a season and
not look bad, but hasn't had any luck doing that for 4+ years. And Mark Richt continues to hold onto his job. He is a
great coach, but apparently that isn't enough anymore.
I enjoyed the LSU game last night. It's the same pattern every time ABC has a game with LSU. They START OUT saying
that Les Miles does it differently than almost any other coach. He HAS a quarterback and an offense, but he DEPENDS on
his defense and special teams to do most of the scoring. Then along about 2 mins to go in the first half, and again at the
start of the 3rd quarter, "Oh, LSU needs to figure out what is going wrong in the offense, they are in real danger of being
overrun by Oregon, they have an anemic 9 points onthe board, and Oregon is beginning to get it's offense cranked up. It's
not looking good for LSU." And what happens, we cause 3 turnovers in a row and score off most of em. LSU will be fine,
and Jarrett Lee looked confident enough to lead the offense going forward. PERSONALLY, I would rather NOT get Jordan
Jefferson back this season. He is a dummy with skills. We do not need to look to him as the "good quarterback that we
are all waiting for to come back". GEAUX TIGERS!

Michael, HOW COULD YOU DOUBT THE TIGERS?? What? I am shocked! I know we are from different planets and all,
but surely you didn't side with the know-nothing MEDIA-hypers on this one? In any event, I'm glad they surprised
you, or I'd be in an awfully foul mood right now. During all the news cycle hype, I never once doubted that the Tigers
would win it going away. Even when I was looking like a man on an island on the issue.
Greg, I think you HAVE to be right, I have always liked Richt, but I am shocked at how a once-dominant team, WITH blue
chip players in spades, has under-performed so badly over the last 3-4 years. Granted, there was FLA, LSU, BAMA and a
few others sucking up all the oxygen, but I have been shaking my head for a long time on that one.

haha, that's a new classic!
I agree about the LSU QBs...Look at Matt Flynn (07champs). Good game manager, extremely smart.
Matt Mauck for the 03 team, too. Both were drafted to the NFL, neither of them to be a starter. Just brains with some
skills, which is what you need in a backup...low price, max payoff. Local sports station voice today said LSU
has a "Bama QB" Nothing great in the skills department, just a smart, cerebral athlete who doesn't lose games for you."
Strange way of putting it, but well said. LSU doesn't need Peyton Manning. They need someone smart and capable.
Which is why I am thrilled that Jordan Jefferson is out, hopefully for good. Dumb-a55. :r
Now for the controversy. There is no way Bama beats LSU in 2011.
OK, bring it, haha.
It's stupid to say so NOW, so far from the game, so I will re-assess at game week. But I think we have the edge this year.
Of course we have to pull it off in T-town, so we'll have to see.

Boy, you got that one right, Scott! I thought the refs were getting paid by the number of flags they threw, for a while!! 2nd half wasn't as bad, but still, game took way too long because of flags! It was apparent their first two games, but glossed over because they got lucky and pulled rabbits outta their hats. Clemson made it glaringly obvious. And, if you don't have a defense in the SEC, it makes for a mighty long season.
I think the Bama-Ark line is too large because I'm not strong on Bama's Offense. They are already displaying the same "Red Zone" offensive weaknesses they have had in the recent past. And like you said, in college football...... Any given Saturday!

Kinda the reason I'm not big on the line!
Defense may very well win it for us, but, without a strong offense, it's much harder to win by large margins! And to be fair IMO, 41 points last game wasn't due to a super strong Bama offense, as much as a weak North Texas defense (despite giving us trouble in the Red Zone!)

Sorry fellers, I have been less than obnoxious owing to my being in Concord, NC for an entire week and AFK.
I was reading some online facts n figgers and read this.....West Virginia goes into the game averaging 42.0 points
and 435 yards of offense per game. LSU's defense is allowing just 12.0 points, 47.7 rushing yards and 207.7 total
yards per game.
Hehe, they WERE averaging 42 pernts a game, lol. Now I am not thinking that LSU is gonna walk into Morgantown
and just have their way all day, but I am feeling pretty good now that we are on an actual one QB system down in
Baton Rouge, NO MATTER the young man's previous history. And this is a GREAT year to have a so-so QB in the SEC,
cause almost no one's got anything better. So yeah, I see another W for the tigers. Hope we steal it from "W"VU.
Good luck BAMA, beat the Hogs.
Alot of great SEC action this weekend.

My Gators have a lot of questions left to answer (like our passing attack) but I think the East is wide open this year. Chris Rainey is playing in the same class as Lattimore and Brantley doesn't have to do too much to be as good as Garcia :D

That is true, it'll come down to turnovers as always with big games
True, but i think the East is ours to lose, and the only people that can kill themselves are the Gamecocks.
We shall see how they look against Vandy bc we have Auburn next week and thats not going to be a cakewalk.
Is Vandy in the East? I guess I could LOOK but that would not be social.
Rizz, I think you have it about right. I have always been a homer for the Tigers, making whatever statements
I had to make to see if I could will them to victory. But this team looks extremely capable of bending time
and space around themselves to alter the course of events. Defensively anyway, lol. But the offense is at full
strength this week, and we have our Aussie Punter back healthy. Again, I am not about to write off WVU, but this
one should be in the sack. ;) GO F'ing Tigers!
And no worries....my secret crush has always been the Crimson Tide. I just happen to be a LSU fan, so
I cannot pull for them one week a year. It's BAMA that I think has a tough road this week. They might
have the best O Line in the USA, but something tells me that if they get behind late, it could be over for
em. Arkanasas MIGHT have the best wide receiver corps in the USA, so....
But I am pumped I get to watch both games on Saturday. WHO, DADDY, I best be smokin' my meat early

I think I am going to just start calling Ole Miss "Miss". I swear they are their own worst enemy. They can't tackle,
can't sustain momentum, and waste gadget plays that work brilliantly. On the other hand, the UGA Bulldogs appear
to have righted the ship. And to think GGainey just gave up on em. Wait, he said he was ALMOST giving up, I forgot.

HO-lee crap, that was not good. A win is a win, but it looks like someone can simply watch the tape on LSU-WVU
and have a road map to whipping the tigers. Still, you gotta love the defense in general. Fast, cruel and tough.
We'll see how the Tigers do as they now look squarely into the jaws of the SEC.

Well. My Gamecocks added another W, but jumping Jesus on rollerblades it was ugly. That may have been the worst game the Gamecocks have played and actually won. Garcia is killing this team. It is hard too because when he is either hot or cold. And.. it is to extremes. When he is on, he is deadly accurate and will rush it for 10+ yards if he has no pass option. If he is cold, he throws 4 INTs to a team like Vandy.
OTOH, the defense was crazy badass last night and held Vandy to just 77 yards. They have to get the QB situation under control or they will get demolished in the next few weeks ---Auburn, Miss St, Florida, Arkanasas and probably Clemson.

Congratulations USC fans on having the same feeling LSU fans have had for almost three years.
Looking at a quarterback with only occasional flashes of brilliance can give you acid
indigestion. I think LSU's Jarrett Lee is to be commended for understanding that even though
he was a star in Texas High School football, throwing Pick-6's as a career was not
getting it done. He then suffered the indignity of being a co-starter with a nimble-
footed, but not very smart or accurate Jordan Jefferson. He could have transferred or
been a dic&, but he waited patiently, learned A LOT, and is now likely the best QB in an
admittedly weak class of QBs in the SEC. Tyler Bray has more talent, but is too young &
dumb to be considered the best.

4 Interceptions and holding them to 3 points was nerve wracking. They werent close interceptions either, you could tell when it left his hand bc it was such a terrible pass. I mean how many times do you have to throw into double and triple coverage and get picked before you know you cant do it.

OK, good midweek question..........Which team does the SEC insert into the East that gives the best balance?
"THEY" say it's now official, TX A&M is IN.
So................
Some people say Clemson is a no brainer, but I think being maybe the best ACC team is a spot you don't give up.
It DOES give USC the critical in-conference rivalry game I think they are lacking now, a la MSU/MISS, BAMA/AUBURN.
Mizzou I think is just outside the area of influence and stretches plausibility to me. I like Florida State for again, in conf-
erence balance lacking for UF now, although they play the Seminoles now anyway. I say bring that game into conference
play for a REALLY interesting matchup each year. VA Tech ain't going nowhere, What about the Ramblin Wreck?? Speaking of Techs....you could ALMOST make a case for LA tech, but they're not too East....
I also like Troy, but that'd be three Alabama teams. Tough call.
One thing I hate about TAM getting in, they are going to sew up a lot of recruits LSU is getting now, we are
just cleaning UP in TX today.

You hit all three that I think would work, and all three would be good fit, in my opinion, with all three having chance for in-conference, in-state grudge matches! Clemson, Ga. Tech and Florida State! I could live with all three. I agree that Clemson might be hard to get right now. Florida State would be third on my list. Georgia Tech would probably be my first choice. And, I think it would trip the SEC's academic trigger as much as A&M (apparently) did. Besides, I'd love to see Georgia and Tech square off each year!

I think Clemson would jump at the chance. Fans around here want it, but I believe Clemson is a founding member of the ACC, which makes it somewhat difficult. Don't forget also, Clemson and Georgia used to have a rivalry back in the day and they actually start a 1 and 1 next at Clemson.
The big question is, can the SEC handle one more school with orange as a prominent color ;)

I think I am leaning highly towards Gtech now, too. I think it's an EASY get, too.
A lot of people say imbalance is OK in the SEC, but I would say that they need to get
it balanced before they even start playing as an expanded conference. No sense in one
side having an extra conference game to play while the other side plays sisters of the poor.
The only thing I don't like about expansion is it inhibits one avenue the TIGERS have been
pretty successfully riding to the top of the BCS of late, playing a great mix of non-conf. teams.

Auburn will be lucky to get out with only 50 scored against them, IMO! Their defense hasn't been on the field yet! No reason to think it will show up this weekend. Really embarrassing last week to have the most offensive yards ever scored against an SEC team ticked off against Auburn. Hey, I know this is the SEC thread, but us Clemson folk have opinions.
USC hasn't covered but once this year (against UGA), so I'm again taking Auburn with 11.5. Spurrier is still the best quarterback on the team and he should play at least one quarter tomorrow. He better be looking ahead to next year and who is going to lead the team.
I agree if Bama can play the game they have in the book, they will stomp Florida, which is also fine with me. Key is no turnovers.
Depending on which Les Miles shows up, the 28.5 spread is causing me some worry. I think I'll take them anyway, as Kentucky is not firing on all cylinders this year.
One would hope UGA cover cover 8.5 with Miss St. I betting on it. They'll be between the hedges, so that should give them more confidence.
I'm also taking my Tigers at +7.5. A victory will be sweet for the Tiger Nation who have suffered much inconsistency over the past years.

http://ideaspot.net/flags/SEC/small/small.htmlWe'll consider you about 1/2 SEC, Jamie. Good to see you around , brother, and good luck this weekend. Your Tigers made me do a little happy dance a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure I like all your picks this weekend, but hey, I went 2-8 last weekend in my pool and 1-1 with the bookie. I think I'll stick with my day job, which ain't much better. :tu

Don't get arrested, Brad!
Go Orange (the Real one)!!!
Carolina didnt cover against UGA, they did cover the spread against Vandy though. http://ideaspot.net/flags/ACC/small/noclem-sm.gif

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo.
Jordan Jefferson had his charges reduced to misdemeanor simple battery and was
re-instated to the LSU Tiger roster.
Now thankfully, Jarrett lee has played SO WELL that surely he is the starter EVERY
SATURDAY, but I know Les Miles, and if he wants to mix it up and give the defense
something different to react to, he will put JJ in the game....and for the first time
in 4 weeks, I will once again feel like at any time, LSU could lose a football game.

The ending to the Auburn game was ridiculous. There was still 2 seconds left on the clock.
There is always a "continuation" with human referrees and clock operators. It was a stupid passing decision to
throw to that receiver at that spot on the field with that little time on the clock. Plain and Simple. If you are
going to do that stupid kind of thing, you make up your mind and throw the ball quickly, down yourself quicker,
and hurry to the line for the FEW ticks you have left after the chains move and get another pass.
Just another of the bad decisions Garcia and the Ole' ball Coach made on the day. When he called that last time
out I almost came out of my skin. You spike the ball. You don't have TIME for four downs, who cares if you lose one.
but a LOT of stuff happens really fast. It happens to everyone.

Exactly, Brad. They shouldn't have put themselves in that predicament to start with. Spurrier should have told them in the time out - no longer than a 3 count before passing and hit the deck when you catch it. Breaks my heart none, though!
That's it in a nutshell. I take nothing away from Spurrier and his team, EVERYONE makes bad decisions now
and again. In our frame by frame slo-mo, after-the-fact, internet pundit world, it's far too easy to pick apart the
decisions.....BUT, they were BAD DECISIONS. Dropped a bomb on the East, though. Opened it up like a watermelon
hitting a sidewalk. I see new hope for a few teams.

Hats off to my Bama brothers, y'all looked really good. Gators didn't look particularly bad, y'all just out muscled us in every position. Dissapointed that our D line didn't impact the game as much as I thought they would but impressed at the Gator passing attack. Ironically, our passing (which I thought would be our weakness) was much better than our running game (which I thought would be our strength). To sum up, I don't think Florida is a bad team, we just are not an elite team yet, which Bama clearly is
But this is a young and talented Gator team that will learn from it and get better :tu

Well, finally got to see a Bama win in the swamp. I missed the '99 game because a buddy of mine (who is a gator alum) was getting married that day in Atlanta. I was there back in 90 or 91 when we just got rolled, and I was ther for the last go round in '06, I believe, when we had a chance coming out of halftime but just couldn't stop them. We left no doubt Saturday night.
Oddly enough, I heard a stat that coming into that game we were actually 7-2 against UF in the swamp, and here I am going, damn, why is it every time I show up we lose? No more. :D
And I gotta say, when you put the females of UF and Bama together, wow. Make a man write bad checks.

No kidding. I was so relieved to hear this today. I was out of town and did not watch that clusterfark of a game vs Auburn. I do not know what happened to Garcia, but he is just simply terrible this year. I do not see how Shaw cannot do any worse. They need to get him in sometime anyway. It makes me sick how they are throwing away chances with all that talent on the team.

I honestly think Garcia does not care about football enough to put in the work required. He obviously does not train enough, study film enough, or the playbook enough. He has not improved, perhaps regressed even, in several years.
I hate to say it, as much as I like Spurrier, but I think Auburn is a poor team this year. I'm picking them to lose at least four more games (Ark, UF, LSU, Bama) and maybe five playing at Georgia. To have a chance in the SEC you gotta beat the teams u're supposed to and USC couldn't do it Saturday

I think Garcia progressed up to last year. He has taken leaps backwards this year. These are freshmen mistakes he is making. Auburn does suck this year. That should have been a huge win, not a stupid loss. I am not giving up on the boys yet. We will have to see what Shaw can do. If he can keep it together and the O-line can get him some time, I think they will recover. THis BS of handing to to Lattimore very play has got to stop. A short pass here and there plus a deep ball a couple time a quarter to Alshon plus Lattimore on the ground should keep the ball moving.
I am also curious to see what this Damiere Byrd kid can do with a QB that does not throw all INTs.
Im happy with the annoucement to bench Garcia, we have to use Shaw at QB next year and Garcia is preforming terribly so why no put him in, to at the very worst get him the experience under pressure.
Plus as others have said, he cant preform worse than Garcia has been.

Struggling with USC vs Kentucky with 19.5 points. Kentucky isn't that good, but for every score they put up Carolina has to keep that 20 point buffer. Want to side with Kentucky, but they've let me down all season. Don't know which Shaw shows up.
Also the UGA and Tenn game with UGA favored by 1.5. Tenn is at home, but they have been hit or miss, as have UGA. My first inclination says go with UGA. Just might do that.

I'm not sure how bad Auburn is going to lose to Arkansas... any thoughts?
I think that as bad as Garcia looked this past weekend, and it was apalling, he is suffering the same fate as
Jarrett Lee last weekend, a TON OF DROPS. I thought he looked great in broken plays running the ball, threw a
few nice passes that should have been caught...but I agree, you can see a lack of film study and a lack of field
vision at this level of experience. The game should be slowed way down for his brain, and it still looks like he
can't see the field at all. Looking for a much better outing for LSU this weekend at home, sorry Gator fans,
we'd all like your starting QB in there this week, but I bet he is secretly THRILLED to be sitting. The new guy
looks REALLY CAPABLE, so this looks a bit like a trap to me, but LSU escapes, 45-23.

Not a prob :tu Clemson campus is buzzing that this will be the beginning of another USC meltdown
There will be a meltdown in Clemson before Columbia IMO.
Ahhh, how I do love an occasional break in the pre-Saturday stress. Matt Simms, who will step in for Tyler Bray
for UT versus LSU, told a local
reporter when he was asked how it feels to be thrown into the position of facing LSU wih almost no time to
get a decent coupla weeks prep time as the starter, and he said, basically, Hey, I was the QB LAST YEAR
when we played em tough to the end, had it won, and they stole the game from us."
Point taken. BUT, no one steals a game from anyone, especially not LSU. You get beaten by your own
mistakes when you play the Tigers. If anyone remembers, we take a ton of offensive talent and only do
pretty well with it. Our defense makes it happen, and they also capitalize on every mistake you make.
So with almost no ground game to speak of this year, and a memory of a 124 yard performance by your
back LAST YEAR, you think you are gonna be able to haul off and throw 50 times against the Tigers?
Hehehe.....TIGER MEAT. Looking forward to the games this weekend.
Coupla quick notes......LSU has had 24 different players make tackles behind the line of scrimmage in 2011...hello.
LSU will not play a SINGLE SEC night game in Tiger Stadium this year. But on the bright side, all these
re-scheds have allowed me to miss only ONE game this year in MEMPHIS, TN with NO CABLE TV. Not bad.

To me the saddest thing is that it took Spurrier so long to do anything about it. He has NEVER EVER been happy
with SG, so why the long wait? He could have developed 2 QBs in the time he wasted. But any QB that agrees
to go to USC as long as SS is there is a glutton for punishment anyway.

Haha, if there is one thing I know how to do, it's speak too soon. I came in at 3:00 to go in the first half and

You know that does not matter. Nor does team or school policy have any effect on what Les will do to win. He had the same "win regardless of the cost or rules at Arkansas, he has now demonstrated the same mentality at LSU. If Les is going to look the other way on drugs, as well as criminal charges, who knows what he will be willing to overlook? That is the same lack-of-enforcement and lack-of concern for discipline that Mike Dubose and Mike Shula had at Bama. And look at the mess it spawned for Alabama! Just sayin'! Bama has been there before with the look-the-outher-way syndrome of the coaches. I've seen it! It never ends pretty!

It really IS ALL THE SAME, Riz. That's what's got me wondering what crawled up the Kid's boutay on a Monday.
:r
But don't be deluded, Kid, it's all the same. Saban is way better than Dubose or Shula, but one way or the other,
something is gonna slip, because he is operating much the same as mr. Les Miles over there in Tuscaloosa. He just
keeps his players in fear, and Miles is more of a player's coach. You can't keep the lid on that tight without a blow,
though. One day it's gonna come. It's the SAME argument I was throwing at Urban Meyer for years around here.
And the FL faithful weren't havin' it. I was calling his players dirty thugs, and I meant it. Yes, I agree that LSU
has had some trouble this year and it is at the coaches discretion if or how long to punish players. So he gets his
players back on board before the Bama game. Can you blame him? Do you think that Jordan Jefferson is feeling like
he is back now and everything is forgiven? Hell no, he barely plays, and then only to tune him up lest Lee go down
in T-town. He is hardly the starting QB again. And all he did was beat the 5hit out of someone at a bar he shouldn't
have been at. It's not like he was on dust or something while he did it.

Can you IMAGINE the kind of football we are going to witness??? It's scary to even THINK
about how priviledged we are to be able to see something like this.

Brantley is probable for the UGA game. Hopefully that will give UF the edge over Georgia. Florida ain't so hot but if we can beat UGA and FSU, we'll be 3-0 against our rivals :tu
I'm a glass half full kinda guy :D

It really IS ALL THE SAME, Riz. That's what's got me wondering what crawled up the Kid's boutay on a Monday.
It is INDEED on. Gonna be a tough weekend, though. What to do, what to do.

Grrrrrrrr! :) Bah humbug!!! I don't know how to lighten up :r
But, I do think Les is setting pretty much the same bad bad example for his players as DuBose and Shula did for Bama, and that such a lenient punishment policy will bite him in the butt sooner, rather than later. And, I agree that it is a problem that exist over a large part of the sport, unfortunately. I also think the NCAA is a complete loss as a policing agency! For example, I think they hurried up their investigation of Cam Newton at Auburn, because they do not want another "Reggie Bush/Heisman" boondoggle!
Hell, I think a lot of things! I agree 100% with you that Saban is much better than our last 2-3-4? coaches!!!! But that would not be difficult, since we have had some real losers in the recent past when it came to the management side and the enforcement side!
My post before was from a small apartment in Mississippi, with nothing much to do, so I had to lash out at someone, and since LSU is next up...... Heck, it's SEC football, so they are definitely in the sights!!:D But don't worry, Auburn will soon be in the sights!!:su
However, I'm now at home for a couple of days, and have already taken out my aggressions on a couple of squirrels (for breakfast tomorrow), and a crow (stupid birds are stripping my pecan trees, and waking me up early in the mornings while doing it!!). So, I'm calmed down tonight, and don't need any meds........ Yet. Let's see what my Cardinals do, then it may be a different story!!
Sorry, I had to strip the emoticons out of your post so mine would not overload the system!!! But I do get that you were being non-confrontational. As I was being, but failed to put any smiles in! ;s
Sadly I will be pulling for UF this weekend. :D

It's will be an honor to have you as a fan:noon
Its just so we have a buffer on UGA. That was if we throw up a goose egg on Arkansas we can still beat UF to win the east.
I could tell it was a lashout, Sville, no problems, especially on the subject at hand.
In simple terms, Saban is easily the coach least likely to succeed at getting his program in trouble.
But the NCAA is a cesspool, especially at the top, and we just happen to pull for the top two teams.
As a certified HOMER, I see LSU through rose-colored glasses, much as you do the Tide. I didn't even
know they had gotten in trouble at the start of the year for over signing players. I had to read about
that one yesterday as I tried ti find out how Miles and Arkansas went together, haha. Over-signing is
not fair to the kids.
And what is it with these squirrels today?? I can't remember them eating green pecans when I was a kid? NEVER.
Now unless I brutally enforce a no fly zone in my back yard with my new Beaman break-barrel pellet gun with scope,
89 bucks at wahlmart, I end up with no nuts for the 7th year in a row. Not to mention a patio COVERED in broken up
green pecans. As it is the damage they do while I am at work alone means that I'll be lucky to have a dozen ripe pecans
this year. But I have been MERCILESS!! I quit skinning them and took to putting them in a ziplock bag in the
freezer and tossing them on trash day. Smoked a few, though, not bad.
This new pellet gun is brutally accurate, hehe. But I have two trees basically stripped again.
Thank goodness for the cocktail party, or I'd have nothing to do all weekend.
I am gonna have to go UGA, cause while I am a sometimes Bama fan, I am a NO-
times Florida fan. I know my brothers in and out of FL have florgiven me for that
already, so it's OK. Just need something to watch. Or it's back to Nashville to drink
with Bill. BUT I DO wish FL the best on the re-building.

The squirrels have usually waited until the day before I look for the pecans to fall, and then they devastate my crop overnight. This year, the crows are assisting them by stripping the green pecans, tearing thru the husks, and eating the meat before it's even ready. I'm going to hang the next crow I kill in one of my pecan trees! That should give them something to think about!!!!
This year will be the fifth in a row I've failed to get any before the animals! I have 6 acres full of other trees, and the ground is littered with acorns and hickory nuts this year. Apparently they would rather run across my yard in the open and eat pecans!!! And my dog just lays there and watches the show. Grrrrrrrrrrr!!
Roll Tide Roll. BTW, I'd love to see Boise State play either of us!! That would be a killin' worth seeing!!

My uncle used to epoxy ripe nuts to the picnic table and that would keep them so occupied that they
had little time to play in the trees. I have a couple of dogs that keep them in the trees, so if they drop a nut,
they just grab another. And they drop em all the time.
Football.

We're coming to get you.....:su
Are you speaking as a squirrel or a Bama fan? (see posts 223+225)
As to the Big Game, I need to warn you Bama fans, Say what you want around your friends, but lay your MONEY
down on the Tigers. This is as close to a push as I have ever seen, but the Tigers are going to come out on top.
I have been a Tiger fan since I was a kid, and never in their history have people taken them seriously enough,
and until they are hit in the face with a big purple rubber dildo, they just won't accept the truth. This is true
about a lot of teams, but keep the faces of Oregon and WVU fans in mind as you place your bets. I think all of
Bama's opponents fans realized they had no chance, but not so with the Tigers. They show up in their white-out
or gold-out gear, shake their pom-poms and bounce to the techno stadium groover songs. But until they get
smacked in the mouth a couple of times, over and over again, they just don't GET the Tigers. NO, my friend,
we are coming for YOU.......;)
Don't miss this chance to make some money off your bookie.

Talk about a toss up - I'm taking Florida as the dog. Hate UGA and the Gators. It's like choosing between poison ivy and chiggers.
Then there's the Cocks and the Vols. Like picking a lady to dance at the old folks home...
I at least have a bit of fun with USC-UT today. I like the cocktail party, too, This is rough when your team is idle.
Hard to say if one or both teams will be affected by it next week. I NEED ENTERTAINMENT THIS WEEKEND! I am
not even smoking meat this weekend cause I am SO FAT! I am trying to take every indulgence off the table and
work through this. Man I miss my cigarettes!!!
I am gonna go with Chiggers this weekend, believe it or not. Not just Lattimore being out, but D. Dooley is desparate.
(Bet LSU while you can.) ;)

SC 24 TN 10
Lattimore is out, but they do have some depth left on the running game with Brandon Wilds. Plus, without Lattimore, TN will not be stacking the box so hard. Hopefully, we'll see some more of the air game.
Another spot to watch closely is SC's Clowney vs TN's Worley. Clowney went to South Pointe High and Worley went to Northwester (my AlmaMater). They are cross town rivals and had a HUGE game last year to determine who goes to state. Northwester won. Clowney will be looking for some revenge. I am seeing a big game for him today.
I hope I get to see it tonight on CBS...if not I guess I miss it....lemme check the schedules of both teams...
Damn...it's on the douche.
Am I the only one that HATES this 'new' style of celebration that everyone seems to have to do now where they
risk broken ankles everytime they go up??
It's not going away, people jump up and bump in mid-air. You'd think the coaches would put a stop to it, it's very
dangerous. Land wrong, land on the other guy's foot or calf or ankle....It's the equivalent of playing off-
season touch football....oops, I broke my tibia, sorry coach.

Well, we knew Richt was awful. It now appears that Muschamp was woefully unprepared for a job of this magnitude. That was just an abomination of a game.
And yes, Brad, Bama is gonna whip that ass for your beloved Tigers. Book it.
I am not so sure he is over-matched, I think there has been so little continuity and a lack of a decent break,
he is just stuck in a bad cycle right now. I think he is gonna get it together. Of course, not in 2011, lol. He is in
EXACTLY the same sitcho as Derek Dooley, I think.

I was shocked to see Brantley in the game, I thought that was gonna be the nail in UGA's coffin.
I am guessing that's why he HAD TO play, to make sure you didn't lose the cocktail party game.
But it didn't work out that way. Personally I would have stayed with the backup guy that
had two or three games under his belt. But ehhh, it happened.

The sheet I'm looking at says +4.5 from Vegas and +4.52 from the supercomputer used to figure out small country GNPs.
And for your info, Ritchie, I did "fall asleep" on the floor with the Beagle Sat night. For the life of me I couldn't figure out going to bed. The wife reminded me on the way to church.
The most satisfying thing will be the line of people forming outside my imaginary in-thread office to humbly say,
"Damn, you were right...A.) bama just wasn't tough ENOUGH, and B.) I SHOULD have put money on LSU." ;)

Opening line was Bama -6, now -5. So if any of you want to give me Bama +4 1/2 or 5, the line forms here. -(P
Sad that the whuppin has to take place in Tuscaloosa. That is going to be SO difficult to take. But at least they'll
all look good with their blank stares in their houndstooth check attire. ;) But GOD do you guys have the finest women
